Depending on how much effort you are willing to put in I can seriously
recommend Linode.com. for $19.95 you get a UML (User Mode Linux)
account (i.e. root access to your VPS) and basically can do whatever
you like with it. Install Apache, BlueDragon and MySQL and you are
off! Downside is you have to do everything yourself, but it is a lot
of fun to learn!!

Not if you run the free version of Bluedragon. The main features you
don't get with the free version is the ability to deploy servlets/jsps
and JDBC support for databases other than mysql and postgresql.

Other than that, I think the free bluedragon has all the CFML

I wondered how New Atlanta benefits from providing a fully functional
free version of BlueDragon server, and it WILL suffice for a lot of
peoples needs, and I realized that the expansion of the CFML community,
whether people pay for it or not, benefits all of us.. including those
who profit from the sale of CFML engines and CFML-based products.

I appreciate that I can now build something in CFML for a client who
does not have the budget to purchase a copy of Macromedia Coldfusion
MX.. before, I would've had to build those apps in PHP, and I despise
working in PHP.

Just a small word of warning to stay away from DataPacket.net.I was
with them years ago but left to go with a UNIX host.I heard from a
friend a while later that they had changed their pipe providers again,
and a while later heard (2002) the same story again. This second
friend's site was never up, which made it difficult to use as a
marketing site for their own business. They promised the earth in
terms of facilities (3gig space for $10?), but you'll never get your
money's worth due to serious reliability problems.

If you are looking for something a little closer to home, check out these guys:
http://www.bytemark-hosting.co.uk/index.html

They offer a similar set up to Linode, but are based in the UK. I also
have an account with them though currently it's only hosting the
secondary DNS. Their Debian footprint is slightly larger than Linodes,
but it comes pre-installed with Tomcat, JDK, Python, etc... And the
cost is 15 quid a month, so it's pretty similar.

Hey Guys,

I've got a request into Adolf this morning for some other web space to setup. I'll
make sure that when I talk to him that he knows you need space as well. I'm also
copying him on this message so that he knows that the community at large is interested
in his services.

In the future, anytime you need help setting up an account at tio.com, feel free to
give me a call and/or shoot me an email. I've been dealing with Adolf for several
years and although he may not always get back to you right away, he will get back to
you. The more people who are interested, the more likely I'll just setup a co-located
server at his facilities and deal with everyone directly.
