Crystaltech session invalid error
On the CT forum some people have mentioned that their 6.1 servers are now showing session invalid errors, even though they are using a session timeout of 20 mins as per the J2EE and CF Admin settings. Is anyone here having that problem? I'm looking at hosting options now and I don't want to get into a host that's having problems. ~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application. JSP runs outside of the CF security sandboxing model and allows full acces to the server. I am able to traverse the entire server using a single JSP file. JSP is enabled by default on CFMX and the CF Sandbox cannot restrict access to JSP functionality, hence on shared hosting it's a potential security risk, i.e. disable it. Re: dw popup ?
Easy one, Dave, On the Mac, go to the Apple menu. Choose the second-to-last option Shut Down Computer... Follow the prompts to the affirmative and you should be fine. RE: included cfif error
You haven't done this before. This won't work on any version of CF as far as I know. Both the cfifs AND the Cfoutputs are broken into separate files. But don' t you think this is rather unwieldy? I'd hate to be troubleshooting code where a logic block starts in 1 file and ends someplace else. Perhaps you should rethink this. The purpose of includes is to make code reusable. So... presumably you would have several files with beginning CFIFS to handle this include right? I'm not sure that's a great approach. Mark A. Re: included cfif error
Hi Dan, CF won't let you split the Cfif tags across the includes: to my understanding, each needs to be syntactically on its own. RE: Php MySQL Wiki?
Do you want something extremely powerful, or do you want something a bit simpler. Some good ones include: * MediaWiki, which is used to run the huge Wikipedia site but might be too much for your needs. * Wikka Wakka Wiki (http://wikka.jsnx.com/) is fairly simple, has user permissions and can embed FreeMind charts if you want (a neat feature). * PmWiki (http://www.pmwiki.org/) is pretty simple too. I don't recommend TikiWiki at all, it is way too complex for most people to get to grips with; I was on the development team two years ago and was one of several people promoting a major rewrite of the system to simplify it, but the main developers didn't see the need to continued as they were, the result being a huge system that is overbearing. The structure of the forms are like this: FORM NAME=1234 METHOD=POST ACTION=product.php INPUT TYPE=IMAGE SRC=images/product.jpg NAME=1234 INPUT TYPE=HIDDEN NAME=ID VALUE=1916 /FORM and the code I'm using is basically this: cftry cfhttp url=http://www.some company.co.uk/product.php method=post resolveurl=yes throwonerror=yes charset=iso-8859-1 cfhttpparam name=ID type=FormField value=1234 /cfhttp cfcatch type=Any cfset productinfo = Unavailable /cfcatch /cftry Well as you may have guesses by now it's not working, I'm wondering if I need to pass the form name as well but I can't work out how to do it - can anyone help! ~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:4:206853 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/4 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:4 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4 Donations Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54

ok, folk, I'm interested in learning how to redo this. I have a login and I'm checking to see if the cookie is there. If not, it gives a message and if there it shows the content. Re: Php MySQL Wiki?
Thanks, Damien. I just need something simple. Needs to support the standard group editing thing, plus the ability to upload images such as screen shots as well as attachments like spreadsheets, pdfs and other files. Did a bit more research yesterday. coWiki: In development, but looks really nice. Unfortunately no real support for running under IIS. TikiWiki: Very powerful, but as you say, overkill by a factor of about 100. DokuWiki: Recommended by some folks in the TikiWiki chat room. Next on the list to be evaluated. I don't foresee doing much if any modification of the wiki engine. The only additional requirement from an implementation standpoint will be the ability to easily modify the look. Good use of CSS is all I ask. One thing that would be nice, but I don't expect from a php based open source package: The wiki will reside on our Intranet which requires user Windows domain login. In my CF applications on the Intranet I just pull cgi.auth_user to get the logged in user name. Re: Using .NET to pass struct to CF webservice
Andrew, I had the same question about a month ago and I was given a ton of help, but most of which I couldn't use. I eventually with some digging and a little help from my local cfug I was able to pass a complex datatype to a ..NET web service and get a return. Here is what I did: First download and install a program called Oxygen (http://www/oxygenxml.com) use this only for the WSDL analyzer that is has. Use this to build your xml soap packet to send to the .net service. Because coldfusion builds the soap in a way that the .net sees it as a variable that is not listed and empty, you have to hand craft the soap your self to send. why use coldfusion 7?
I have a meeting with my boss on Friday to try and persuade him to go from cf5 to cf7. He wants to go for cf6 as it is a 'stable' release. This will mean alot of extra work for the developers (who would obviously go for cf7). We have looked at cf7 over the past few weeks and found it to be very stable but that is not enough to convince our management. Does anyone have a list of features that explain why 7 is better than 6 that I can use? I have looked through the macromedia site but it concentrates on the new features. Is there anything else like, what bugs in 6 are fixed in 7 and/or when will updates to cf6 cease? Any help will be appreciated. If you're going to spend the money, to upgrade that argument doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Re: why use coldfusion 7?
I recently participated in the conversion of around 100 sites/applications to CFMX 7 from CF 5. It was a fairly painless process and it was definitely worth skipping CFMX 6.1 I've worked with CF since 3, and worked with each version very close to release, including 6.0, and I would definitely recommend skipping 6.1 and going straight to 7. - Calvin On 5/17/05 11:15 AM, Jim Davis [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: -Original Message- From: Andy Allan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2005 10:41 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: why use coldfusion 7? RE: CFHTTP and forms
Wayne: I can't say that this is the problem, but your CFHTTP code is not passing any values from the Image form field. Image form elements act as pseudo Submit buttons except that, instead of just passing back a single value (the value of the Submit button), they pass back the (x,y) coordinates of the location on the image that the user clicked. Try adding the following 2 lines of code between your CFHTTP tags: cfhttpparam name=1234.x type=FormField value=0 cfhttpparam name=1234.y type=FormField value=0 These will let the product.php page know that the user clicked on the image at coordinates (0,0). Note that the name for each is 1234.x and 1234.y. The 1234 part is because that is the name assigned to the Image in the form. the .x and .y indicate the associated value's axis. -- Mosh Teitelbaum evoch, LLC Tel: (301) 942-5378 Fax: (301) 933-3651 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] WWW: http://www.evoch.com/ -Original Message- From: Wayne Putterill [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2005 9:38 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: CFHTTP and forms I'm trying to pull information from a legacy system using cfhttp, but I have run into a problem with one page which is called using forms on another page.
To reply to this original question, yes I have recently been seeing this on the 6.1 server I am on at Crystaltech. The previous discussions I believe revolved around problems on CF7, and tech support was of no help, as the problem was intermittent and they would only look into it if I could give them the exact steps to reproduce. I ended up putting some extra error trapping on my site, so at least if a customer runs into it, they get a message about what to do (close the browser and then start again). I haven't run into it myself in the last few days, so maybe someone there that has a clue go it straightened out. RE: Javascript / Listbox Form Problem
I don't think that's possible. I have built pages that have the multiple select option. What you have to do is submit the selected items from the list1 to the action page (using an Add or -- button), which inserts eacho of the selected items to a db table, then return to the display page with the selected items added to, or subtracted from, the list2. The user can use a Delete or -- button to remove selected items from list2, and it works the same way as the add button. They make their choices from list2, select the Delete button, which submits to the action page, detects that the Delete button was selected and loops over the list2 form members, deleting them from the db table, and returns to the display page showing those items gone from list2. Yes, that may seem like a lot of work, but I haven't figured out any simpler way to do this kind of user interface. I hope that makes sense. It seems to only output the value if an item has been selected, but my goal is to on one submit get the value of everything that's been added to the list box? ~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application. Re: why use coldfusion 7?
CF7 also has a nice little utility in CF admin, where you can analyze your code for errors and deprecated tags/properties. We are in the process of upgrading from CF5 to CF7 ourselves. I used this utility to analyze our code prior to moving it to our CF7 server. It worked like a charm. Dave I recently participated in the conversion of around 100 sites/applications to CFMX 7 from CF 5. It was a fairly painless process and it was definitely worth skipping CFMX 6.1 I've worked with CF since 3, and worked with each version very close to release, including 6.0, and I would definitely recommend skipping 6.1 and going straight to 7. - Calvin On 5/17/05 11:15 AM, Jim Davis [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: ~| Logware (www.logware.us): a new and convenient web-based time tracking application. RE: Javascript / Listbox Form Problem
Thanks Adam and Rebecca for the response, Adam I do have the listbox set up to allow multiple selections: select name=lbxSelectedTheme multiple size=5 But because the user is adding items from one listbox into another, at the time the form is submitted the items are not selected. Apparently this code I'm trying to work with has worked properly in the past, it sure won't work for me. // Get selected themes for (i=1; i document.frmImageAdm.lbxSelectedTheme.length; i++) { if (vThemes == ) { vThemes = document.frmImageAdm.lbxSelectedTheme.options[i].value } else { vThemes = vThemes + , + document.frmImageAdm.lbxSelectedTheme.options[i].value } } document.frmImageAdm.hdnThemes.value = vThemes Despite this above code, hdnThemes is always NULL when I try to reference it, but maybe because OnSubmit hdnThemes is passed as NULL however, this function SHOULD update it's value. Yesterday i try cfqueryparam for simple query it works, but I'm not getting how to use cfqueryparam for my code because I'm storing all the fieldnames and values in one single variable (SETLISTSTR) and directly passing that variable to query. cfset setliststr = #setliststr# , #qry_getSpcListInfo.ItemName# = '#qry_getSpcListInfo.ItmValue#' cfquery name=qry_update datasource=EWNDAT UPDATE #qry_getSpcListInfo.PrimEntity# SET #setliststr# WHERE #whereclause# /cfquery I don't have any idea how to use cfqueryparam for this code, so plz help me. Well, you can't place actual SQL commands within your CFQUERYPARAM values, since the whole point of CFQUERYPARAM is to let the database clearly differentiate between SQL commands and data. So, to use CFQUERYPARAM you will need to restructure your SQL so that you don't generate commands and data within a single string. For example, you could loop over your variables directly within your CFQUERY tag. RE: why use coldfusion 7?
I'd disagree arguing that it will cost you more in the long wrong to upgrade and test/debug twice. You'll get more mileage out of going straight to CFMX7. And just because you don't NEED the new features today, does not mean you will need or find a use for them tomorrow. RE: why use coldfusion 7?
I'm not sure about buying, but I know when it comes to downloading, you can still get it from MM. I'd assume they'll sell you old licenses as long as it's supported to cover instances where someone is adding an additional server to run code for an app written in an older version that they just don't feel like rewriting.
