Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] V3 lab module 3 SIP phone problem

2009-03-09 Thread Nara Shikamaru
I don't think the Proctor Guide explains this. The solution shows the local
SIP phone configured without a username and password but the IPBlue phone is
configured for it.

Correct- once the authenticate register cmd is used it is GLOBAL for all

So if you are dealing only with locally attached phones then you don’t need
digest authentication. If you have a mix then all phone must have a
 username.

Okay, I figured this out. To begin with, the tftp error of the phone
trying to find RINGLIST.DAT has nothing to do with SIP device registration
(as suspected. I still need to figure out why this file is missing from my
 flash, though).

Anyway, the syntax in *voice global register* of *authenticate register*is
what was causing the problem. In the Procter Guide, it says that this
syntax is necessary for softphones because they can not register to CME via
their MAC address. Phones that are installed locally, according to the PG
on pg 22, authenticate with their MAC and are not subject to this issue. If
*authenticate register* is configured under *voice register global*, I
believe that all SIP phones configured on the CME, installed either locally
or remotely, will require a username and password configured under their
respective *voice register pool* syntax. Otherwise, remove the line and
the phone registers fine without a username and password.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Study Material for Version 3

2009-03-09 Thread Kamran Ahsanullah
Hi all,
I'm gathering material for V3 and would like a sanity check of the material
I have and need.

1. Firstly if I purchase the latest material from Ipexpert is that V3
material?
2. For CUCM I'll using the SRND, Cisco Unified Communications Manager System
Guide and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Features and Services Guide.
3. For CUPS, Deployment guide for CUPS 7,( need more material, seems light
on)
4. CUC,System Administration Guide for Cisco Unity Connection.
5.CME System Admin guide and SRND
6.GK IOS guide 12.4 Configuring H.323 gatekeepers and proxies,

As you can seen I've probably only got CUCM, CME and possibly GK well
covered.

Going through the remainder of the blueprint, I need good references and
material for the following
   MGCP
SIP
IP-IP Gateway/CUBE
Mobility and Single Number Reach
SRST
AAR
Implement and Troubleshoot Media Resources
Cisco Unity Express
Call Handling and Routing
Implement and Troubleshoot Cisco Unified Presence
CUCM Presence

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express
Advanced Configuration
Script Customization
Redundancy

Implement and Troubleshoot QoS and CAC
L2/L3 Traffic Classifications and Policing
L2/L3 Queuing Mechanisms
L2 LFI
RSVP
Call Admission Control
what are people using for the above, is there good material for the above
topics on CCO ?
If not what are other people using?

Ie, at any time only one CCM pub or CME able to register to Gatekeeper. They

when CME register first to GK, CCM cannot register.

All of networks are reachable.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] 7911 Phone registration problem

2009-03-09 Thread Cliff McGlamry
I'm assuming here that you're attempting to auto register the phone. In
addition to the device pack required to get support for the 7911, you should
confirm that the server it is attempting to register with is enabled for auto
registration. Sometimes, if you're dealing with this, it's attempting to
register to the wrong side (where is option 150 pointed?). You can shortcut
this by simply turning on auto registration on both sides for troubleshooting.

Another possibility is that the phone has picked up a security configuration
along the way. If that's the case, you may need to do a reset to factory
defaults to clear it.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Easyvpn issue with ASA5505

2009-03-09 Thread Daniel Dellinger

I'll start by saying that i'm very green on the ASA. Just bought ASA5505 for
sole purpose to use with Voice Rack - Easyvpn.

During my last voice rack session.
I followed instructions (write erase, reload) then copied and pasted config I
got for ASA5505 from proctor labs for rack 33. First problem was their was a
syntax error on statement secure-unit-authentication enable. Quick search
reveled that this command should be under group-policy, but it is not under ASA
config I downloaded form proctorlabs.

Second the commands below were not accepted on the ASA. ( tried both 8.x and
7.x on asa, commands not accepted).
crypto ipsec client ezvpn connect
crypto ipsec client ezvpn xauth.

I did do a vpnclient connect and then authentication came up and I put in
username/password, then did show command and saw tunnel established. But I was
not able to ping servers (nor get phones registered). My pc was on same inside
vlan as phones and I was able to connect to proctor lab routers without issue.
I also loaded final LabA config but still unable to ping/connect to UCM (but
from hq-rtr I was able to ping UCM).

Any guidance is appreciated. I want to get started on labs and use my phones
at home.

Oklet me see if I have this straight:

1. You have a GK between CCM and CME as primary for call routing

2. You have a direct connection between the two as a trunk or some type of
gateway

When a call comes IN from CME to CCM, it uses the settings from #2 for both
call types unless there is a CUBE terminating the signaling on the GK? Is
that what you're saying?

VIK: YES.

Second question...I was reading an article you wrote last year. I can see
how you could define CME as just a gateway. You can also define an
intercluster trunk between them (non GK controlled). Is one better than the
otherand why?

VIK: Gateway- but not too important. Possibility of running into
Ringback and Answer Supervision problems when using ICT to CME.

The k character is from ip blue. Close this down and relaunch and you
 shouldn't see it.

Regarding your issue, if the signaling ip of the cme is defined in ccm, as an
h323 gateway for example, then the gateway settings are used for inbound
calls- css, sig digits, etc...and NOT the trunk.

I will fix the part where the secure-unit-authentication enable is in the
incorrect place.
Are you still connected? If so, can you setup telnet to your ASA from anywhere
telnet 0 0 0 0 (I believe is the command off the top of my head)?I will then
connect and help you troubleshoot your session so that it will work properly
