You can export an outlook folder into an Access database. I've done it with
CF-talk.

I was wondering if there is anybody out there that has been putting these
CF-Talk emails into a database, and would be willing to share it? I am
trying to make a searchable database of these topics for my personal use and
reference. I have about 30,000 emails in my Outlook right now, and having a
bugger of a time trying to transfer them into a access database. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

CF/Database Problem!

2001-02-20 Thread Raley, Scott M (MIL)

All of a sudden my access database has started opening up in exclusive mode,
although when I look at the options on it, its set by default to open in
shared mode. I get an error in CF that it can not open 'unknown'. When I
close the database some of my queries give me this error:

Error Diagnostic Information
ODBC Error Code = S1000 (General error)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Operation must use an updateable
query.
The error occurred while processing an element with a general identifier of
(CFQUERY), occupying document position (7:1) to (7:48).

Any suggestions?

RE: Server Running Low on Virtual Memory

2001-02-13 Thread Raley, Scott M (MIL)

I've had a problem with CF 4.5.1 and Win2K AS ... there is a file called
svchost.exe that shows up in taskmanager. I don't recall what it is linked
to but every once in a while it goes crazy and eats up all the virtual
memory and I have to reboot the server. I've added SP1 and that hasn't
solved the problem either. I've been shutting down service by service to
see if I can figure out what is causing it to trigger but nothing yet.

Subject: Server Running Low on Virtual Memory

Hi All,

For the past couple of months we have been getting a low virtual memory
error on our CF Server about every 10 days. The CF server software ran fine
until we moved it to Win2K and added .asp pages to the server as part of our
intranet (please don't ask why, but part of our intranet is written using CF
technology and the other part in written using ASP technology, both running
session variables).

Here is the server's configuration:

Win2K (no service pack)
CF 4.5.1 SP1
Max 728 MB Paging File
PIII 800 with 256 MB Ram
Plenty of harddrive space
No Active Directory Service on Win2K

In addition to this, we access an Oracle database using native drivers for
the CF pages and ADO for the ASP pages. There is also an additional website
running on the server using an Access 97 database as the backend (the
shopping cart application we are using is AbleCommerce).

We haven't been able to pinpoint the source of the memory leak. We don't
know if it has to do with AbleCommerce and Access 97, the .asp or .cfm
connections to the Oracle database, or simply some other memory leak problem
between Win2K and CF.

If anyone has any experience or practical suggestions on how to fix the low
memory error, your knowledge would be greatly appreciated. As it stands
right now, we end up having to reboot our Web Server every Monday morning to
avoid the low memory error which eventually shuts down the server if it is
not caught in time.

Thanks,

Debbie McDaniel

CF Cluster Help

2001-02-13 Thread Raley, Scott M (MIL)

I'm not familiar with setting up CF in a cluster environment and welcome any
help. Currently have 2 NT servers setup in an NT cluster and need to put CF
and IIS on top of this. What is the best way to handle this? I've heard of
ClusterCats but not familiar with what it does or how it interacts with the
NT cluster service.

Is there a good tutorial on putting a CF cluster together?

TIA

mySQL & CF & BLOB

2000-06-20 Thread Raley, Scott M (MIL)

Anyone using CF and mySQL and accessing BLOB data? I converted an Access2K
db to Mysql and all memo fields were converted to BLOB datatypes. Now when I
pull the information and display it I get ASCII garbage and not the text.
Someone in mySQL support told me to change it to a longvarchar datatype but
that would require reconverting the database a second time which I would
like to avoid.

Anyone run into this problem? Is there any way around it ?

TIA

RE: Apache + Win2000 + Cold Fusion Server = 99% System Resources

Have you looked to see what is taking up the resources? Which process is it?
I've had this happen and it was a process called svchost.exe which seems to
be linked to COM.
I'm running the latest win2k, apached and CF Server and it still happens.
