Re: [Chevelle-list] 66 Console restro question

2005-04-28 Thread richard sierra

As a owner of corvette over the years, I wouldn't want that info published especially in a big city - Too easy to get lost- In a less populated area, one might not be so concerned as everyone knows each other -
In fact, my '66 Chevelle was stolen and partially stripped before I got it back -The thieves lived in the car for a period of time as I foundcans of food and cooking utensils in the trunk

Thats an interesting idea. I'd think that not too many corvette
owners would want their location publicized.I can see I'm wrong.
I'd be concerned about securitywith a high dollar car.

If you can use Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), it
is even more gentle, and usually can get it in 50lb bags at SAMS or a feed
store.
I've seen people blast the paint off of a coke can
with it.

I wonder if it would be worthwhile to try to start a simple web site where
people post their VIN numbers and just maybe the original owners might stop
by and can contact the person who currently owns the car. It would have to
be anonymous (just email addresses, no full names or addresses). Might also
be a way for a seller to find the one person who would pay absolutely the
most to buy that particular car (again). Just a thought. I'll probably never
do it.
