That's the plan--I'm going to drive to the show, use a squirt bottle with
water to spray the car towel it off, then check out the rest of the
rides. I really don't expect to win anything I'm not anal
enough to get out the toothbrush scrub everything down. I do
have a question about a decal--I got the Harrison decal for the A/C box
I can't find any pictures or info anywhere about its
location. Anyone her know? It's a '68 SS 396.
Pelle, I'll try to get photos of it to your site tonight.
Thanks to all of ya'll for the help.

Hi Bill,

If your car was just painted you should wait at least a few weeks before
putting wax on it. I don't know all the details for this, but it has
something to do with the chemicals in the paint needing to evaporate before
wax is applied.

Personally, I like Mother's and The Wax Shop products.

As for info about your car, that's totally up to you. If you've put a lot
of work into it and have before and during pictures, I've noticed a lot
of people seem to enjoy looking at them. After they look at the pictures,
they check the car out and then look at the pictures some more. When they
get done they usually walk away shaking their head with a smile on their
face.

I'm taking the Chevelle to a car show this Saturday was wondering if you
could give me some tips about prepping the car. It's at the body shop
getting buffed out, I'll wax shine it before I go to the show. I've
heard good things about Liquid Glass and Meguro's Gold Class products--any
ideas on these? I'll be driving the car about 20 miles to the show, so
it'll need some work when I get there. I have a California Car Duster that
I use my the daily drivers, but is this good to use on the Chevelle or do I
need to get something else? Any and all advice is welcome, this is the
first car show that I have ever attended as a participant, so I need a
little help. Do I need to print up some stuff about the car show it in a
binder, or does that kind of thing matter? The show is sponsored by the
local Pontiac club. There are a bunch of Pontiac classes, but I'll be in
the 1960~1969 all cars group.

Thanks,
BL

Just remember, what ever you use, make sure the car is clean on the inside too and your tires are nice and new looking, white letters are really white and your engine is freshly painted looking (all hose clamps are the same and tight) Decals, air cleaner and service decals are new and in the right place. Clean, clean, clean..
