Crap. I know my mistake now. Reading the technotes more closely, I've been
using the default URL with "IPAgentInitial.jsp". Suppose to use the one
after with "IPAgentLogin.jsp."

2010-09-30 Thread David Lee
Hi Alex,

Thanks for replying. I think there is a misunderstanding.

The Single Button Sign-on I was talking about is IP Phone Agent. After I
configure it, and press the services button, I still have to sign the agent
on. The credentials I enter on the phone are the ones I put under the
service subscription.

Anyways, it does not seem to work. (It worked before cuz I never logged the
agent out. :) ) I gotta do some troubleshooting...

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Dumb question about Agent Single Sign Button Sign-on

2010-09-30 Thread David Lee
Hello,

I can't remember the proper behavior, so if would be great if someone can
confirm for me. I've configured Agent Single Sign Button Sign-on, but I
still need to log the agent in with credentials/extension the FIRST TIME.
Afterwards, the agent can login without entering the credential again. Is
that the right behavior, or should agent single button sign-on work from the
first time?

Thanks,

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Adding Subscriber on VMware

2010-09-30 Thread xmunish
Follow these steps on adding Sub so that you don't get DB Sync problems
later.

1) On Pub add the NTP via OS administration (could be the loop back of HQ
RTR as NTP source)
2) Add Subscriber in the Publisher Server. Also if you're using ESX, add PUB
and SUB MAC addresses along with IPs.
3) SSH to PUB - run utils ntp status to make sure it's synced to NTP source
4) Start installing the SUB - during the installation make sure it finds the
PUB (if not do it again)
5) Once SUB is installed OK - Start all services in SUB
6) RTMT to PUB after 10 mins. And make sure the status of DB replication is
OK
7) Take the snapshot of PUB as Base Config

I hope this helps.

Hi Bernhard,

My understanding is that CUC can sometimes originate calls, which could be
routed back to it.
E.g. voicemail notification for a DN with cfwdall back to CUC would end up
as an endless loop of CUC speaking with itself.

Have a look at options at:
CUC Administration > Telephony Integration > Phone System > Call Loop
Detection by Using DTMF

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Adding Subscriber on VMware

2010-09-30 Thread Bill Lake
Hello Tammer,

I am using ESXi to run my lab. You install the Pub first, then you add the
Sub to the pub under servers. Then you install the sub on VMWare and point
to the Pub. If for some reason this fails it is most likely your networking
of the VM's. I have found it best to give them actual IP's on the network
and not do nat or local networking to the VM environment. Hope this helps.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Speed for taking the Lab

2010-09-30 Thread Daniel Berlinski
HI Pithog

Here comes my suggestion:
Choose one lab and change the IP addresses in your environment, the number
plan, and the physical position of the phones you work with on your desk,
introduce infrastructure probs, make sure you make it very hard for your
phones to register.

Review the troubleshooting IP Tel book on chapter 3 I think speaks about
phone registration and there is a white paper on cisco.com that talks about
common phone registration probs, make sure you are familiar with those and
practice those scenarios so you can see the symptoms happening before you in
the stress room chamber

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Speed for taking the Lab

2010-09-30 Thread Amp

Hey Pithog,
You ask a tough question my friend. I think some of the things that
you need to consider are how well do you know the core technologies
and how fast can you correctly configure them? Based upon the forums
and the practice labs there are going to be some things that you will
need to know how to configure rather swiftly. Will you have CME with
SCCP and SIP phones to configure on your lab? Who knows but it would
be a good idea to know how to configure CME in a matter of minutes.
Can you configure IOS media resources as fast as you can type your
name? If not then ask yourself why not. Start configuring H323, MGCP,
and Gatekeepers in notepad. If you can do it in notepad with little to
no screw-ups then you can do it in the router lightning fast. Are you
able to read the question and not over-complicate what's being asked?
How fast can you configure COR? Furthermore what's your strategy? Do
you plan on configuring once and copying, modifying, and pasting? What
do you know really well and what do you need help in? Spend as much
time trying to master the areas that you are weak in. Also remember,
it is very possible that the IPX labs are more difficult than the
actual lab so if you can't get through the IPX labs in less than 8
hours, can you do the core of what's being asked in a timely manner?
So in my opinion, configure as much as you can in notepad to ensure
you know the configuration steps inside and out. During your steps
write out the steps to configure what's being asked. Do this without
looking it up and see where you are coming up short. I know I didn't
directly answer your question but I hope that helps.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] UCX preventing from answering calls that it originated

2010-09-30 Thread Stutz, Bernhard
Hi,

I came across a question that is always within a Unity Connection integration:

"The UC server should be prevented from answering calls that it originated."

I am not sure what this means. Could someone please shed some light on it?
Is there a checkbox somewhere that needs to be checked in order to achieve
this?
I can't find a explanation for this at the solutions so far, so i was guessing
that this is given anyway.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] FW: CME and SIP Phone Presence

2010-09-30 Thread CCIE Voice GMAIL
I wouldn't be so obvious if it was a real lab question, simply something I'm
building on my own.

Just a note, I am using entirely SIP, so SCCP wouldn't matter and to assume
that SCCP and SIP will behave the same way would seem troublesome to me. If
someone has done CME presence with SIP Phones and comment on this I would
appreciate it, otherwise I will assume that this is how SIP Phones will
function with presence in CME.

There is SCPH1 with extension 4001 and SCPH2 with extension 4002. Both are
configured with BLFs to point to the other phone. When I pick up SCPH1, the
BLF on SCHPH2 does nothing. However, if I make a call with SCHPH1, the BLF
on SCHPH2 will turn red.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this the accurate way to function

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CME and SIP Phone Presence

2010-09-30 Thread CCIE Voice GMAIL
Hi Fab,

This is just a scenario I'm configuring on my own, no labs. I am just
attempting to build an entire lab with only SIP just to better understand
how this all works. I read that Ben stated at Cisco Live that there was an
intention to involve SIP now in the exam. I want to make sure that I can
handle SIP and eventually the internetworking of SIP and H323.

Hey Jeff,

Hope this email finds you well. Which Lab are you working on? And would it
be possible to share the questions with me? Maybe we can work on it together
as I will be sitting for my lab in less than 30 days. Hope to hear from you
soon.

Fab

Nevermind. I didn't realize you have to start dialing before the BLF will
register.

Thanks anyways,

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] QOS solution required.

2010-09-30 Thread voice-gang voice-gang
8.1 Switch QoS

2) On port fa 1/0/13 which is connected to HQ Phone 1, guarantee 32k for

incoming SCCP signaling traffic. Excess traffic should be marked to DSCP 8
and

then transmitted. By default, IP Phones mark SCCP signaling traffic to CS3.

(3 points)
8.2 Link fragmentation and Interleaving

There is 384k frame-relay PVC between HQ and SiteB. Configure R1 and R2 to
enable MLP, link fragmentation and interleaving on this circuit.
(2 points)

Regarding the WAN qos if i will configure the HQ to SB my SC link become 56
K
So i can achieve this task by adding the class map of T1 link to SC but do
we have to do this or not.
