RE: How to capture complete url using CF -- including any anchor tag?
To answer this question: In the DOM, window.location.hash will give you the value following the hash in the URL, so you could take that and store it in a session var with ajax. I remember the same answer. Is there a way JavaScript can access it through window.location.href? If that was possible you could ajax the anchor to your session, or put it in a hidden field or something but that's probably really too much to bother with. ~Brad -Original Message- From: Bryan Stevenson [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 1:56 PM To: CF-Talk Subject: Re: How to capture complete url using CF -- including any anchor tag? RE: Apache config
Most people who just get a stock Dell box, they will have XP home on it. How are they supposed to learn web development on it if MS doesn't provide a web server to go with it? It's probably true that most web developers use XP Pro, and personally, if I get a PC with XP home, I reinstall it right away with XP Pro, but there are people out there, who are using XP Home. The reason I brought this up, is I have a friend who I'm trying to get started with ColdFusion. They have XP Home, so we are forced to use Apache. I think it's ridiculous for MS to cripple the OS like that. Anyway, are there any good beginner sites that my friend can start going thru the tutorials on? Or should I just have them get a copy of CFWACK? It's not sent to the server, so you can't capture it. If you want to send that to the server, you will have to use JavaScript to capture it, then put it somewhere the server can see it, on a subsequent page request. Re: Integrating SQL Reporting Services with ColdFusion
Just wondering if you made any headway. I've been trying to find ANYTHING on this topic and have gotten almost nowhere. Using the webservice, at the moment I can view a list of reports and view the reports using the URL accessiblity method but when I try to use the webservice to actually get the reports...splat! At the moment I'm trying the render method and getting nowhere. Any pointers/references would be very welcome! I'm actually stunned that I can't find any concrete examples of using webservices to display reports using CF MX (MX or MX7) given that Reporting Services has been around for a while now--almost feel like it is a bit of a conspiracy:) Alice ~| Upgrade to Adobe ColdFusion MX7 Experience Flex 2 & MX7 integration & create powerful cross-platform RIAs http:http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;56760587;14748456;a?http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=LVNU Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:267677 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4

How to capture complete url using CF -- including any anchor tag?
Hi, I know how to capture the basic URL info, using CGI vars such as server_name, query_string, etc. However, I can't figure out how to capture an anchor tag that may be on an URL. For example: http://www.mydomain.com/foo/bar.cfm?var=Blah#thisPageSection How do I grab "#thisPageSection" using CF? My big picture goal is this: User is given a link to a page which may or may not have variables & an anchor reference. User clicks link, and page looks to authenticate. If not logged in, current page info (including all parameters, etc) is stored in a session var, user is kicked to the login page. After successfully logging in, user is redirected back to original page, based on session var. I have everything working correctly, except that I can't figure out how to grab the anchor info on the original URL. Suggestions? Advance chart layout
I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I would like to confirm it. Is it possible with the cfchart tag of CFMX 7.02 to create a chart with two data series staked and a third series clustered? I have three pieces of data, number of units collected to date, number of units scheduled to be collected by the end of the month and the goal for the number of units to collect in the month. I would like to stack the first two and compare it to the third, can this be done? -- Ian Skinner Web Programmer BloodSource www.BloodSource.org Sacramento, CA - | 1 | | - Binary Soduko | | | - "C code. Re: Quick CFEclipse question
Try NoteTab Light. It's got an easy way to do this sort of replace without regex (which it also offers). ^T = tab, ^P = crlf... there are others, but those are the two that I usually use. You also have the option of searching and replacing in every document you have opened. It's really cool, and it's really free. :o) It may sound a bit hokey to have a separate editor just for this sort of search and replace, but I use it all the time and it works great. I was poking around to find multi-line search stuff in Eclipse, and found this enhancement request: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=154119 It looks like they're discussing making this feature in Eclipse 3.3. One of the queries is running on a different database, but two are running on the same database and give different results; one seems case-sensitive and the other does not. I think, but did not test, that if you use the LIKE directive, it will be case-insensitive. SELECT * FROM [table] WHERE [column] LIKE However, be aware that the LIKE might create other issues like using the "_" as a wild card match, and % and what not. RE: confirming string length, case, and alphanumeric
Give this a shot Richard. Each time it loops to grab the next character, it grabs it from the next usable character set in the list so it uses them all. Just so it's not the same sequence of character sets over and over, the second loop rebuilds the string by pulling out random characters one at a time and appending them into a new string. All my tests have been successful so far. Let me know how yours turn out. If everything works out for you as well, I'll submit it. There is only one thing that is not so random about the string... if you use a length that is evenly divisible by the number of character sets that you use, then there will be an even number of each character set in the resulting string. Say you used randstr(9, 'alphanumericupper') (3 character sets alpha, numeric, and upper)... the result would have 3 lowercase letters, 3 uppercase letters and 3 numbers. I don't think that is a deal breaker but just thought I'd point it out. /** * Returns a randomly generated string using the specified character sets and length(s) * * @param strLen Either a number of a list of numbers representing the range in size of the returned string. RE: Quick CFEclipse question
Hi Mark Yeah, the ability to search for a block of text would be really nice. Actually, I'm not too thrilled at all with the default Eclipse multi-file replace either... Everything about it (esp when working with files that are in source control; I use VSSPlugin) is weirdly unsettling. I know you did ask for this, but what I would really love in CF Eclipse is something like the Java "Open Type" feature. The idea is that you often know the name of the file you want to open but navigating to it takes a couple of seconds; the Open Type dialog is great because it shows recently searched for files (java classes, actually) and with a couple of keystrokes you can get to that file you had open ten minutes ago. Right when the dialog open is shows the most recent files (again, classes) that you opened via the Open Type dialog. It is really handy when working with a project with a big directory structure. Anyway, sorry for the out-of-scope feature request, but I couldn't help myself. To quote some guy on one of the lists I frequent: "What in the ham sandwich are you talkin' about?" I use CFEclipse and when I get ctrl-f I get a multiple line "find/replace with" dialog with selections for scope, direction, and a slew of other options. Re: Quick CFEclipse question
Actually, scope is not the problem. I need to be able to search/replace text that includes line feeds, tabs, and whatever strange ascii crap I throw at it. Eclipse can do this, but only with regex. RE: Quick CFEclipse question
I just got done installing Homesite on my new computer along side of CFEclipse and Dreamweaver because I missed Homesites searching and replacing so much. Homesite can search for carriage returns and replace them with commas... I love that! I can quickly take comma delimited data and replace the comma with a carriage return... I can search for tab and replace it with a comma etc... Homesite's searching and replacing just rocks! In the past I have created my forms. Then submit to an empty action page. I grab from the debugging all of the form vars that were submitted: FIELDNAMES=TYPE,CATALOGID,ELEMENTID,SKU,ELEMENTDESCRIPTION,PAGE,ELEMENTTYPE,TYPEOFSHOT,SIMPLEORADVANCED,PROPS,OUTLINETYPE,JID,NOTES,CAREYNOTES Now I use home site to find the comma and replace with this: , represents a carriage return): " default=""> Now my results are this: TYPE" default=""> http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;56760587;14748456;a?http://www.adobe.com/products/coldfusion/flex2/?sdid=LVNU Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:267618 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4

Re: Quick CFEclipse question
I think this can be solved if the "Scope" of the searches were to include a new scope called "Selection." This would enable a user to highlight a block of code and then perform a search and replace on a pattern using the existing single line search, but in a very concentrated area so that you would not need to implement multi-line searches. If you perform global search and replace, Regex is safer especially when dealing with multi-developer projects. RE: SQL order by
Ok.. So basically your statement is re-defining "thefield" as an integer if isNumeric returns 1. Else 0 returning thefield as it's original data type. ORDER BY CASE WHEN IsNumeric(thefield)=1 THEN CAST(thefield AS INT) ELSE 0 END,thefield Very cool! Is there a MS SQL function similar? -Original Message- From: Andy Matthews [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 9:22 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: RE: SQL order by SELECT yourcolumn, 0+REPLACE(SUBSTRING_INDEX(yourcolumn,' ',1),',','') AS sort FROM yourtable ORDER BY sort -Original Message- From: Chad Gray [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 8:13 AM To: CF-Talk Subject: SQL order by When you use ORDER BY in SQL on a text field it sorts the data like this: 1 11 12 13 2 21 22 Where I want 1 2 11 12 13 21 22 I cannot switch it to an integer field because there will be some text also. Any way to accomplish this? Thanks!
