Re: How to Change the User Name field in CF Administrator's Info Page
Did you reboot after changing the computer name? If so, try changing the CF service to run under another account, create a temp local user or something. Reboot, and change the service back to local system, reboot and see what happens. Assuming "cloned" means the original server was a VM that was cloned, was the server sysprep'd after being cloned, or was it cloned from a template (image) that was in a sysprep state? If not and the servers are on a domain, I can see this still occurring even after trying the above. If you are on a domain and not sysprep'ing the clones, this will eventually be the least of your problems, as all sorts of weirdness will start to occur with those servers. I have checked serveral servers that run under system SYSTEM account and all of them say USER: SYSTEM in the cfadmin, not the computer name. so not sure how your getting that. Is the server connected to a domain maybe ? Re: cfm files bypass permissions -- htm files get 401 unauthorized
I know this thread is old, but I just ran into a similar situation. I upgraded from cf9 to cf10 on a windows 2008 R2 server. We use windows authentication on the site, but have some subfolders set to anonymous authentication. The problem lies in the fact it still tries to use the windows authentication, but when accessing .cfm files. When accessing the folder without specifying the file (ie. http://sitename/foldername) it displays the contents of index.cfm without a problem, but tack on the index.cfm (ie. http://sitename/foldername/index.cfm) and it askes for a login to access it. Any ideas on this? ~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:356131 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/unsubscribe.cfm

Re: How to Address Prompts for Java Updates
Just to add to Pete's comments: the prompts you are seeing are probably not for the Java JVM that ColdFusion is using; most likely it is the Java client JVM that is used by apps and web pages that have Java plug-ins. To upgrade the JVM for ColdFusion, you'll need to download and install the latest Java SE JDK from Oracle - this JVM has additional server components that ColdFusion needs. Once that is installed, as Pete said, you'll need to update the JVM path to point to the new Java SE JDK. Again, you'll need to install all the hotfixes first as Pete stated. -Carl V.
