[OSL | CCIE_Voice] QoS on switch

If I want Q1 to get 25 % BW, Q2 20%, Q3 40% and Q4 40%

srr-queue bandwidth share 25 20 48 7
srr-queue bandwidth shaped 33 0 0 0

As Shape takes precedence over Shared and if we set Shape to 0 for that
value, Share BW will be applied. Not sure if the above solution work ?

2010-04-29 Thread Roger Henderson
You're never going to get more than 100% bandwidth without upgrading your
link. :)

What you've got here is 3% (1/33 as shaped uses inverse logic), 32.3, 32.3,
32.3 as the 0 queues all share the remaining BW equally. That's all true
if my memory serves me correctly, anyhow.

Priority-queue out sets port 1 on the egress to be the priority queue. Only
queue 1 can be an egress priority queue on the 3750.

Thx for your kind clarification, now if I have to also enable PQ will I have to
enable priority-queue out on the interface but in that case Q1 will still be
the PQ or there will be one more Q assigned but I think the port only has 4
egress Qs ?

Hi, when you set 1 in share like share 1 x x x you are telling the switch
to take the shape value for this queue, 33% in the previous example

Appreciate your reply on this... have some doubt ...

**you have assigned shape 3 for Q1 and Share 1 for Q1 - so in this case
why we need to have 1 on share ?

CAT2970(config-if-range)# srr-queue bandwidth shape 3 0 0 0 !Q1 is
limited to 1/3 of the total available BW
CAT2970(config-if-range)# srr-queue bandwidth share 1 70 25 5 ! Q2 gets
70% of remaining BW; Q3 gets 25% and Q4 gets 5

*Also the second statement shd be share 1 70 25 0 instead of share
1 70 25 1 right pls ??

Oops, Angel is right - I didn't notice your share command there (which replaces
the 32.3, 32.3, 32.3) with appropriate ratios.

little correction .pls...

If I want Q1 to get 33 % BW, Q2 20%, Q3 48% and Q4 7%

srr-queue bandwidth share 25 20 48 7
srr-queue bandwidth shaped 33 0 0 0

As Shape takes precedence over Shared and if we set Shape to 0 for that value,
Share BW will be applied. Not sure if the above solution work ?
