Forum style...does this mean that messages can begin with I was a student at a small Midwestern college and I never thought something like this would happen to me... ;^) Brad O.

If so, does anyone else have web based experience? OK, now here's the real kicker, is anyone interested in making the leap into the next level of communicating? I guess what I'm trying to sell here is turning the list into a forum based deal. Kinda like this: http://broncoii.org/b2forum/index.php or this: http://www.wheelingadventures.com/Northern4x4/ikonboard.cgi or even this: http://forums.genvibe.com/zeromain I'm a member of all three of these. It works great, and you don't have to worry about people getting all aggrevated about getting off the list, and you can check whatever posts you want to check, whenever you want to check them. It also organizes the subjects up, so if wsomeone has a technical question, they can post it in a tech realted section, and someone that just wants to BS, can post in the general discussions area. I for one would love to see us turn the list this direction. I think it would be beneficial to all of us. Just a suggestion. I wish I was experienced enough, and had the web space to put it together myself, but alas, I can not. I would however be willing to help out as much as possible with the sites creation. Pelle, this may be something for your page. It would add a lot of traffic, which could stir up interest from sponsor types. Maybe a little extra $$ for the Chevelle!?! Comments on the idea SARGE

RE: [Chevelle-list] Forum style
Most welcome. I had initially heard about this mailing list from that site. TONS of good stuff there. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Fruhauf Kerry A SSgt 3 CS/SCBS Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2004 3:47 PM To: The Chevelle Mailing List Subject: RE: [Chevelle-list] Forum style OUTSTANDING! Is everyone here on that forum? Am I the only one that missed it? I was just thinking it would be cool to start one for US specifically. I'll sign up for that one, I suppose, if no one wants to get one rolling for the List. I just figured it was a good way to share pics and stuff! Thanks for the link! SARGE I think this list is a little more personal, plus you get it as e-mail instead of having to go to a browser. Also, if you start archiving all of the e-mails, you'll run out of space pretty quick. I don't know how you found this list, but I came here from the www.chevelles.com Team Chevelle site. The link is there for this list as well as the Chevelle Tech forums and all of the other Chevelle stuff in their site. It would be a better deal for pictures, but that's the only advantage I can see. Also, if you did change it, what would I do with my Craft-O-Matic Subscription Cancellation Unit? Anyone here wish to buy it?? :-)) BL

I do love the Craft-O-Matic Subscription Cancellation Unit! I guess it's not a good idea after all. :( Oh, well. Ya win some, ya lose some. As long as you're not losing to rice rockets, it's all good! Re: [Chevelle-list] Forum style
Actually it's surprisingly easy to set these up. Here's a free one that is really good: http://www.phpbb.com/ and here it is in use http://www.indianachevelles.com/phpBB2 http://www.5speedtransmissions.com/phpBB2/ You need a web host that supports PHP, and one of several databases (I use MySql). And that's about it. I'd be glad to help you set it up. Mike Fruhauf Kerry A SSgt 3 CS/SCBS wrote: Anyone on the list have webspace sitting idle? If so, does anyone else have web based experience?
