I don't know, but I am looking for a 67 to rebuild if anyone has one.
Preferably an RS but will consider others. Looking to spend under $5000.
Thanks

 Hey Gang

I am looking for some input. I have the opportunity to buy a '68 Camaro,
practically in my back yard. It is a project car that ran as recently as 3
or 4 years ago but inside stored for approximately 12 years or longer. Not
the original color or transmission, originally 4spd, with a 350, needing
paint and rocker panels, floor pan, inner fenders, but the rest of the sheet
metal looks decent. Interior is mostly there, but will need new door panels
and seats need recovering, along with headliner, carpet, package tray, etc.

I have checked NADA, Collector Car Market Review, Edmonds and Gold Book,
but still not comfortable enough to make a solid offer. Anyone want to make
a suggestion or lead me to a better resource for pricing ?

 Thanks in advance.

Appeal to the seller that you are going to finish his dream and not out to
make a buck by reselling the car.

Its really hard to put a price on someone elses junk (its all junk to me, even
my black car). I always work it out this way, if I were to junk it and part it
out, what would it bring me? Can I sell the motor/tranny for a few hundred
bucks? How about the fenders? Are the misc. interior pieces that are normally
gone/ broken there? What kind of price would the frame fetch me? Believe it or
not you can run into a couple thousand in just parts if you are willing to sell
it all individually and not sell it in one lump sum. I once bought a 55 Chevy
that was too far gone to fool with but it was complete. I managed to sell
everything off the car including the rotted sheetmetal. I then sold the body to
a guy that made a nostalgia dirttracker out of it. Anyway maybe this will help.

I have a 68 camaro in near the same condition. It needs at least partial
quarters (both) and a patch in the driver side floor. And repair to the
tranny tunnel where someone hacked it for floor shifter. The rest is
probably usable as is.I already have subframe connectors, new springs
(FR) and everything else to rebuild front end with discs. Also new
windshield.Entire interior is there but needs replacing from carpet
to headliner. Its an original 6cyl 3 spd car. A few months ago, I was
gonna sell it and try to get 3-4 K out of it. I weathered my financial
storm and I've since changed my mind about selling it , but at that time I
thought that the 3-4 was a reasonable expectation. My .02 FWIW.

I
think it sounds cheap. There were a butt load of rustangs sold and there
are still a lot around. Production numbers for the 67 and 68 Camaros don't come
close and they are scarce as hens teeth. Sounds like a good deal to me. If you
choose not to buy, please e-mail me off line with more details. I have a friend
whohas beenlooking for one for almost two years
now.

I found out some more information about 68 camaro here
for sale and was wanting to see if ya think it may be worth the
money. 68 RS Camaro. Seats were just recovered, new dash pad, and
interior has been painted. New door panels, carpet needs to be
replaced. The heater control needs to be fixed. The body has one
dent and no real large signs of rust just a few small spots. It had a
327 originial but now has 400 small block with TH350 behind it.
New tires and rims and the man wants $5000. It
seems a little steap to me but just was wondering cause i haven't did much

cause Camaro's are higher priced than a
chevelle. and 68's are one of the most populars. if original motor
and such, I figure that price is in a good range. well, think about it,
what would a 1968 Chevelle SS ( well can't be a SS cause they didn't come with
327's.) or malibu with the original 327. i figure 6-8. camaros are
more expensive, and then add the RS option. Get it?

Value is subject to seller and buyer desires. Shopping around is the only
way to be familiar to what is available and in what range. The following
website allows you to put in a specific make, model, year, price range and
sort capabilities. It's a bench mark and regular comparing develops what's
available and at what price. It really comes down to what are you willing
to pay for what condition. Remember the practical lesson Greg Brady
learned when he bought that beater - buyer beware

Camaro's are expensive as hell - expessically the
RS and SS. I like RS better :-). I'll have to say, if there is no
rust, a matching 327 motor, Wonderful interior, 1 dent on door, it is around 8 -
10 grand.

I've found a `68 Camaro and was wondering if you could
help me out with what it is worth. The interior is in good shape both
bucket seats in wonderful shape, console looks good. It is missing
several pieces out of dash like ash tray and heater a/c controls. It
looks like it came with factory a/c. The body looks in great shape one
dent in door. The 327 is out of it right now to be cleaned up and
painted, but i can't seem to catch up with the owner to see how much he wants
for it. Also it is a RS not SS.
