[Blind-Computing] Fw: Second try, word issue, fixed.
- Original Message - From: Rich To: jaws-users-l...@jaws-users.com Sent: Saturday, December 22, 2012 7:16 AM Subject: Second try, word issue, fixed. Hi all, Thanks to all who assisted. My issue with 14.0 and word was that JAWS would read number of points on blank spaces while in word. With the help of Freedom Scientific technical support, I was able to resolve the issue. I had to go in to programs, JAWS 14, explore, my settings, (and through trial and error) find an item to delete. I think it was, something like word JCF. Anyway, a big thanks to all. Re: [Blind-Computing] hibernation
Hi Anna, Try the following: 1. Open the Control Panel find Power Options press enter to open. 2. When power Options opens you will be on the first tab of the power schemes tab. Home / Office Desk should be selected here. 3. Tab 3 times to your monitor settings combobox, I have mine on 10 minutes just in case the monitor is turned on someone forgets to turn it off, it will turn off after 10 minutes. Tab 1 time to the hard disks combobox, I have mine set on, never. Tab 1 time to the stand by combobox, I have mine set on, never. 4. Tab to the apply button press the spacebar. Now control + tab 2 times to the, Hibernate tab. 5. You should be on the, Enable Hibernation checkbox, if this box is checked, uncheck it with the spacebar. 6. Tab to apply, press the spacebar, tab to okay , press the spacebar or enter to save your changes close. The steps above are the way my computers are set-up these are my preferences. I'm not saying that you should set your computer up this way, I'm just giving an example. I don't want the computer doing anything unless I give the commands to do so. Hope this helps. Take care. Re: [Blind-Computing] Reinstalling Windows XP Pro
Dear Jay! First of all: 1. Save all of your data! It is the first, very first step! Do not let it go! 2. Have a sighted person. 3. Boot from disc, select install. 4. By the partitioning, that is going on, all partition must be deleted, except of your partition, if you have. 5. Make two partition. the partition should so go on: by a 300 gb system: 100 mb for windows 100 gb for the volume c. the other piece for the partition of yourself. 6. Install windows, and set the serial code, that needed, if you bought it. 7. Install all your programms, and see, if your data is in right. God bless! You said you burned them to a data disk. In order to play in other devices you need to burn them to music formatted disks. Hope this helps, Bob. I never used music formatted disks to play MP3's on a regular stereo. I always used standard computer blank CD's, nothing more. I just burn them on as data files and stick the CD in the machine, and it plays, very simple. Rich De Steno On 12/22/2012 4:39 PM, Bob W wrote: You said you burned them to a data disk.
