CFTRANSACTION problem
Hi, Suddenly I am getting following error in cfm page. Data source Ora8 verification failed. Some people do so because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary. Other people I know have put these hours for years. I don't know if they are working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long. Others put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace. Whatever the reason for putting in overtime, working long hours over the long term is harmful to the person and to the organization. There are things managers can do to change this for everyone's benefit. Being in the office long hours, over long periods of time, makes way for potential errors. My colleagues who are in the office long hours frequently make mistakes caused by fatigue. Correcting these mistakes requires their time as well as the time and energy of others. I have seen people work Tuesday through Friday to correct mistakes made after 5 PM on Monday. Another problem is that people who are in the office long hours are not pleasant company. They often complain about other people (who aren't working as hard); they are irritable, or cranky, or even angry. Other people avoid them. Such behavior poses problems, where work goes much better when people work together instead of avoiding one another. As Managers, there are things we can do to help people leave the office. First and foremost is to set the example and go home ourselves. I work with a manager who chides people for working long hours. His words quickly lose their meaning when he sends these chiding groups e-mails with a time-stamp of 2 AM, Sunday. Second is to encourage people to put some balance in their lives. For instance, here is a guideline I find helpful: 1) Wake up, eat a good breakfast, and go to work. 2) Work hard and smart for eight or nine hours. 3) Go home. 4) Read the comics, watch a funny movie, dig in the dirt, play withyour kids, etc. 5) Eat well and sleep well. This is called recreating. Doing steps 1, 3, 4, and 5 enable step 2. Working regular hours and recreating daily are simple concepts. They are hard for some of us because that requires personal change. They are possible since we all have the power to choose to do them. In considering the issue of overtime, I am reminded of my oldest son. When he was a toddler, if people were visiting the apartment, he would not fall asleepno matter how long the visit, and no matter what time of day it was. He would fight off sleep until the visitors left. It was as if he was afraid that he would miss something. Once our visitors' left, he would go to sleep. By this time, however, he was over tired and would scream through half the night with nightmares. He, my wife, and I, all paid the price for his fear of missing out. Perhaps some people put in such long hours because they don't want to miss anything when they leave the office. The trouble with this is that events will never stop happening. That is life!! Things happen 24 hours a day. Allowing for little rest is not ultimately practical. So, take a nap. Things will happen while you're asleep, but you will have the energy to catch up when you wake. Regarding CFMX6.1 - Macromedia Installation support/Fixes require d
Hi I am facing two major problems with ColdFusionMX6.1 version. The first one is when the sql query returns no record. In this case, we get no data to read error message. The second one happens with java classes. In CFMX4.5, the java class by default reads the properties file from c:\winnt\system32 but in CFMX6.0/6.1 it is looking at C:\CFusionMX\runtime\bin. This issue throws a warning message in CFMX6.0 and in CFMX6.1 it is an error message. However when I install CFMX6.1 directly, the CFMX server throws an error message. The only way to avoid or work around this bug at this stage is to install CFMX6.0 and update the same with CFMX updater 3 patch and then upgrade it to CFMX6.1. Please consider this as an urgent issue to be resolved at the earliest. Any feedback in this regard will help our organization in our future planning and release of our product. cf4.5.1 and CFMX
Hi, Here I have installed two versions of coldfusion (CF4.5.1 and CFMX) But it 4.5.1 is working fine with http://localhost/login.cfm (going thru IIS here) using path : c:\inetpub\wwwroot\ and even CFMX (6.0) version is also working fine. http://localhost:8500/login.cfm using path : c:\CfusionMX\wwwroot\ so here I would like to avoid to use 8500 when I use cfmx version. Becos I want to go thru IIS only here. So is there any command we have where we can internally switch from cf4.5.1 to CFMX version when I want to use cfmx version url. (note : I want to run both versions in my machines since some times I need to work on cf4.5 and some times I need to work on CFMX version.) Debugging problem
When i do debug the code in my localhost (CF4.5.1), its giving me following error in pop up box. Is there any suggestions. An error occured on the RDS Server (Local Hostname:localhost): The ColFusion Remote Development Server failed to connect to debugger sessio. This may have occured for one of the following reasons: An invalid start url was used to start the session (404 error). Check the validity of the URL. RDS timed out waiting for a debugger connection to a busy CFAS Server. Check the timeout value and increase it if necessary. The ColdFusion Application Server is no tcurrently running. Verify that the server is running and restart it if necessary. CFContent tag in CFMX..
Hi, Here I am using following tag in CFMX. cfcontent type=application/x-msexcel file=#path# deletefile=Yes But it showing error message in popup window like Internet Explorer cannot download. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internetsite. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Pleas e try again later. And In CF4.5.1 that same code is working fine and opening excel document also.. Am I doing anything wrong here in cfmx.. or do we need to change then syntax of cfcontent tag in cfmx version. Really appreciate for suggestions also.. Hi, Here I am using following tag in CFMX. cfcontent type=application/x-msexcel file=#path# deletefile=Yes But it showing error message in popup window like Internet Explorer cannot download. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internetsite. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Pleas e try again later. variable info to our cfm page. but it is not
displaying whole information when we displaying in cfm
page. so before that one i thougt to call convert.asp

how to read xml data
Hi i am facing with big problem. Actually One server(java) is posting data to our coldfusion server by calling our coldufusion page (test.cfm). they are posting variable info as a xmlpacket = "---xmldata---" but when we are receiving from coldfusion we are displaying "form.xmlpacket" information, then it showing half of the xml only when that xmldata contains "". Can i read full xml data (even if they give "" data) by using any method or custom tag. and i would appreceiate if your valuable suggestions also. Pls if any one does not understand pls let me know. how to delete mailserver log file(if exceeds the limitation size)
Hi, can any body faced the problem like mail log is exceeding and giving interpretation error(unknown exception condition error) our mail log size is some 300MB is there. I am trying to delete the whole information. but it is deleting and again populating information(may be database or some where, exactly i am not sure) Once maillog exceeds some limmitation size then it is giving above error when i open maillog thru coldfusion administration. (Like address field = "abrothers")
they are converting into "amp;" for further
processing to xmlparsers (in our system)

server(and we have one webserver (IIS) is also there
in between their server and our coldfusion application
server.
When they are sending data to us(contains "amp;"), i
could n't able to see whole data in that

Hi all, I have one cfm page which allows to me to select one excel file and after that when i submit the page then wat ever i selected data from xls file data has to be insert into specified table.. And we are using window NT and CF4.5.1. and MS sql server 7.0. Is there any custom tag avaialble in allaire.. or any indirect way we have to approach??? Hi all, I have one cfm page which allows to me to select one excel file and after that when i submit the page then wat ever i selected data from xls file data has to be insert into specified table.. And we are using window NT and CF4.5.1. and MS sql server 7.0. Is there any custom tag avaialble in allaire.. or any indirect way we have to approach??? I would appreciate if u give yr valuable suggestions. Actually this one already posted in to cf-talk.. but my problem was not solved.. Pls let me know any one faced this problem earlier.. I need to provide cfm page to them to upload the excel sheet(This one i know) and when they submit the query after uploading the file, then it send to our sqlserver 7.0 database.. white spaces in xml packet view source
Hi Actually our programme takes xml packet from other system and process then if any error then generate the errorxml packet or if not then it generates successxml packet. So when i got successxml packet. That i pasted here which i am seeing in my browser.. But problem is when i see view source then it showing 3 empty rows in note pad.. I mean 4 th row onwards showing (in 4 th row also 2nd column onwards) the source.. But i need to remove those white spaces..
