dev mappings in a remote dev environment
we are stuck with a remote dev environmet - studio on our desktops, cf ap server on a solaris server downstairs in the server room. we have yet to get the dev mapping set to the correct paths in order to use debug and browse. the studio path of course is easy, the browser path is known, the server does have the directory mapped within it and yet we haven't gotten the right combo set up to enable these features. anybody know the magic words to achieve browse and debug capabilities in this type of dev environment? thanks -- Dee Janssen Web Developer LESCO/LOGSA 256-955-9579 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Archives: http://www.eGroups.com/list/cf-talk To Unsubscribe visit http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists&body=lists/cf_talk or send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in the body.

CF & PVCS
we are trying to implement configuration mgt here using pvcs as we have that in house for the powerbuilder project. with running cf 4.01 studio on nt 4 sp 6, has anyone any insights into making them work well together? does it work better in 4.5.1? does it not work at all? and i am not sure what version pvcs we have, either the latest or the next to latest i believe. thanks -- Dee Janssen Web Developer LESCO/LOGSA 256-955-9579 [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- Archives: http://www.eGroups.com/list/cf-talk To Unsubscribe visit http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists&body=lists/cf_talk or send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in the body.
RE: CF graphlets
michael, we're using the bar graph applet with no problem, but we did find that while they installed with cf server v3.0, they didn't install with 4.0 as far as we could tell and had to hunt them down on an nt machine that still had them and then copy them to the appropriate dir on our solaris machines and rename them as stated in the one article on allaire's site. -Original Message- From: Michael Dinowitz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, July 14, 2000 2:43 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: CF graphlets Anyone have any experience and/or better docs for the CF Java graphlets? URGENT - compatability issue
i just found out that our unix sys admin team is moving our development server to cf v4.5.1 this weekend. our production server will remain at cf v4.01 for another month. we haven't even had the time to test our current aps for compatibility with v4.5.1 and we are still using cf studio v4.01. we can upgrade our studio versions to 4.5.1 but i'm wondering about compatibility issues when moving things finished under the new version to production that's still using the old version - anybody have any experience with this? thanks -- Dee Janssen Web Developer LESCO/LOGSA 256-955-9579 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/cf-talk@houseoffusion.com/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists or send a message with 'unsubscribe' in the body to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

RE: Oracle 8i and WebDB
WebDB is an Oracle product. We are just starting to evaluate it here - so far it seems to be good for oracle table creation and rapid prototyping but we already know we won't be switching from coldfusion as my boss thought last month. it will probably have certain uses for us, but oracle also has a m$$ type licensing scheme stuck to it regarding having a license for each end user of an ap built with it. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, April 11, 2000 3:17 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Oracle 8i and WebDB Does anyone know what WebDB is all about? RE: CF Webstore
i have put up 4 e-commerce sites with cfwebstore, and have one in process: one uses it only for the backend, have made alot of addons/mods to certain areas, v3.12 one is v3.02, 2 are v4, one will be v4.5 other than needing a visio chart for program flow, i've found it reasonable to modify - and with v4.5 using cflock extensively, as long as you use a solid db - NOT access - you should do ok - mary jo could probably tell you which customers have the biggest trafficked sites - email me offline if you would like the url's ~~ Your ad could be here. We have a client who switched hosting of their site to a company with virtual servers on Solaris (they just let us know now and their site has all ready been down for a day). This new hosting company they picked doesn't seem to know anything about CF other than CF can be installed as an add-on to their virtual servers. Basically, I went through the process of installing CF via this company's website (seemed fairly automated) and it seemed to go ok. When I went to set up the datasource in the administrator, I didn't see an Access driver. Our database is access so I'm not sure what to do since I haven't dealt with Solaris before. HELP!
