I used a sand blaster on mine. It took all paint of the plastic and left the natural grain finish on. Very pleased with the results. If you can use Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), it is even more gentle, and usually can get it in 50lb bags at SAMS or a feed store. I've seen people blast the paint off of a coke can with it. It would have to be anonymous (just email addresses, no full names or addresses).
