Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] auto qos voip trust issue

2011-08-06 Thread CCIEVoiceKP
You need to create a map-class and set your cir, mincir, be, etc and apply it
to the affected frame-relay interface. What your seeing is expected behavior
once auto qos applies frame-relay traffic shaping to the main interface.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Gatekeeper with CUBE

2011-08-06 Thread Pablo Meneses
CUCM by default does slow start and cube does fast start, that is
called an interworking issue. You can try the following:
Make CUCM fast start by adding a valid resource with the right codec
on CUCM and on the MTP or you can add the call start interwork
command under voice service voip on the CUBE router. In my personal
opinion I think that it would be better

I am using cisco 2801 with 2 fxo cards. Running CME

Is this possible or do i need to define outside access code for both these

Have u tried to use the Cisco VMWare image file instead of generic. It can be
downloaded from Wikipedia. Also I have done this and it worked no prob. You may
not have names the ISO file correctly.

 Hello all,
I downloaded three files of UNREST version from cisco download , merged them
and built an iso image however when trying to boot a vm machine on an esx UCS
servers it complains and instead looking at DHCP for network location to find
an image. This is when i am trying to boot it from local CD/DVD drive or from a
loca storage source. Also what is confusing about these files is that in
release notes for 8.5(1) it says this iso can be used for fresh new install as
well as upgrade but then on :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7273/prod_release_notes_list.html
page 4

Before You Begin
In Cisco Unified Communications Manager 8.5(1), the image available for
download from Cisco.com is
a bootable image that can be burned to DVD and used for both upgrades and fresh
installs. Cisco Unified
Communications Manager 8.5(1) upgrade DVDs ordered from Cisco are also bootable
for use with
upgrades or fresh installs.

Then on page 8 it says :

Note Because the UCSInstall_UCOS_8.5.1.1-26 build specifies a nonbootable
ISO, the build proves
useful only for upgrades. You cannot use this build for new installations.

it can boot on vmware but not esxi .

I am still working to figure it if its really an issue with iso image i created
or VMware.

i saw some post in internet ,ppl said we can make it bootable ,how to do it ?

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] BLF call list issue

2011-08-06 Thread nizar abuseni
Hello,

I have an issue with BLF Call list, I am not able to see the DN status from the
directory. The only way it works if the DN is in null partition.
I did the following:
Phone 1 : 1000 PT_1
Phone 2: Subscribe CSS: CSS that contains only PT_1
both of the phones are in the same default Presence group, and the subscription
is configured as allowed, also the Call-list is enable from the enterprise
parameters.

The above scenario is non working one, if I put phone 1 DN in a null partition
then phone 2 can see the status of phone 1 from the directory.

should I restart the callmanager for that to work? Also when should I do
subscribe CSS from the end configuration page?

Thanks a lot

This is not a power supply issue, if he did not have a PoE capable power
supply he would not even get a listing of the PoE power. Here is a sample
from a 3560 that is a 48 port model and is PoE

It has 370 watts to disperse to the ports. That is less than 10 per port in
my case but since say a 7962 might use 7 it should be enough to power for

So this is interestingI can duplicate Michael's scenario.

I have two phones plugged into my 3750. Here is the show power inline
 output:

 Module Available Used Remaining
  (Watts) (Watts)(Watts)
 -- - -

Interface Admin Oper Power Device Class Max

 - -- -- --- --- -

 Fa1/0/5 auto on 15.4IP Phone 7965 3 15.4
 omitted

Now I went in and statically defined and effectively disabled the power
 negotiation.

 int range f1/0/1 - 24
  power inline static max 15400

and the show power inline output

 Module Available Used Remaining
  (Watts) (Watts)(Watts)
 -- - -
 1 370.0 369.6 0.4
Interface Admin Oper Power Device Class Max
(Watts)
 - -- -- --- --- -
 Fa1/0/1 static off15.4n/a n/a 15.4
 Fa1/0/2 static on 15.4IP Phone 7965 3 15.4
 Fa1/0/3 static off15.4n/a n/a 15.4

 Fa1/0/5 static on 15.4IP Phone 7965 3 15.4
 Fa1/0/6 static off15.4n/a n/a 15.4

Removing that command returned my show power inline output to 370/30.8 (as
 expected)

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Bandwidth Interzone w/ MTP Issue

2011-08-06 Thread Brian Rudy
Hello -

The call flow I am working on looks like this
hq-phone(sccp)-gk-cube-cme-phone(sccp). I am working on Vol 2, Lab 1,
Sections 4.2 and 5.1. The requirement in 4.2 is to ensure supplementary
services are working on UCM and UCME while routing calls through the
GK/CUBE. My gatekeeper controlled trunk on UCM is in a g729 only device
pool. Calls are working as expected up to this point.

Here is a sh gatekeeper calls while a calls is in progress from UCM to UCME
(I am using 16K from UCM to GK and 128K from CUBE to UCME, Life is good):

siteA-rtr#sh gatek calls
Total number of active calls = 2.
 GATEKEEPER CALL INFO

LocalCallIDAge(secs) BW
36-32987 7 16(Kbps)
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr
   src EP: gk-trunk_15002
   CallSignalAddr Port RASSignalAddr Port
   10.10.210.101720 10.10.210.1032789
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr
   dst EP: CUBE 3002
   CallSignalAddr Port RASSignalAddr Port
   10.10.200.3 1720 10.10.200.3 57956
LocalCallIDAge(secs) BW
37-32987 7 128(Kbps)
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr
   src EP: CUBE 5002
   CallSignalAddr Port RASSignalAddr Port
   10.10.200.3 1720 10.10.200.3 57956
 Endpt(s): Alias E.164Addr
   dst EP: siteC-rtr 3002
   CallSignalAddr Port RASSignalAddr Port
   10.10.110.3 1720 10.10.110.3 63151

I proceed to setup an IOS MTP using G729 put this in an mrgl/mrg, assign to
HQ and BR1 and G729 only (GK Trunk) device pools and check the Media
Termination Point Required checkbox on the Trunk. I also put the UCM
software mtps in an mrg so they would be hidden. Finally, I set the BRQ
enabled flag to True in UCM Service Parameters. Calls from UCM to UCME
are still successful and now my supplementary services on UCM are working as
well.

My show gatekeeper calls is the same as above after I enable my MTP.

Then, I proceed to question 5.1 where it states to ensure the gatekeeper
can only allow 2 calls between the UCM and UCME using the command:
bandwidth interzone zone UCM 32. I have multiple zones UCM and UCME per the
lab requirement.

My calls fail every time now, in both directions. I did a debug h225 asn1
and see that the admission request and confirm are requesting 160 or 16K
of bandwidth for calls to Gatekeeper. When I remove the bandwidth interzone
command from my gatekeeper config, calls work again.

Here is my gatekeeper config:

gatekeeper
 zone local UCM ipexpert.com
zone local UCME ipexpert.com outvia VGK
 zone local VGK ipexpert.com
 zone prefix UCM 1... gw-priority 10 gk-trunk_2
 zone prefix UCM 1... gw-priority 9 gk-trunk_1
 zone prefix UCM 1... gw-priority 0 siteC-rtr
 zone prefix UCME 3... gw-priority 10 siteC-rtr
 zone prefix UCME 3... gw-priority 0 gk-trunk_1 gk-trunk_2

 zone prefix UCM 5... gw-priority 0 siteC-rtr
 zone prefix UCM 9*
 gw-type-prefix 1#* default-technology
 bandwidth interzone zone UCM 32
 no shutdown

If anyone could shed some light onto what the problem might be, that would
be great. Thanks!

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] FXO lines !

2011-08-06 Thread Brad Ferguson
On CME just put on the dial-peer something like destination-pattern 999T and
then on the ephone-dn for that ext just enter the command trunk 999 and
assign that ephone-dn to button 2 on the ephone, when the user presses button 2
for example and makes a call, it will prepend the 999 on the call therefore
going on the dial-peer with the destination patter 999T. Had to do this
numerous times for doc offices with private lines dedicated for them to make
outbound calls.

and yes, for CME you will have to use COR..

Now, how exactly is this a ccie lab exam study question? There are no FXO

configure 2 different line to use the 2 fxo line separately... i mean each

gets FXO line 1, and when he press 2 he gets FXO line 2.

Is this possible or do i need to define outside access code for both these

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] RESOLVED: URGENT REQUEST-[HELP W/POWER PROBLEM::3750 NOT GETTING POE OR BOOTING CORRECTLY

2011-08-06 Thread Michael.Sears
Switch finally would not boot. It stayed at the switch: prompt. The image was
corrupt. Had to XMODEM new image onto the switch. The switch finally booted
up with the new code, but had all kinds of trace backs. Turns out the front
end controller in the switch was flaky and POE was dead.

Had to replace switch. Thanks to all for your help I learned a lot from you
all and tried all of your suggestions. Right now the switch is up and
operational but no POE. It does show the power available and when you plug in
a device is shows a power device was plugged in, but it doesn't issue any power
to the device. That's because the front end controller is flaky.

Oh well. What a long day. Maybe I can actually start labing now. I've got
other little things to figure out anyway.
