Re: [Blind-Computing] SuperAnti Spyware Pro users
Hi Mike, I decided to be bold and took the update. At least the one It I was offered required a reboot to complete. I took a very quick look at it with JAWS 10 since I had it running and I didn't want to bother with J12 which was a bit more accessible here than 10 and didn't notice any changes. I did look at the What's New page and there wasn't anything about an update yesterday or today and the last one that was listed was on August 2nd which was the big one for 5.0x. I looked at the update options while I was there and there was a check box for periodically check for application updates and another check box for automatically download and install application updates. I think I got the wording right. Re: [Blind-Computing] SuperAnti Spyware Pro users
Hi Margaret, Since I just went back to 5.0 Pro yesterday, & in doing so I had totally removed SAS from my computers & did a fresh install, the update you received was probably installed with the fresh reinstall, because I haven't received any updates since reinstalling SAS. My guess is that it wouldn't do any harm to update your version since it can't make anything worse, but might make things better. Take care. Hi Gerald, Thank you very much for reminding me of the update tab in SAS preferences, I totally brainfarted on that! I don't have version 4.56 available to me right now so, if this is turned off, does this stop SAS from updating or, just stop showing the reminder notice? Thanks again, take care. Hi Margaret, To do manual scanning you may have to go to the home page & uncheck the scheduled scanning box. I had an open tech support ticket with SAS so I asked them the question you asked, but with a slight twist; " If you use the link for the old Pro 4.56 interface, will SAS still update new / latest definitions without updating the interface etc.? " I will let everyone know the answer when I receive it. Take care. Now, scheduling scans for program updates or system scanning requires the use of both the Jaws & PC cursors, left, right, up, down, arrowing, & tabbing at the correct moments to get schedules made. Then, after you press enter / spacebar on the save button you are taken to the page you are speaking of that if you hold the control key down, it seems to refresh the page, but this doesn't happen on this page running XP, with either Jaws11 or 12. So, what I do is find the close button with the Jaws cursor & left mouse click it, then everything closes fine or, close it by pressing alt + F4. Yes Gerald, using Jaws 11 or 12 you can access threats if there are malicious threats detected, but not with any earlier versions of Jaws. Take care. Re: [Blind-Computing] SuperAnti Spyware Pro users
Hi David, The SAS 5.0 version is somewhat accessible, as we have both found out, but only if you are running Jaws11 or 12. It is not accessible with any earlier versions. Also, we have both learned that about the only part that is accessible is configuring scanning & programming schedules, but even doing these tasks' takes a lot of work using both the Jaws & PC cursors & left, right, up, & down arrowing. Hopefully they will make the rest of the Interface accessible as well. Take care.
