I think the convertors are difeerent. The starters are similar but different in the brace from starter motor housing to block. The PG's themselves are different however. There's a difference in the gear ratio, clutch pack, some sixes have holes in bellhousing for cooling. A six cylinder PG might not hold up well behind a 350. (a turbo 350 is an easy swap though) To go from six to eight or vs versa you need the proper motor mounts, radiator(and filler panel for V8), engine harness, throttle and kickdown linkages, PS hoses, exhaust. The holes for the frame mounts should already be in place, just get the frame and matching engine mounts - preferably those with the safety lock. Don't know if the PG will bolt up to the V8 or not, never made that swap - may need starter for the V8 (?). Naturally, you'll need all associated brackets for alt/ps/ac if equipped. Exhaust manifolds or headers. Might have to play a bit with routing of existing wiring such as alt. Factory or aftermarket parts for a V8 shouldn't be a big problem since the 64 was available with the 283.
