There's also the 'TPI/TBI Engine Swap Guide' (or something close to that) from JTR Publishing. Very useful book. I can also recommend thirdgen.org. André, I have been envolved in sales and customer service for over 30 years and some peoples' ideas of "servicing the customer" greatly differ from mine. First off, you try your best to keep your competitation's name out of all conversations and communications you have with a customer; present or future. Second, you never, never, ever bad mouth the other guy; goes against ethics and integity. And third, if you can't do, or get, what the customer whats or needs, you try to point them in the right direction. You do not act offended or treat them like they are a dumb ass for not knowing what you offer; that's why you are there, selling is helping! I have a friend who is looking to replace the aftermarker "racing" seats in his 1970 Elky with a pair of the stock style seats. The color and the condition of the skins is not important, as they can be reupholstered if necessary, basically just looking for a good starting point, with the bracketry and whatnot. The motors themselves are the same for all of those years with the exception of whether they fit the left or right side of the car. I have the regulators with motors attached for $129 each. They are all in stock. There is room to deal on those. If anyone is interested, contact me privately. John Nasta

To me, nice things about them over factory style is (1) ease of installation and (2) they can be removed at any time and your manual window crank put back on if you want to move them to another car. Sneaky me, I didn’t put switches in the rear of the car so my grandkids couldn’t ‘play’ with the windows :*) Dale McIntosh 67 El Camino 1967 Chevelle Reference CD beta now available! Does the rotary part that the handle used to fit on still stick out of the door panel? If so, what did you do to cover it up? Overall, how did you like them? I just checked with http://www.a1electric.com and they have kits for the 68-69 2-dr post but not the coupe. For 68 and 69 hardtop they state, “Bolt in window kit is not available for this application. The GM90-K and GM93-K will not work correctly in this car!” Maybe someone else makes them but another alternative is to use a universal kit like those from Spal or http://www.autoloc.com/search.lasso?partno=pw44 . They don’t replace the entire assembly but rather have a drive that slips over the factory handle stub and it’s motorized. I used a complete set of four on my 67 and really liked them. Easy to install and didn’t have to take apart the entire door or rear quarters to make ‘em work. Here’s a photo of a unit on my front door and the rear windows were essentially the same setup. http://www.dalesplace.com/images/chevelle/elec_windows.jpg Dale McIntosh 67 El Camino 1967 Chevelle Reference CD beta now available! RE: [Chevelle-list] vent knob solution
The Motormite/Dorman web site is a great place to look up all the little knobs, hardware, and electrical parts that you can find at the local parts store. http://www.motormite.com/ I was just on it and it's painfully slow right now for some reason. I like that thing where you can pick your year & model and then find the parts that fit your car. My friend Kevin has something similar going at http://giautoparts.com (with CCI Triad cataloguing for any of you who know what that is). He is also currently offering free shipping on orders over $50. The site still has some bugs, so be patient if something comes up with a price of $0 or some other oddball thing like that. they have been in business for decades though and have a huge in-stock inventory. RE: [Chevelle-list] vent knob solution
Nice tip, never thought of a heat gun. They can certainly be pesky to remove, especially when the unit is still in the car. Dale McIntosh 67 El Camino 1967 Chevelle Reference CD beta now available! RE: [Chevelle-list] RE: Hot start probs
I was having the same start issues with my '66 since I have headers- I was told by a guy at a local car show to just buy one of the Summit Torquemaster racing starters. That's what I did and for 2 years I have had no starting issues. Best advice I could have gotten.
