Re: cfgrid bind method with null values

You say you see no errors in the Ajax debug window. What about
Firebug? What XHR request do you see?

On 8/24/07, Jaysheel Bhavsar [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

the variable names used in cfgrid tag. Now I don't get any error messages,

mysql directly with the values passed from the form, and I get 388 rows
returned. I ran the page with query attribute in cfgrid instead of bind
attribute and I get the right result (except that my header is all screwed
up, but I will deal with it later.). But I don't get any result back with
bind attribute, and no errors in the logs or in the AJAX debug window. I
don't even see the query execution in regular cfdebug output either (but i
guess thats because of the way bind calls my query).

Re: cfdiv query output

2007-08-25 Thread Raymond Camden
Sure, bind the cfdiv to another page that loads data based on the
value of the drop down. What I mean is - if the drop down was named
categories, you could use a bind of

getdata.cfm?category={category}

On 8/24/07, David Mineer [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
Can I gind a cfdiv to a query so that the div area will only show if
there are query results. I want to bind it to a select box for

So if I choose a value from the select dropdown, then the div shows my
nicely formatted cfoutput block with query results inside.

I could pull in a different page with the cfselect value in the url,
then the page would call the query with the URL value as the filter,
but I would rather not have to create a seperate page.

 Possible?

The time, the search string. Potentially the IP address. in

Well, I just meant a duplicate term meaning after a year you'd have some insane

CF7 to CF8 upgrade or interoperability issues?

2007-08-25 Thread Pete Ruckelshaus
I'm thinking of upgrading one of my sites to CF8, but I still have several
that are on CF7. I have a single development environment and don't want to
scr_w myself, but I want to upgrade my dev environment to CF8 so I can start
migrating this one site over. Apart from staying away from new CF8
functionality on sites that are still running CF7, are there any issues with
running CF7 sites on the CF8 app server?

I've read about the cached queries with cfqueryparam, but that's not an
issue for me.

RE: cfcache producing connection failure.

2007-08-25 Thread Dave Watts
Now I cannot use cfcache... it will produce
 error connection failure

CFCACHE relies on CFHTTP. There are all sorts of reasons why HTTP requests from
the server to itself might not work. My guess is that the server can't resolve
the hostname used to make the requests. You can test this by pinging the
hostname in question from the server console. If you can't access the server
console, you can use CFEXECUTE to test this.

 I don't understand this word(from adobe)
Ensure that the URL is not protected by security

If going to the URL requires a browser login, it's protected by web server
security.

Hi Robert,

For your charts you can compile them as a temporary GIF/JPG, then link the

Thanks

Hello Guys,

A quick update on this, it would appear that the root cause of this issue is
that my site is running over SSL and this causes complications with the http
requests that the JVM makes when reading the documents external sources for
images/charts and css. I've managed to solve this for my CSS, but charts
still show up as a dead image, I have no idea how to get them working.

Any ideas? A cold virtual beer for the first man to solve it.

RE: Railo 2 Released

2007-08-25 Thread Rick Faircloth
If they cut the price by about 50%, I might be interested.
I just can't see paying at least for Railo Pro, which only
compares to CFML 6.1, for what I would pay for the full pro
version of CF 8 from Adobe... the original.

Say, I'd be paying at least as much, if not more considering the
number of websites I host, for a CFML engine two versions out of date,
and forfeiting may of the features of CF 8 from Adobe.

I don't understand why anyone would go this route. Again, if the
price were considerably less that CF 8 from Adobe, then maybe I could
see going this way...

Railo released their 2.0 edition today. I've been testing stuff against
the release candidates for a few months now and love it...

I though I recalled seeing (on the old site) something about a limit when
having to buy extra site licenses for the pro version
like up to 10 sites, then it becomes unlimited.

But I could be wrong??

RE: Railo 2 Released

2007-08-25 Thread Rick Faircloth
From the info on the site, it seems that buying the
Enterprise version is the only way to get unlimited sites.

But, still, buying 10 site licenses comes to $1,000. For
$300 more I can have the full meal deal.

I would consider going with Railo if I could get unlimited
sites for $500... the savings might be worth the sacrifice
at that price point.

RE: One-person shop looking for application developers

2007-08-25 Thread Mahesh Poojari
Hi Cameron,

Are you still looking out for a Coldfusion Developer to develop the projects ?

Regards,
Mahesh Poojary Subject: One-person shop looking for application developers
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: cf-jobs-talk@houseoffusion.com Date: Fri, 4 May
2007 14:10:55 -0400 Hi, all. I'm a one-person shop running a CF7-based
site. About 60% of my job is management, while the other 40% is programming.
That's not enough programming time to get everything done. All of the heavy
apps, such as our CMS and our e-commerce modules are commercial apps, supported
by established companies. All is well on that front. Where I need help is
building the smaller, custom apps that aren't a part of the CMS. These apps are
usually data collection apps with back-end management tools. I'm looking
for some developers that can do one-time projects: take the specs, build the
app, document it, then turn it over to me. While there would definitely be a
full spec document and statement of work, most of apps aren't large enough to
warrant a full RFP, so it doesn't look like I'd call upon full consulting
firms. Or, maybe I would, I'm not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions on
where to look for this kind of help? Or, if you are someone who works this way,
can you contact me? Thanks for the info. Cameron Johnson Web Director
