[OSL | CCIE_Voice] Default Region
Hi All, Config : XYZ --G729- SiteA_Region Just discovered why Changing the Name of Default Region to SiteA_Region is done instead of making a new Region called SiteA_Region. While receiving call from Gatekeeper (Region XYZ) to Site A Phone (Region SiteA_Region) the show gatekeeper calls output displays G711 codec even if the actual Call is G729. Resolution any one of below: 1. XYZ G729--- Default ; making G729 between G729 and XYZ region. (Even though Default region is no where related to my configuration, this solves the issue- Tried and Tested) 2. Rename Default Region as SiteA_Region and change intraregion service parameter to G729 and Specify SiteA to Site A as G711 on region setting (Never Tried) But why this happens ? Can anyone explain how default region comes into picture ?? * I Have already checked the dependency records of region default and it is not applied anywhere except Media resources and Device Defaults ; checked Removing MTP Media resource from Default region ; still same results ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Default Region
Hi All , Tested the 2nd scenarios as well. That is also a correct resolution. Now I am more confused , How can a Inter-region call be affected by an Intraregion Service Parameter Setting ? [OSL | CCIE_Voice] mva
Hi colleaguesI set up mva and I think is working good, but I don't know if this is an issue.Calling from my SNR to MVA is working, MVA asks for my pin number, then press 1, after that I dialed internal 4 digit extension but this internal phoneonly shows the caller number and not the caller name.I think is normal behavior, but when a calling from my SNR directly to a internal extension, it shows the caller number and the caller id.What do you think ?best regards!AM ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? I am seeing the same thing for my MVA setup.I also presume this is expected behavior, but I'm not able to find any bug report or any concrete Cisco document to back it up though. Some people seems to report that the name will display after the call is connected. I can't reproduce that behavior, just the caller number for me during ringing and connected state of the call --- when made via MVA pilot number. Call directly from SNR number, i.e. Enterprise Feature Access, seems to be no problem with both Calling Name and Number. I'll be interested to see whether anyone else have different outcome.
