Re: [Chevelle-List] Dumb Delco Radio question for 67 Chevelle SS
the new distributor system may be producing radio frequences and basically scrambling the radio and keeping it from working. That may be the cause buta simple way to usually fix it is to twist the wires together in that area like you see done in braids in someone's hair. From: Ken's Email To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Saturday, January 18, 2003 11:02 PM Subject: [Chevelle-List] Dumb Delco Radio question for 67 Chevelle SS Hope this is not a lame question for my 1967 Chevelle SS. Question: I recently pulled the 396 engine and had a friend install a unilite distributor system to replace the points and condensor. Prior to these events the Delco Radio was working. Now, the radio is not working. First I will check the apparent loose wires in the trunk where the 6 x 9 speaker is.But, my question is would any of the two events above, re: engine removal or changing ignition to unilite affect Delco radio, e.g., removal of condensor ? Duh ? Personally, I do not think it is related but who knows. Second, if I take it to my friend to trouble shoot the radio, advice on troubleshooting ? Third, assuming the Delco radio is not working now and I want to keep the original look of this numbers matching 67 SS, do I have the radio repaired or just have an upgrade CD player/radio installed and place it somewhere out of sight (e.g., glove compartment box). It was nice to have the original Delco radio working but to repair it costs more than a more modern CD/radio player. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Ken McDee Do you Yahoo!?Yahoo! [Chevelle-List] 1972 malibu
I finally got around to inspecting my car a little closer since i bought it. All the interior needs to be replaced i seem to have all my gauges though. The body was in decent shape except for lh quater panel which the person did a shitty patch job on. The frame looks to be in good shape. It supposedly has original 307, th350, and rear end. The title say it has 97,000 miles onthe dash says98,000 something don't know if it has tripped or all original. I paid $1100 dollars do you think i did pretty good. I have some pics of it after sanding it down to bare metal to put on a coat of primer.

Naturally the first thing my wife says is "Now what did you order?" "Nothing honey, I swear, what is it?" I reply. Apparently, while at the Bristol Bash I won second place in the Muscle on the Mountain drag race! That's a shock considering I was never able to makea full power run. Either way, Year One sent me a gift certificate for $100 and a cool glass trophy that lights up from underneath, and they didn't even charge me for shipping! cYa- Herb Lumpp1966 El CaminoACES 3509, MCC 528http://users.adelphia.net/~hlump/
[Chevelle-List] 300 horse heads
My dad just bought a350 for $250. The man we bought it from says it has 300 horse heads. We got it fired up now we just got to remove it out of the vehicle it is in. We haven't taken off the valve covers to get the the casting numbers. They are supposedly the double hump heads, but still drilled so that you can bolt on accessories such as a/c and power steering brackets. They do not have the double humbs, but they have a line going up between the machine surfaces for mounting the accesories about 1/4 inch wide and about 1/2 long. Is there any possiblities that these are 300 horse heads. Thanks Wes wilson

Pull a valve cover and find the number. It'll be a 6 or 7 digit number. -Dave -Original Message-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of H W WilsonSent: Sunday, November 10, 2002 1:45 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: [Chevelle-List] 300 horse heads My dad just bought a350 for $250. [Chevelle-List] 68 Camaro
I found out some more information about 68 camaro here for sale and was wanting to see if ya think it may be worth the money. 68 RS Camaro. Seats were just recovered, new dash pad, and interior has been painted. New door panels, carpet needs to be replaced. The heater control needs to be fixed. The body has one dent and no real large signs of rust just a few small spots. It had a 327 originial but now has 400 small block with TH350 behind it. New tires and rims and the man wants $5000. It seems a little steap to me but just was wondering cause i haven't did much looking for one.
Re: [Chevelle-List] Clock/Gas Guage Checkout
You can check your gas gauge by wiring a potentiometer in the circuit. Not sure about the spelling of it, but that is basically what a sending unit is. - Original Message - From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 04, 2002 8:26 AM Subject: [Chevelle-List] Clock/Gas Guage Checkout I just purchased a used bezel for my '67. How can i check to make sure the clock and gas guage work correctly without using my existing wiring from my car and before installation? The speedo was easy... it works fine.
