Re: [Chevelle-list] pics from weekend cruise at Nottingham PA
I had a 49 model from age 14 til I went in the service. My brother helped me put a 265 chevy in it. It was a helluva-lot of fun. Right now I'm looking for either another Jeepster or a 65 chevelle convertible. On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 6:00 PM, J. Re: [Chevelle-List] Pics from Bristol... great pics, what camera?
My camera is a Kodak Advantix 4700ix. Trust me when I say it's nothing special. It uses that APS film in the oval canister. I like it because it's very simple to use and the pictures aren't half bad. Help for [EMAIL PROTECTED]: This help message is being sent to you from the Majordomo mailing list management system at [EMAIL PROTECTED] This is version 1.94.4 of Majordomo. If you're familiar with mail servers, an advanced user's summary of Majordomo's commands appears at the end of this message. Majordomo is an automated system which allows users to subscribe and unsubscribe to mailing lists, and to retrieve files from list archives. You can interact with the Majordomo software by sending it commands in the body of mail messages addressed to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". Please do not put your commands on the subject line; Majordomo does not process commands in the subject line. You may put multiple Majordomo commands in the same mail message. Put each command on a line by itself. If you use a "signature block" at the end of your mail, Majordomo may mistakenly believe each line of your message is a command; you will then receive spurious error messages. To keep this from happening, either put a line starting with a hyphen ("-") before your signature, or put a line with just the word end on it in the same place. This will stop the Majordomo software from processing your signature as bad commands. Here are some of the things you can do using Majordomo: I. FINDING OUT WHICH LISTS ARE ON THIS SYSTEM To get a list of publicly-available mailing lists on this system, put the following line in the body of your mail message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]: lists Each line will contain the name of a mailing list and a brief description of the list. To get more information about a particular list, use the "info" command, supplying the name of the list. For example, if the name of the list about which you wish information is "demo-list", you would put the line info demo-list in the body of the mail message. II. SUBSCRIBING TO A LIST Once you've determined that you wish to subscribe to one or more lists on this system, you can send commands to Majordomo to have it add you to the list, so you can begin receiving mailings. To receive list mail at the address from which you're sending your mail, simply say "subscribe" followed by the list's name: subscribe demo-list If for some reason you wish to have the mailings go to a different address (a friend's address, a specific other system on which you have an account, or an address which is more correct than the one that automatically appears in the "From:" header on the mail you send), you would add that address to the command. For instance, if you're sending a request from your work account, but wish to receive "demo-list" mail at your personal account (for which we will use "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" as an example), you'd put the line subscribe demo-list [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the mail message body. Based on configuration decisions made by the list owners, you may be added to the mailing list automatically. You may also receive notification that an authorization key is required for subscription. Another message will be sent to the address to be subscribed (which may or may not be the same as yours) containing the key, and directing the user to send a command found in that message back to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (This can be a bit of extra hassle, but it helps keep you from being swamped in extra email by someone who forged requests from your address.) You may also get a message that your subscription is being forwarded to the list owner for approval; some lists have waiting lists, or policies about who may

Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List Actually, we never did have the ability to send pictures via this mailing list. With an average of 250-300 subscribers times a 200K+ (I've had bounces of 2meg images!) picture = one heck of a lot of email/bandwidth for a web server to process every time. Plus, many of the list members may not want pictures coming in to their home (slow connection would take ages) or work (whatcha doing using our connection for car pictures?) plus curious network admins and corporate servers having to sniff the files to see just what these attachments are coming into the company. In general, mailing lists have always been called discussion lists, and this is what they perform best as. Just an explanation from the admin end. al -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: February 1, 2002 6:00 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Chevelle-List] pics Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List thanks to the "party russians" for ruining the fun- ok i guess no one will be able to send any pictures then. we better not build anymore tall buildings either??? - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Yep since the list doesn't allow pictures, it greatly limits the usability of the forum. Instead we gotta do a web page and then link to it to show pictures. I much prefer being able to include them in emails, but it's not my choice. If we all had up-to-date AV progs running 24/7/365, then we could have 'em. As far as the tall buildings gowell, we may not see that many world's tallest go up until we get control of our air scenedon't get me started on that one. Kelly C. RE: [Chevelle-List] pics of Herb's smugglers box?
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List I am also looking forward to the pictures. I'm curious to see what was done and how it is different from the typical smugglers box. From what I have seen of Herb's Elky, it looks like he is doing everything first-class all the way. -Original Message- John, I'm not talking about the little plastic box that goes behind the drivers seat. Did you read the posts about the special conversion that Herb had done to his '66? That's the one I want pictures of. RE: [Chevelle-List] pics of Herb's smugglers box?
Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List David, If you have a 69 El Camino, it should already have a smuggler's box. If the box is missing for some reason, I sell them for $113.95 (just search for smugg) and I'm sure other people sell them too. Infection City! It really depends on whose on your list and whether or not they run AV programs. I belong to one list where we all have AV progswe send attachments, pictures, web pages, etc. all the time without any problems. There's over 50 people on the list that participate and 100+ that belong. So it really has nothing to do with attachments at all. They are as safe as text if everyone on the list has the right setup on their computer. Of course this list is not high profile, so "day joiners" don't fly in and shit on the list and leave like they can this one. That's why I am glad that Al put a cap on file sizes. It's a pain not to be able to send pictures for clarity and such, but we can always send links to web pages. Kelly C. Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List Yes, Al put a cap on the size of things that can be sent to the list so it sounds like your post was too large. It's not a good idea to send attachments to an email list anyway - people will get in the habit of assuming all attachments are OK and then BLAMMO! Infection City!
