Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] h.323 gateway config call preserve
I think you need the no h225 timeout keepalive configured under the voice service voip / h323.This will allow the call to stay up after the GW stops receiving keepalives from the CM. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps2169/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a0080558061.htmlH.323 Gateways and SRST On H.323 gateways, when the WAN link fails, active calls from Cisco IP phones to the PSTN are not maintained by default. Call preservation may work with the *no h225 timeout keepalive* command, but call preservation using the *no h225 timeout keepalive* command is not officially supported by Cisco Technical Support. Under default configuration, the H.323 gateway maintains a keepalive signal with Cisco CallManager and terminates H.323-to-PSTN calls if the keepalive signal fails, for example if the WAN link fails. To disable this behavior and help preserve existing calls from local IP phones, you can use the *no h225 timeout keepalive*command. Disabling the keepalive mechanism only affects calls that will be torn down as a result of the loss of the H.225 keepalive signal. Just bought ASA5505 for sole purpose to use with Voice Rack - Easyvpn. During my last voice rack session. I followed instructions (write erase, reload) then copied and pasted config I got for ASA5505 from proctor labs for rack 33. First problem was their was a syntax error on statement secure-unit-authentication enable. Quick search reveled that this command should be under group-policy, but it is not under ASA config I downloaded form proctorlabs. Second the commands below were not accepted on the ASA. ( tried both 8.x and 7.x on asa, commands not accepted). crypto ipsec client ezvpn connect crypto ipsec client ezvpn xauth. I did do a vpnclient connect and then authentication came up and I put in username/password, then did show command and saw tunnel established. But I was not able to ping servers (nor get phones registered). My pc was on same inside vlan as phones and I was able to connect to proctor lab routers without issue. I also loaded final LabA config but still unable to ping/connect to UCM (but from hq-rtr I was able to ping UCM). Any guidance is appreciated. I want to get started on labs and use my phones at home. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Strange - Why CCM and CME exclusively register to Gatekeeper?
Yes - I verified no 'E164 numbers' registered - 'show gatek endpoint' only display CME-HKG H323-id; also for all ephone-dn, ephone-hunt, I gave them 'no-reg both'. For gatekeeper, I think I may try it 'zone prefix GK 2*' other than non-asterisk. By default, GK should add 'asterisk' by itself. But it worth try. Will lab it up again and send ARQ/ARJ later on. Check that when the CME registers it does not register any of the “E164 numbers” - that means any extension number assigned to a phone or huntgroup. Specifically any number that begins with a “2” or “4” which would overlap with the zone prefixes configured. BTW- I’m assuming you haven’t type the correct configuration within the gatekeeper- the zone prefix requires a zone to be defined and also probably an asterisk after the “2” and “4”. Where is the proper place to strip tech prefix in call manager? ??
Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] access to 6509 proctorlabs.com
