Not sure where you store your car, but if it is inside like mine, i have
been buying the grey Menards covers, they are like 20.00, and work fine, I
have also bought the Technalon from Cover Craft (beige in color) for some of my
cars, they fit very nice and look nicer sitting there with the tight
fitting cover. But i have asked Cover Craft what the diffrences are and never
got
any anwser.

If you cover the car outside I would be sure to secure it very well!!
I did this for a while and the paint on the roof corners on the car wore
off!! and I had it pretty secure.
Also Covercraft makes a good cover.

Jim,

What about Chicago with all that wind chill. I remember being out
attempting to get my wife's car started that stopped on the side of the road
in -80 degree wind chill which was coming across a open field. Now that's
cold. I agree with you though, how harsh can a North Carolina winters be?
Just this year I had to have the car in the drive way for a couple of days
and so I put my cover on it. I came out the next morning and wondered where
in the world did it go, did someone steal it. I walked around to the other
side of the car to find the wind had blown it completely off the car and it
was laying between my Chevelle another car. I have strapped it around the
underside of the car in the middle and that doesn't always do the job
either. Come out to find only the middle of the car covered and the front
and rear blown up revealing the those areas of the car exposed.

Mikey, I've used a number of different covers and the two that I have had
great luck with are ones made of NOAH fabric and one made of Stormweave
fabric. For the money NOAH is great and keeps out the moisture really
well. I've had it form a swimming pool in the back of a truck that didn't
have a support to force the rain off to a side. Stormweave is more
expensive by 30%, but it is much lighter and compacts much more if you pull
it off and store it in your trunk. I think that even though it is less
expensive NOAH has a longer warranty. I've found the best prices recently
at MarkII.com.

My experience has found that most covers are manufactured by a few people
and sold by many, so decide on a fabric and shop price.

Hope this helps,
Gene

I have not bought anything from personally, but hear good things about them.

Let me know how you make out, I have a '69 and will be in the car cover
market in a year or so.

Great memory! That is the place. I bought a cover for my ElCamino from
them in 98. I want to buy from them again.
Thanks,

Stupidity for the day: An Edmonton politician wants to eliminate
crosswalks because "They give pedestrians a false sense of security."

That's the problem with pedestrians, they act like they own the whole
crosswalk :)

For what its worth, I got mine from Lordco Auto Parts, here in
Victoria. They have a website (lordco.com,) and I expect that they
will do mailorder.

I am very pleased with mine. I'd buy another, if I had another car to
put it on. :-)

I'm also interested in this info. I need to buy a good cover that is
lockable, won't scratch/harm my paint, and that I can leave outside
occasionally (like when I go to Chevellabration). My car will be
garaged pretty much all of the time, and will rarely site out, but I
want to be ready to properly cover it if I do leave it out.

[Chevelle-List] Car Covers (wolf?)

2002-01-10 Thread Michael Ishee

I had earlier asked about car covers and a few people told
me they just bought Wolf covers from NPD.
I looked in their magazine and I saw nothing that mentioned a cover by
the name of Wolf but did see a lot of other covers that looked to be a very
good investment.  For reference I am
looking on page 10 and 11 in the catalogue.
I would appreciate anyone’s advise that
has had any experience with these covers or tell me where I can find a Wolf
cover.

Thanks

Michael
