[OSL | CCIE_Voice] SRST mode

2007-11-29 Thread Balamurugan Singaram
Hi,

  BR2, phone1-3001 and phone2-3002 and HQ phone1-1001 and phone2-1002.

When the BR2 is in SRST mode, can I call BR2 from HQ with normal 4 digit
number [3001] or 10 digit pstn numbers to reach BR2.

Normal user from HQ will dial only the 4 digit number to reach BR2 [3001,
3002], but it is not hitting the BR2 phone at SRST mode. But I can call BR2
with 10 digit PSTN number it hitting BR2, It is normal or I should reach the
BR2 with 4 digit number from HQ in SRST mode also.

Please let me know your suggestion.

  Thanks,
  Bala.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Need Clarification on Voice Workbook Mulitprotocol Challenge J, Section 27.15

2007-11-29 Thread Mike Schultz (US)
In that section we are instructed to configure CME in Branch 2. In the
same section, we are also instructed to configure paging for branch 1-
which is off of the CM cluster. I looked at the solution provided in
the manual, and it has different IP Addressing, different number
extensions (5 digits in length) etc. It looks like it is for a
different network entirely. Is this a mis-print in the solution manual
or is this a super advanced way to get paging to work from CME to CCM?

Thanks,

Mike

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SRST mode

2007-11-29 Thread Belicza Zsolt
Hi!
I think you cant reach "simply" the unregistrered branch phones
(registered to SRST routers) with 4 digit dialing. This is solved in
later CM versions (like 4.2) with adding phone parameter "call forward
not registered". In Cm 4.1 you may use a translation pattern (with
partition).

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CUE

2007-11-29 Thread sean hurricane
i keep having this pesky little problem with CUE and i believe it has to do
with transcoding. Most times it works and sometimes it just doesn't. Case in
point tonite i couldn't get calls from CCM to CUE, even pasted same config
that worked the last time and it just wouldn't work. Stripped transcoder
config of all codecs except g711ulaw and g729r8 still did not work. Output
of sh sdspfarm units and sh sccp shows the trancoder as registered but calls
from CCM to CUE still fails. My lab is next week, anyone experiencing same
issue and whats the best way to troubleshoot scenario where trancoder does
not invoke?
