Re: [Chevelle-List] Texas Swap Meets

2003-01-24 Thread Clint Hooper
Maybe we could have a mini get-together at Decatur like some of us did a few
years ago. A friend of mine has some spaces there and has invited me to join
them for the weekend. We could grill some burgers and hang out together,if
anyone's interested.
I'm going to try to attend a couple of the Arlington meets,Pate meet in
April, and the Super Chevy event at the Texas Motorplex. Have already put in
a week of vacation for Chevell-Abration in June.

Clint,

http://www.signpast.com/CATALOGUE14.html shows some of the major swap
meets around here. Pate [April 24-27], Arlington [Nov 8-9], Wichita
(not Falls) [Feb 7-8], Chickasha [March 20-22], Decatur [Feb 21-23],
plus a couple in Kansas, Arkansas, Iowa and Wisconsin.

I might hit Decatur if there's anything I think I might need between now

I guess there'll never be a car in the garage (my shop is in there and

have to go somewhere else. But the place is great, got a park out front

If you are referring to the Dana 44 rear ends found
in manual trans C4 Corvettes(85-96),the rear cover on the 44 has three bolts
running across the top of the rear inspection cover. Dana 44 is also stamped on
the housing.

Ohh,I'm definitely going to buy me another El Camino. Just haven't found the
right car for my needs as it will have to be my daily driver. As such,it
will have to have a/c,power brakes,power steering,etc.
As for the '60 Vette,I'm going through my mid-life crisis and really want
another roadster.

I'm convinced there's no way to make money on a car unless it's either
given to you or you pick it up at auction.so why not spend your money
on your car/truck and get it the way you want itbeats buying a lot of
other things I can think of that don't give you nearly as much joy

Cool about the Corvette...maybe you could get a project car and a show

for the start-up project car (another Elky?) Guess you can tell I'm partial

There is a race held in Texas(near San Angelo maybe). The road race is a long
race on the streets. The object is to predict your average speed over the
course and try to hit it dead on. The classes are average speed of 80, 100,
120, 140mph. I think it is held each spring. I heard of it from some
Goodyear research and development friends.
Stockyards..my sick mind I guess..I really enjoyed being thrown from the
mechanical bull.

I read on TC that it's $45 for non-members. I assume that's to "register"
and another $12 for the wife. I'm wondering if the $12 is per day or for
the entire event?

Hey Paulcurrently we are in East Texas close to Lake Fork (90 miles due

east of Dallas), but we're moving back very soonI had hoped to get some

interested parties so that by the springtime, we might get a new club
going.

I was actively seeking people to form a new club when we lived there before

(about six months ago), but when we found out we were going to live here, I

stopped. Now that we are going back I wanted to pick up where I left off.
I've got several interested parties from this list. The club would be
located in Dallas, but members from anywhere would be welcome. I joined the

Metroplex Muscle car list (mostly Chevelles) and hoped they might be
interested in the same thing, but when I wrote, I got only one response.
