I would think that the end result would be anything in the 7.X.X train is
testable. I don't forsee them jumping major revisions like that as the
additional content available is to be pretty substantial.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] EZVPN Connectivity

2010-02-10 Thread IYERK
Hi folks,

I am currently using the Software VPN with softphones to test the lab
configurations. I am using the IP Blue trial version and it keeps
restarting. I would like to try the EZVPN connectivity with a 2801 router
(with Fa0/0 Fa0/1), 3750 POE and Cisco IP Phones 7962. I have the cable
modem connection for internet access with a Linksys wireless router. The
Linksys wireless router is set-up to do dhcp.

I have the following questions:

1) Should I connect the 2801 Fa0/0 directly to the cable modem? If so,
can I still use the wireless router while being connected to EZVPN?
2) Should I disable the DHCP on the wireless router? Does the standard
Proctor labs configs include DHCP on the router?
3) Physical connectivity : Cable modem --- 2801 Fa0/0
  2801 Fa 0/1 3750 switch
Configuration laptop/desktop
3750 switch --- Linksys wireless router
Is this correct?
4) Is there any configuration on 3750 switch that need to be done?

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kalyan

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] EZVPN Connectivity

2010-02-10 Thread Roger Källberg
Hi Kalyan
There are configuration examples for both router and switch on Proctor Labs
home page and also on their forum.

For the physical connection it might look more like this.

Cable modem --- Linksys wireless router 2801 Fa0/0 (VPN outside)

2801 Fa 0/1 (VPN inside) 3750 switch Configuration laptop/desktop
3750 switch --- Your home hw phones

With this setup you have your home network untouched, ie as it is today, and
your new IPExpert study home network will be separated from this. The only new
thing that will exist on the same IP network as your other home stuff is the
2801 Fa0/0 interface that should have a IP from that network range.

And yes the config examples from PL do have DHCP scopes, but these has nothing
to do with your home DHCP scope that you have today in your Linksys router.
That should be kept as is.

Best of luck,

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] BW Calculation Question

2010-02-10 Thread Otto Sanchez
Hi Jeff,

I would calculate and configure on the routers exactly the amount of voice
bandwidth (including L2) required for the number of calls you planned to
traverse across the whole path, in that way you will set what you will
actually consume for each link. In UCM will always be the same L3 value, no
matter the L2 overhead if you are using UCM CAC.

If your topology includes multiple paths that the voice stream could use to
get from one end to the other and different L2 technologies, I would do the
same, but this time reserving the amount of bandwidth that could be used for
voice for each link, and using rsvp + llq, you should take into
consideration the srnd best practices in terms of the bw calculation in
these cases,

Thanks,

What if a call between two voip phones traverses an FRF.8 ATM to F/R
environment running MLPPP (with ethernet on each end). Do you simply
consider the call's bandwidth to be the worst case scenario along the path?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] 1719 issue....

2010-02-10 Thread Paul Dardinski
I'm looking for some help re: via gk intrazone UCM-CME

Basically with the below I'm able to egress call from UCM via GK to
remote BR2. However, ingress calls via BR2-to-UCM are failing.
Configuration of course works if I don't use viazone, but enabling the
via seems to be causing issue with UCM. Below see my pertinent configs.
UCM has a translation inbound dropping the prefix 7. Note that I'm
currently running 729 on both legs and UCM has cac set to 729 to BR2.
Config works if running straight non-via (remove the invia/outvia).
Ignore the static statement as I have tried with and without it, but
leaving it in for the moment unless someone can advise? Any tips here
would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

Paul

 Sean,

Try removing ?mwi stutter? from voice register global, create
 profile, reset
and then initiate a resync from Unity Connection.

 Amy

Voice Candidates,

After working with a few customers I have verified that using Virtual-Template
interfaces seem to solve all problems that have been discussed lately on the
forum with new phone types lack of audio, etc.  Please make sure you are using
the latest configuration templates when connecting to proctorlabs.  I have
given the templates to support and hopefully it will be uploaded to Proctorlabs
sometime tomorrow.

The following is required to use the latest configuration files
A router that will support Cisco IOS 12.4T.  A lot of earlier codes have bugs
so it would be best if you have the latest versions available off of Cisco.com.
Currently the ASA is not supported
The Cisco VPN client is still compatible if you will just be using soft
phones.  Using the VPN client with Network sharing is no longer supported.
I will update the list if in the future the ASA is fixed by Cisco and supports
our implementation

If anyone has problems with features not functioning and you believe it to be
related to the VPN while connected please direct them my way.  I would like to
make sure you guys are having a good experience and there should be no reason
not to if you are using the newest configurations with the IOS required.

Good Luck in your studies.

 Hi Kalyan
There are configuration examples for both router and switch on
Proctor Labs home page and also on their forum.

For the physical connection it might look more like this.

Cable modem --- Linksys wireless router 2801 Fa0/0 (VPN
 outside)

2801 Fa 0/1 (VPN inside) 3750 switch Configuration
 laptop/desktop
3750 switch --- Your home hw phones

With this setup you have your home network untouched, ie as it is
today, and your new IPExpert study home network will be separated
from this. The only new thing that will exist on the same IP network
as your other home stuff is the 2801 Fa0/0 interface that should
have a IP from that network range.

And yes the config examples from PL do have DHCP scopes, but these
has nothing to do with your home DHCP scope that you have today in
your Linksys router. That should be kept as is.

 Best of luck,

?mne: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] EZVPN Connectivity

 Hi folks,

I am currently using the Software VPN with softphones to test the
lab configurations. I am using the IP Blue trial version and it
keeps restarting. I would like to try the EZVPN connectivity with a
2801 router (with Fa0/0 Fa0/1), 3750 POE and Cisco IP Phones
7962. I have the cable modem connection for internet access with a
Linksys wireless router. The Linksys wireless router is set-up to do
 dhcp.

 I have the following questions:

 1) Should I connect the 2801 Fa0/0 directly to the cable modem? If
so, can I still use the wireless router while being connected to
 EZVPN?
 2) Should I disable the DHCP on the wireless router? Does the
standard Proctor labs configs include DHCP on the router?
 3) Physical connectivity : Cable modem --- 2801 Fa0/0
  2801 Fa 0/1 3750 switch
 Configuration laptop/desktop
3750 switch --- Linksys wireless router
 Is this correct?
 4) Is there any configuration on 3750 switch that need to be done?

Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

 Thanks
 Kalyan
