Re: [Chevelle-list] 69 Stripes
Joe, They are a stripe that goes down the side from the front fender across the door and to the back of the rear fender. Not the bold stripes across the hood and trunk. There are actually three stripes (one bold and two pinstripes coming to a point at front and rear). There are many pics at. http://www.chevellestuff.com/69velle/gallery.htm Trooper - Original Message - From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, November 01, 2003 10:18 PM Subject: Re: [Chevelle-list] 69 Stripes > http://www.chevellestuff.com/69velle/exterior-interior.htm";>Click here: Exterior-Interior > I LOOKED THROUGH THIS POST REGARDING STRIPES ON A 69 CONVERTIBLE CHEVELLE, > AND ON PAGE 5 OF THIS POST IT SAYS IF YOU HAVE A #71 LE MANS BLUE COLOR EXTERIOR > WITH BLACK CONV. Title: Message Scott, I have some photos of 69's with the dual stripes at http://www.dalesplace.com/htm/gallery/1969_gallery.htm. One of my other sites has the "correct" color side stripes based on the body color and/or vinyl top or convertible top color. I had been thinking of having stripes added when I get my ' 69 painted, but I want to keep everything correct as far as the numbers go. I don't know as I've ever seen the twin hood stripes on the ' 68 and ' 69 hood with the dual humps or if this would even look right or not. Some of the stripes on the side of the car (like the examples on your website) look good to me. Thanks for any input. Scott Jackson1969 CHEVELLE SS 396T/C # 2172

Re: [Chevelle-list] 69 Stripes
Some say yes, some say no. I have seen a 69 that is supposedly documented with the 70-72 stripes although I have never seen the paperwork. You can get a stencil kit from any restoration parts supplier. Tom
