I'll start by saying that i'm very green on the
ASA. Just bought ASA5505 for sole purpose to use with Voice
 Rack - Easyvpn.

During my last voice rack session.
I followed instructions (write erase, reload) then copied
and pasted config I got for ASA5505 from proctor labs for
rack 33. First problem was their was a syntax error on
 statement secure-unit-authentication enable.
Quick search reveled that this command should be under
group-policy, but it is not under ASA config I downloaded
 form proctorlabs.

Second the commands below were not accepted on the ASA. (
tried both 8.x and 7.x on asa, commands not accepted).
 crypto ipsec client ezvpn connect
 crypto ipsec client ezvpn xauth.

I did do a vpnclient connect and then authentication came
up and I put in username/password, then did show command and
saw tunnel established. But I was not able to ping servers
(nor get phones registered). My pc was on same inside vlan
as phones and I was able to connect to proctor lab routers
without issue. I also loaded final LabA config but still
unable to ping/connect to UCM (but from hq-rtr I was able to
 ping UCM).

Any guidance is appreciated. I want to get started on labs
and use my phones at home.

 Hi Daniel,

I will fix the part where the
 secure-unit-authentication enable is
 in the incorrect place.

Are you still connected? If so, can you setup telnet to
 your ASA from

command off the top of my

I will then connect and help you troubleshoot your session
 so that it

 Thanks!

The call preserve command is only available with a fairly new 12.4T code.
Stick with the 'no h225 keepalive timeout'.

I think you need the no h225 timeout keepalive configured under the
voice service voip / h323.
This will allow the call to stay up after the GW stops receiving
keepalives from the CM.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2169/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080558061.html
H.323 Gateways and SRST
On H.323 gateways, when the WAN link fails, active calls from Cisco IP
phones to the PSTN are not maintained by default. Call preservation may
work with the no h225 timeout keepalive command, but call preservation
using the no h225 timeout keepalive command is not officially supported by
Cisco Technical Support.
Under default configuration, the H.323 gateway maintains a keepalive
signal with Cisco CallManager and terminates H.323-to-PSTN calls if the
keepalive signal fails, for example if the WAN link fails. To disable this
behavior and help preserve existing calls from local IP phones, you can
use the no h225 timeout keepalivecommand. Disabling the keepalive
mechanism only affects calls that will be torn down as a result of the
loss of the H.225 keepalive signal. For information regarding
disconnecting a call when an inactive condition is detected. see the Media
Inactive Call Detection document.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Strange - Why CCM and CME exclusively register to Gatekeeper?

2009-03-10 Thread Jiahong - tobeccie Fang

Yes - I verified no 'E164 numbers' registered - 'show gatek endpoint' only
display CME-HKG H323-id; also for all ephone-dn, ephone-hunt, I gave them
'no-reg both'.

For gatekeeper, I think I may try it 'zone prefix GK 2*' other than
non-asterisk. By default, GK should add 'asterisk' by itself. But it worth try.

Will lab it up again and send ARQ/ARJ later on.

Thanks alot Vik.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Strange - Why CCM and CME exclusively register to
Gatekeeper?

Check that when the CME registers it does not register any of the “E164
numbers” - that means any extension number assigned to a phone or huntgroup.
Specifically any number that begins with a “2” or “4” which would overlap with
the zone prefixes configured.

BTW- I’m assuming you haven’t type the correct configuration within the
gatekeeper- the zone prefix requires a zone to be defined and also probably an
asterisk after the “2” and “4”.

If you have this lab’d up- use “debug h225 asn1” and send the ARQ/ARJ from CME
when the CME registration fails.

Strange - Why CCM and CME exclusively register to Gatekeeper?

Ie, at any time only one CCM pub or CME able to register to Gatekeeper. They
cannot register to GK at same time.

For instance, when CCM pub register first to GK, in CME site, it should
'registration failed after retry 2';

when CME register first to GK, CCM cannot register.

All of networks are reachable.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Any Solution for: G729 call failed when CCM - CME BACD via Gatekeeper??

2009-03-10 Thread Jiahong - tobeccie Fang

CCM and CME all register to GK, call between CCM and CME is G729. Call ip
phones between each site work well.

Only problem is: when call from CCM to CME BACD say: DN:8800, it failed. When
debug script in CME, can see 'aa' script did play prompt.

For gk trunk in CCM site, turn on or off 'wait for far-end h245 terminial

Does anyone have quick solution for it?

You need Xcoder. BACD supports only G711 and since you are doing G729, you'll

CCM and CME all register to GK, call between CCM and CME is G729. Call ip
phones between each site work well.

Only problem is: when call from CCM to CME BACD say: DN:8800, it failed. When
debug script in CME, can see 'aa' script did play prompt.

Jan 29 22:09:33.674: //214//TCL :/tcl_PutsObjCmd: TCL AA: ++ Playing Welcome
Prompt and options menu ++

For gk trunk in CCM site, turn on or off 'wait for far-end h245 terminial
capability set' - same result.

I know this is known issue.

Does anyone have quick solution for it?

Thanks

James

If you apply the service policy input to the Interface Vlan of the Br1 could

Any other workaround to mark all SCCP and RTP packets to respective DSCP values
on this module? I could successfully do it on Cat 3550 with access-list + port
range though.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] access to 6509 proctorlabs.com

2009-03-10 Thread CCIE OSL

This may sound strange,
For some reason, I was not able to type in a command in 6509.
I was able to log into 6509, but when I put in sh port or sh vlan, it
freezes and will not come back.

This is from my 3640 EZVPN router.

So, I tried via regular Cisco VPN, it work fine.

I am using standard ACL from proctorlabs.com

This is a nice feature of catos that affects us all from time to time.
Configure the port by referencing the table. Or try telnet from the ccm.
