Export hidden columns to excel

2008-04-11 Thread Rahul Krishna
I'm creating a report for my company where the user has the option to expand or
collapse the column headers and its data on their screen.

The users want to export the report to an excel spreadsheet and they want the
spreadsheet's columns to mirror what is displayed on his/her screen.

So if the user has certain columns collapsed or expanded on their screen they
want those columns hidden or displayed on the spreadsheet as well.

I was wondering how difficult it would be to create a function in Coldfusion MX
7 which will allow the users to unhide those collapsed columns in the excel
spreadsheet without having to go back to the screen and do another export

Re: RDS stopped working

2000-10-04 Thread Rahul Joshi

Seems u r using CF studio. Correct ... coz u can use RDS through CF studio
as well as through normal windows explorer. Once u install CF Studio it adds
1 option in explorer i.e. Allaire FTP & RDS. Now on CF server PC check RDS
service is started on not ? If not then pls start the service. Now open
explorer click on Allaire FTP, right click on this option. It will provide u
2 options add rds server & add ftp server, so select add RDS server. Now
give host description as anything u want, in host name field give IP address
of RDS server PC i.e.. CF Server PC, in user name field give the user name
administrator & give password which u have given for CF Studio in CF Server
administrator page.

With this settings it should work.

Hi.
We experience two problems on a NT server that are connected to the CF
server service.
- First the machine won´t shutdown properly if we don´t stop the service
first
- The other problem is that we can´t start for example a installation
program without
first stopping the service.

We run NT 4.0 (lots of RAM), CF 4.5 PRO.

Anyone has an idea?

Re: HELP: CF Server not working

2000-06-30 Thread Rahul

If you are using database server in backend pls check connectivity with
database server. Also check the DSN configured in CF admin , means verify
the DSN. Check the log of server in CF admin where you will come to know
which file is not responding for CF server request. Is it happening to all
files in your site to a specific page ??

Re: Urgent! CF Server 4.5 Response is Very Slow

2000-06-17 Thread Rahul
lue (add if not already there):

DWORD LogFileBatchSize set to 0x0004

This specifies the batch size for writing log files. The server caches the
last LogFileBatchSize bytes of data in memory buffers before it dumps the
current buffer and moves onto the next buffer. Such batch processing reduces
the amount of disk traffic created by log files. However, if a site is
interested in getting the current-up-to-date log records flushed to disk,
the batch size can be reduced. The value range for this setting is 0 -
0x, and the default is 64*1024 (64KB) or 0x0001. Consider
increasing this value to 256*1024 (256KB) or 0x0004.

In IIS Manager:

Set IIS Performance set to handle over 100,000 hits per day
Removed all IIS mappings except .CFM
Set Logging - "Next Log Time Period" = "When file size reaches 100 MB"
Remove all unnecessary ISAPI filters

We also recommend that users place their webserver root directory and all
swap space on a separate physical disk from the core OS and other system
files if at all possible. If not, place on separate partitions on the same
disk. This will decrease system file-swapping problems on the main drive,
helping performance and stability.

ColdFusion ClusterCATS Settings

The registry settings which control CFAS load reporting are listed below. It
is recommended to set LoadRate to 1, which causes ColdFusion to report load
to BrightTiger ClusterCATS every second, reducing the lag time between when
load is experienced and when load is reported. In
\\HKLM\Software\Allaire\ColdFusion\CurrentVersion\Server:

LoadTraceFile - 0 or 1
LoadSamples - 5 is default
LoadRate - 2 is default
LoadConstant - 50 is default

3. Move pagefile from system partition to boot partition.

Try out the above settings, it will definately improve cf4.5 performance.

Re: SQL Server logins

2000-06-17 Thread Rahul

Yes u r correct, if u are trying to restore a database from one server to
other server & even if u have same logins this problem do occur. So pls use
SQL query to solve this problem. run the following query on that affected
database :

"EXEC sp_change_users_login 'Update_One', 'User_Name', 'User_Name' " ...
ok ...

Do try this, surely this will solve your problem

Re: What goes on the faster machine?

2000-04-09 Thread Rahul Joshi

For cf server u will require a PIII PC with good IO system, say Raid 5 with
Ultra II SCSI controller. Coz CF requiresplenty of RAM & Pentium range
procesor to work well. SQL will also require plenty of RAM, fantastic
processor & fantastic IO system. This will improve performance of your web
application provided that u have good network bandwidth.
Also it depends what kind of web application u have. If u have static
application which will just retreive record from SQL & show to client then u
will not require a powerfull processor for both CF as well as SQL, but if u
have dynamic site then u should have powerfull PCs. U can get better
information for hardware config on IBM or Compaq site.

network speed .. Spped of the server on which CF server as well as your mail
server is running .. but it works very well .. I am using it for internal
network .. I have received 7000 mails in an hour through my application

Re: Virtual Memory Errors

2000-03-29 Thread Rahul Joshi

Whats the error ? Are u using Windows NT 4.0 ? If yes then check the size of
virtual memory .. Initial size should be RAM + 12 MB & end size should be 50
to 60 MB higher side than Initial size. If pagefile.sys is on system
partition then move it to other partition than System. If this works then
fine. If not then check up the event viewer for any Service Control manager
wrror. Also check RAM of your server. If u can afford Uninstall &
reinstalltion of CF server then pls do it. But be sure that u r giving the
location of installation other than original one.
Check whether .DLL of any tag is creating problem.
