I have heard that ist very rare, like one of two built or something like that, if you would like to have it just ship a mint condition corvette roadster with a 427 435 hp and I will personally fly the speedo to you. OK, I'm just kidding, but I have not seen any other chevelles with a km/h speedo around here so I think its at least a little bit rare. Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List If it has a metric speedo it's an export car. There was something similar on Dream Car Garage on Speedvision. A Hemi Challenger had a kmh speedo They guy that ordered it got sent to Vietnam and was supposed to have the car shipped there as well. The guy ended up being KIA and the car remained in the US, then sold in Canada. Tom - To Unsubscribe please visit www.chevelles.net/list.html To start a new topic, send mail to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I will try the next time to get pics of this car. It is a normal looking USA SS chevelle except for the speedo. The car was previously owned by a cousin and he was the original owner. The car has an original 1966 Kansas Title and is in the original owners (cousin)name. He never transfered the title and parked the car on the farm after the tags ran out. I am sure it is setting by the barn with the 67 SS car still. I offered the guy 5,000.00 cash and was turned down. Oh well, again this car has to be somewhat rare today. I would think. After all, it's an old car and people do all sorts of wacky things for various reasons. It's certainly possible that it was swapped out. The person who did it may not even have realized that it was metric, or maybe didn't care because the price was right. Larry Larry You are right about exports to Europe, almost everyeuropean countryhave Kilometer speedos.England is still mph I believe. When theAmerican and Canadian car companies exported cars they could have different headlights ordered and different tires as alot of the Highways arevery different to drive on,unless you are in Germany and have cars cruise by you at 180 k per hour {110 mph] or faster. The Chevelles built in Belgium could even have a Factory metal sunroof ordered for them.I saw a brand new 1967 black over yellow small block Chevelle in London in July 67 that had the Factory roof installed.I chased the guy all around Piccadilly until I could speak to him about his car,and I remember he paid $10,000 U.S. for it,because of the high duties on non British built cars.It came from Belgium and it was a left hand drive not a right hand drive model. They also built Camaro's in Belgium and the roof was an option also.Rare cars! Hi Mel, Ken here again just to say that in Canada they made cars for shipping to the USA. and Canada made cars to stay in Canada, the ones to stay in Canada usually had block heaters, so thats a good start to see if your was built for Canada only, or built in Canada to ship back to USA, my chevelle was made in Canada for the US and not to stay in Canada Ken

Replies to this message are sent to The Chevelle Mailing List I can attest to the silver cove panel as mine is equipped like that. I also have pictures of an *unrestored survivor* that I will have to scan to show you. This car was exactly the same as mine, with the 283/PG, silver cove, small fender flags, and Chevelle hood and grill. However, it *does* have the rockers along the rear quarter, similar to my car. The car I have photos of (which incidently, I have more pictures of than my own car) didn't have a clock in the console, but instead had a Beaumont emblem.
