All ya have to do is take off the stock regulator and jump the wires in the
plug. Number 1 goes to number 3, and number 2 goes to number 4. You also
have to change the plug that goes into the altenator. Pretty basic stuff.

 Hi Kurt.
I have never used the conversion internal reg harness . BUT ASSUME it's a
viable solution .

As for the HEI conversion. The difference in your Eng. harness and firwall
bulkhead is.
bulk head the wired is a 20ga. and the eng. harness is a 20 ga wire with a
length or resitance wire to drop the Voltage at the
distributor to 7 to 8 volts. The HEI likes a FULL 13.8 volt from the main
block. Most guys seem to run a 12ga or 14ga wire from the HEI to the main

call MH and get the flea clips and wire it right in to the old OR/PPL 20 ga

[Chevelle-List] Wiring stuff

2003-02-19 Thread K. Kaya
Two quick questions...

Anyone ever use one of these $15 Alternator conversion harness kits (when
converting to an internal voltage regulator in the alternator) that many of
the catalogs offer? Is there a simpler way to go with this procedure?

I'm switching over to an HEI distributor and need the know the differences
between the wiring harnesses that some of the Chevelle catalogs offer that
are adapted to use an HEI distributor. What is different about them that I
would need a new engine harness?

I am looking for the trim pieces that fit on the bottom inside of the
pillars on a 67 Chevelle 4 dr. The pieces where missing when I got the car.
They have 2 screws that hold them to the pillar and I believe they are meant

2003-02-19 Thread John Nasta
Hi Bill,

I don't think I have an example, but it does become a job because somebody
has to copy & paste them into a file as they come up and then separate the
wheat from the chaff. I guess it's one of those things that this guy just
took it upon himself to do. It has to be somebody who has the free time I
suppose.

The snippets sound like a good idea.but it takes a lot of time. Do you
have one so we can see what it looks like? or is it too far off the list
topic.
