Re: [Chevelle-list] wiring harness
If it is a 70 there should be a bolt right in the middle of the plug. Once that is loosened (I don't recall if it comes all the way out or if it is captured) Then you can unplug the harness. You may have to wiggle and pull a bit, cause sometimes they get a bit cooked under there and nearly fuse together. Make sure you replace any of the grease you remove on the block, so that the connections will be resistant to moisture. -- Shawn On Aug 18, 2006, at 8:33 PM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: How does the wiring harness disconnect at the fire wall. does it just simply unplug or is there a latch or something holding it in. i've tried to unplug it but it does'nt seem to want to cooperate. It has a long bolt in the center, look closer and you should be able to find it. good luck Eddie 66ss conv.[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: How does the wiring harness disconnect at the fire wall. does it just simply unplug or is there a latch or something holding it in. i've tried to unplug it but it does'nt seem to want to cooperate. Re: [Chevelle-list] 65 Chevelle back seat seat belts
My wife's 63 Corvair had front belts, but none in the rear, not even a place to mount them. I got a really nice set of oe-style belts and anchor plates from Juliano's. I've had a number of 64 and 65 Chevys over the years and most have had provisions for mounts, even in the rear. Most simply had rubber plugs in them and were unable to discern from the top. I found them crawling around under the car. I am too old to remember (and we did not care) if my old Chevelle in high school was the same. I looked on Team Chevelle but found no articles. Help me, Russ
Re: [Chevelle-list] 65 Chevelle back seat seat belts
My 65 Malibu SS conv had no belts at all in back. If you had one in the middle, somebody added that for an infant seat. I added my own with plates and bolts from a 72 Chevelle. I can send pictures direct to you if you want. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]On Behalf Of Russ Miesner Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 1:29 PM To: Chevelle-list@chevelles.net Subject: [Chevelle-list] 65 Chevelle back seat seat belts In my 65 Chevelle I put in new carpeting last year. Re: [Chevelle-list] Carrier Rebuild?
Trooper I guess the voice of reason should tell me that I need to just bite the bullet and rebuild it. Your rightbetter to do it now while it is easy than have to do it later. Thanks Ryan
Re: [Chevelle-list] Carrier Rebuild?
That's an Eaton carrier and I would at least put new clutches and springs in it before I installed it. It would be a real disappointment if you found you had to after you got it all set up. I don't know of any way to test them out of the car. The carrier that I am thinking about rebuildingis an original GM 12 bolt posi. I know they have rebuild kits but I hate to do that if it is not necessary. Thanks Ryan
Re: [Chevelle-list] 65 Chevelle back seat seat belts
That is disappointing, isn't it? In reworking my front seats, I made a 3" square plate at each bolt hole and 3/4" bolts and nuts. If you have the location from a similar or later year model, should be pretty easy. good luck mike --- Russ Miesner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: - In my 65 Chevelle I put in new carpeting last year.
