Just a Heads UP.

There is no such thing as Yahoo! Finance. Also, there is no such company as

There are very similar scams off e-bay for chevelles. To me anytime they
magically are going to throw in shipping to your door for free something
odd is going on. You just need to pay them up front and wait a few days
then a car will show up. nothing strange about that at
all. I highly doubt these people are real or even in the United States. I
have a feeling if anyone answers they will strangely sound like they are
not from Plano Texas.

Your response is worded fairly well which is surprising. The one I got
off e-bay was amusing. I inquired about a 70 chevelle as well. The
response I had was, My brother left to fight the war in Iraq and left it
with me and he asked me to sell it. I would love to keep it but I'm
afraid I might dump it over.
Obviously they got it mixed up with a motorcycle scam they are also
running. Be careful out there!

Hello,
I'm glad that you're interested in my car. The car is street legal and
accurate. It comes with all the documents needed for registration, it has
a clear title and it can be registred into your name at any time. I am
willing to sell it for $4500.This buy now price does include the shipping
and insurance fees. I'm located in Plano,TX and the car is here as well
and so this is where the car will be shipped from. I've done some research
and the best and fastest way I can ship it is using Hemisphere cargo
Shipping Ltd which takes between 4 to 6 days to arrive at your door (door
to door handling and shipping insurance fee included). I am affiliated
with Yahoo! Finance where I have a purchase protection account for $
10,000.00. This service allows us to complete this transaction in a manner
that is quick and safe for both of us. It acts as a third party between
seller and buyer to insure that both parties comply to transaction
requirements and provides dispute resolution and mediation between
parties. Yahoo! Finance is responsible to insure that both parties comply
to transaction requirements. If this is ok with you please reply with your
complete name, address and shipping address in your next email and let me
know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so
that I can open a transaction case at Yahoo! Finance and move forward with
this deal.

Re: [Chevelle-list] Spindle

2006-10-12 Thread Greg Falco

We just replaced the springs, shocks, spindles and put new
brakes on our 1970 Chevelle. We are doing a frame off restoration so the body
was off
the frame. However, the best way to put in the new springs
is to put the spring compressor rod through the top of the upper control arm in
the hole
used to secure the shock. If the spring compressor rod is
to thick, shave the hole on the upper control arm until the rod fits through.
Use only the
bottom claws the come with the spring compressor and as you
screw the rod in from the top it will pull the spring up toward the upper
control arm.
In order for the car not to lift off the ground and to
compress the upper and lower control arms so that they are about 7" apart (the
amount needed
to put the new spindle in place) we put a hydraulic jack
under the lower control arm and as we compressed the spring from above, we also
jacked
up the lower control arm. It took us only about fifteen
minutes to do each side. The castle nut will then fit and thread down far enough
to put the
cotter pin in. Keep in mind we are working with a frame
only. I don't know if you will have enough clearance or not to get the spring
compressor rod
into the top of the upper control arm while the body is on
the car. Hope this helps.

TH400 are electrically controlled for downshifts only. It is controlled
by
vacuum for upshifts like a TH350. I have one in my 70. It will shift
into
2nd gear at 15 mph, and 3rd at 30 if I baby it. I have had this problem
with
the TH350 in my Cutlass but it was shifting at 3800 and found that it
was a
broken vacuum line going to the vacuum pod on the tranny. I put a new
line
on it and it cured the problem. Hoe this helps.

[Chevelle-List] TH 400 Questions.

2001-09-30 Thread Greg

Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List

I have a question. I know TH400's are not cable controlled. I know
mine shifts WAY to hard. The motor has to climb to about 2500 rpm
before it'll shift into second, even when I am babying the throttle
(just cruzin nice and slow). Is there a way you can change the shift
points? I don't really care about wide open shift points; I can hold it
in gear if I want a certain RPM. This is my 1st TH400, so I am lost.
Thanks for the help.

Turn th headlight switch on. (Pull it all the way out.) Reach up under
the
dash to the switch housing. you will feel a small spring loaded button
on
the bottom. Push this button in and pull the knob the rest of the way
out of
the housing. Then you can unscrew the bezel retaining nut. If you have
snap
ring pliers they will work otherwise I usually use a pair of needle nose
pliers to get into the two grooves. Hope this does the trick for you!

Let me start out by saying that I think the people and
the country that harbors these zealots should be delt
with severe force, just because one person thinks that
killing people is not the right avenue to follow is
not reason too oust them from office, killing people is
a very personal subject and not wanting to kill is not
a very good reason to start a vendeta to kick them out
of office. Indeed these are trying times, but this is
a forum for Chevelles, not a political arena too
decide
if someone is a good American because they think
killing is wrong! God bless America, and the people
and families who lives were affected by the terrible
event that happened on the east coast, we are
smothered 24/7 by the events that happened last
Tuesday by the media, this list can be a small escape
for all the people who own Chevelles, lets get back to

i don't know much about the rest of the country as far as licensing but here
in Oregon you can't do that anymore. it seems some moron was selling copies
(CD ROMs) of the dmv records (they were public) and some do-gooder got upset.
i agree with this as in 1971 some strange circumstances came upon me.
my 65 chevelle (L-79) had been supposedly at one time had been stolen
and
stripped.the owner had bought it back from the insurance company funny thing
is the only thing missing was the motor and transmission the hood was even
there. my buddy bought the car from them, put a motor and trans in, and sold
it too me.
about 6 months after i bought it, the first owners came by (how did they find
me ?). they offered me almost twice what I paid for the car. They left that
day telling me they would be back the beginning of the week with the money.
that night guess what someone stole my car! I did recover it (thank God for
hidden kill switches) intact.
Well, guess what I never saw them again.
