Re: [Blind-Computing] Connecting printer
Yes we were out of state for about a month or so. Also when ai rebooted the printer was off. I'll try again in morning because my nephew wanted to print his paper for 6th grade but we managed to copy to his thumb drive. Also in New York we had a blizzard in October and lost power. I tried to add a printer because it had no signs of recognition. So then when I went to control panel it stated printer name (copy 1) so I deleted this. I think my printer is a USB but I think I defined it to LPT1 so I think I really messed up. But glad NY Giants won and I'll deal with this problem tomorrow. But any suggestions I'll try. Have a good night because I know when to stop. Sometimes feel so smart and some times not so smart. Go to the printers section of control panel When you have highlighted your printer press the application key. Re: [Blind-Computing] authorizing jfw 13
Ok there is no way to remove a key and use it again. Once it is removed it is gone and can only be re-set by fs. If your upgrading though and had a previous version on there it should be able to be authorized again. From that message it looks like there is no update available though. On your last authorized version of jaws go into about in the help sub menu of the jaws context menu. If it is running in system tray hit insert j. If it is not alt tab to the jaws window and get to it from the alt menu. In the about it should have a spot where it tells you how many upgrades you have left. For example if your on 11 like me and it says 2 you can only go up to 13. Hope this helps. -Original Message- From: blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:blind-computing-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Kimsan Sent: Saturday, October 29, 2011 1:38 PM To: BlindComputing Subject: [Blind-Computing] authorizing jfw 13 Hi, I get the following message when I load 13. Well, as long as that second file is in same folder/location as jaws install file itsself, I think the primary jaws install makes use of it during the install process, so don't think you really need to run the second installation yourself as such. Examples of such screens include a PDF file, the setup screen of an application, or the menu of selections on a DVD. JAWS now provides an opportunity to read and interact with these screens, including locating and clicking on text which may be required to activate a control. JAWS 13 also includes Results Viewer, a new HTML interface that displays the results of features like Research It. The new interface enables faster navigation with Navigation Quick Keys and switching to other windows without losing the results of your lookup. Sports scores have returned to Research It and are easier to navigate than ever before. The INSERT+V keystroke now opens the new Quick Settings, which replaces Adjust JAWS Options and matches the easy-to-use Settings Center style interface introduced last year in JAWS 12. "This release represents a huge step in accessibility for screen reader users," says Eric Damery, Vice President of Software Product Management for Freedom Scientific. "Whether trying to identify and read inaccessible PDF documents that are just scanned images or interacting with graphical controls that could not previously be located, the new Convenient OCR option built into JAWS 13 has been described as a real game changer. JAWS 13 is also packed with other features and enhancements that have been selected and designed to improve access and ease of use for all users." The upgrade is an SMA release and can be downloaded as either a 32-bit or 64-bit version from the JAWS downloads page. --- Jacob Kruger Blind Biker Skype: BlindZA '...fate had broken his body, but not his spirit...'
