modification. How much time do you have into this thing Herb?

WOW you been busy Herb, LOOKS GREAAT

Thanks!

Whats you time line for completion?

I really don't know, but I would like to hope for next summer. The biggest
problem is I'm stationed on board a ship and we get underway for six weeks
every six weeks. Unlike my last assignment, my time at home will be limited
for the next two years.

What is that yellow called? It looks a lot like either speed yellow from
Porsche or fly yellow from Ferrari. That's one very enterprising dash
modification. How much time do you have into this thing Herb?

I've just finished a new web page for my Elky. It's not real fancy but I
did put some recent photos on it.

Great looking Elky man! Love that WAV too...I see you fashioned your own
dash...very nice. One day I'd like to have a project car from that body
style. Your page loaded easily and everything worked well...

Looking better all the time Herb! Gauges in the dash look kinda familiar
:*) I think you'll really like the Dakota Digitals...I'm really happy with
mine.

I'm wondering, when people smooth the firewall, how do you reattach the cowl
tag properly? I thought the rivets were special. Does it cause any legal
problems or is it only the VIN tag on the door you have to be careful about?

Anyway Herb, great yellow and we're waiting for the finish. You have a
color scheme yet for the interior? BTW, Pontiac Grand Am seats work pretty
well in a 66/67.

Nice car herb:
6 weeks on the wheels ? Wow! thats not long of a wait compared to the time
you have building the car. Are those valve covers from GM? How long before
you are done?

Hi Rick,

Herb Looks like a great project. I like the stance.

Thanks.

Brings to mind several questions. What is the color?

1996 Ford Probe Vivid Canary (base coat/clear coat) w/ gold pearl in the
clear.

I have always wanted a bright yellow for my camaro, but
I'm gonna loose that decision to my wife (red - ugh).

Tell her everybody has a red car and you want to be different, just look
around! : )

Did you have any problems with the Dakota digital dash?
Is their dash package complete? wiring/sending units??

I bought my gauges about a year ago but I haven't actually powered them up
yet. The guy at Dakota Digital said they have lots of customers buy gauges
years in advance of actually using them and that I shouldn't worry about any
problems, they'll cover it if they don't work properly when finally
installed. That's a nice piece of mind after spending $700.

What color will you use for the interior?

As of right now the interior will consist of body color, black leather, and
light to medium charcoal tweed.

Finally are you doing that at a professional shop? Saw several other
vehicles waiting their turn.
Wherever it is, looks like a nice setup.

It is at a professional shop right now. This is the place that did all the
sheetmetal mods (dash, shave, etc.), rust removal, and paint. They had the
body on a rack while I had the chassis at home in my garage getting the GW
suspension, LS6 etc.

Six weeks is a long time when you're as
impatient as I am. : )

Yep, I bought the valve covers from Chevy
and had them along with the intake powder coated.

The completion date will be sometime in the
future. I don't have a clue to be honest. I still have to get the
car home, finish the interior, wire the whole car, put together the stereo, get
tires for the new wheels. The list just doesn't seem to end.

Thanks Dale.

really like the Dakota Digitals...I'm really happy with
 mine.

Considering the quality of the kit, I'm sure I'll be happy too. Right now I
have a green lens, but I'm thinking of getting a different color once
everything is up and running.

I'm wondering, when people smooth the firewall, how do you reattach the
cowl
tag properly? I thought the rivets were special. Does it cause any

problems or is it only the VIN tag on the door you have to be careful
about?

I don't know about how other people do it, but my firewall was smoothed on
the passenger side only. If you look close you can still see the original
curves on the driver's side. The reasons we did this include the VIN tag,
and the fact that I didn't want to custom make mounts for the master
cylinder, fuse panel, etc.

Anyway Herb, great yellow and we're waiting for the finish. You have a
color scheme yet for the interior? BTW, Pontiac Grand Am seats work
pretty
 well in a 66/67.

As I said in another reply the interior colors will be body color, black
leather, and a light to med gray tweed. I have '85 Corvette leather power
seats for it. Mounts were made on the floor so the seats would bolt in like
factory. The nice thing is if I get tired of the Vette seats, a set of
Recaros will bolt right in too. : )

I forgot to answer this; Yes the package is complete, it has all sending
units including a conversion for those of us originally had mechanical
speedos, the computer control unit, and the wire harness. Very nice kit.

dropped in a 350 I had rebuilt a couple years earlier to get by when I
restored it. Its been about 8 years since ;( Someday!!
