Today is the 22nd of August 2008, Mr. Aaron Russo passed away 24th of
August 2007, I just wanted to make mention that the anniversary of his
passing should not go unnoticed and to send out this email a couple days
prior.

I never met the man, his interviews make you feel like you've known him
all your life. Aaron Russo had a dream and he empowered that dream into
an organization called Restore the Republic.

From a club owner, managing Bette Midler, producing the movies, the
Rose, Trading Places and Teachers, to Running for President in the
Libertarian Party and then forming the Constitution Party, Russo was
full of life and his works continue to echo on.

Russo died of bladder cancer at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los
Angeles, California on August 24, 2007, at age 64, following a six year
battle with the disease. Shortly before his passing, in 2007, Russo
founded RestoreTheRepublic.com to fulfill the political ambitions laid
out in his final film. He publicly passed the torch to Gary S. Franchi
Jr., founder of the Lone Lantern Society of America to lead this new
organization and to carry on his fight. Russo said his goal was to try
and get the word out to the public about what's happening to America --
and give them an opportunity to try to change things. For an epitaph on
his headstone after his death, he told the Las Vegas Sun (November 4,
1999), I want it to say, 'Freedom Fighter.'

Aaron Russo is indeed a Freedom Fighter.

From August 31 - September 2nd the Campaign for Liberty is hosting the
Rally for the Republic in Minnesota. The Rally for the Republic has been
set up as a co-convention to the Republican Convention. I am sending you
this email because I would like to make Aaron Russo's Restore the
Republic an honorary Founding Father of the Campaign for Liberty and to
ask for your help toward fulfilling Mr. Russo's ambitions, carry on the
fight and in Russo's words, try and get the word out to the public
about what's happening to America -- and give them an opportunity to try
to change things.

Please visit: http://www.rememberingrusso.com to help make Russo's
Restore the Republic a Founding Father and to ensure Aaron Russo's
ambition toward Restoring the Republic remains a powerful force. Be a
freedom fighter!

BBN gets $5.7M to build the next Internet

Mass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology - Mass High Tech

BBN Technologies
http://www.bizjournals.com/masshightech/related_content.html?topic=BBN%20Technologies
has landed $5.7 million from the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency
http://www.bizjournals.com/masshightech/related_content.html?topic=Defense%20Advanced%20Research%20Projects%20Agency
for work on developing a multi-terabit optical network.

The Cambridge company, which specializes in acoustic technology, speech
recognition and data mining, is well-known for its role in the
development of the ARPANET, the forerunner of the Internet.

This week's DARPA deal finds BBN agreeing to perform work on the DARPA
Dynamic Multi-Terabit Core Optical Networks: Architecture, Protocols,
Control and Management (Coronet) program. BBN executives said the goal
of the Coronet program is to upgrade the operation, performance,
survivability, and security of the United States' global IP-based
inter-networking infrastructure through improved network architecture,
protocols, and control and management software.

BBN said it plans to collaborate on the project with RTI International
http://www.bizjournals.com/masshightech/related_content.html?topic=RTI%20International,
Renaissance Computing Institute

and LabN Consulting LLC.
http://www.bizjournals.com/masshightech/related_content.html?topic=LabN%20Consulting%20LLC
BBN said the ultimate goal of the project is to make the Coronet
technology available to commercial telecommunications carriers, the U.S.
Department of Defense and other U.S. government networks

Last week, the privately held Cambridge company landed $13 million from
DARPA to fund development of software technologies to translate both
speech and text.

Founded in 1948, BBN recently has also been busy spinning out consumer
technologies such as EveryZing, a media merchandising platform designed
to help web producers and publishers create searchable multimedia content.

UK top cop who led CIA probe found dead

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080311/ap_on_re_eu/britain_police_death_1
By ROB HARRIS, Associated Press Writer /Tue Mar 11, 2:45 PM ET/

MANCHESTER, England - A city police chief who led an investigation into
charges that Britain cooperated with secret CIA flights to transport
terrorism suspects without formal proceedings has been found dead, his
deputy said Tuesday.

Manchester Chief Constable Michael Todd, 50, was found dead in
Snowdonia, about 240 miles northwest of London, Deputy Chief Constable
Dave Whatton said. He had been missing since going out for a walk Monday
during his day off.

Whatton said the body, which was found Tuesday afternoon, had not yet
been formally identified but he believed it was Todd.

He said a coroner's inquest would investigate the cause of death and did
not give any further details.

Todd was elected vice president of the Association of Chief Police
Officers of England and Wales in 2006, according to a biography on his
Web site.

The association gave him the task of looking into accusations that
Britain allowed the CIA to use the country's airports to fly terrorism
suspects to other countries without any extradition hearings, a
clandestine procedure known as extraordinary rendition.

Todd's investigation concluded last June that there was no evidence to
back the claim. Last month, however, Britain admitted one of its remote
outposts in the Indian Ocean had twice been used by the United States as
a refueling stop for the secret transfer of two terrorism suspects.

He and his wife had a daughter and twin sons.

[cia-drugs] US Sen McCain Urges Bush To Veto Bill To Ban CIA Waterboarding

US Sen McCain Urges Bush To Veto Bill To Ban CIA Waterboarding
http://www.nasdaq.com/aspxcontent/NewsStory.aspx?cpath=20080220%5cACQDJON200802201429DOWJONESDJONLINE000748.htm;

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (AP)--Republican presidential candidate John McCain
said President George W. Bush should veto a measure that would bar the
CIA from using waterboarding and other harsh interrogation methods on
terror suspects.

Sen. McCain, R-Ariz., voted against the bill, which would restrict the
CIA to using only the 19 interrogation techniques listed in the Army
field manual.

His vote was controversial because the manual prohibits waterboarding -
a simulated drowning technique that McCain also opposes - yet McCain
doesn't want the CIA bound by the manual and its prohibitions.

McCain, who was tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, is well-known
for his opposition to waterboarding, which puts him at odds with the
Bush administration.

I knew I would be criticized for it, McCain told reporters Wednesday
in Ohio. I think I can show my record is clear. I said there should be
additional techniques allowed to other agencies of government as long as
they were not torture.

I was on the record as saying that they could use additional techniques
as long as they were not cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment,
McCain said. So the vote was in keeping with my clear record of saying
that they could have additional techniques, but those techniques could
not violate international rules against torture.

The legislation bars the CIA from using waterboarding, sensory
deprivation or other harsh coercive methods to break a prisoner who
refuses to answer questions. Those practices were banned by the military
in 2006.

Bush has threatened to veto the legislation, which cleared the House in
December and won Senate approval last week.

One supporter of the bill, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said last week
that if Bush vetoes the measure, he will be voting in favor of
waterboarding.

If a president disagrees with legislation, he should veto it, McCain
said. He said he disapproves that Bush sometimes signs legislation he
dislikes, then issues critical signing statements outlining his
objections.

McCain said he would never issue a critical signing statement: If I
disagree with a law that's passed, I'll veto it.

I think if you disagree with a law, you have a constitutional right to
veto that, authority to veto that, McCain said.

Daryl Gates writes that the Los Angeles Police Department had a

special intelligence unit that ran a program which sent American
spies to Russia, totally clandestine and under deep cover. This
was during the during the same period when Lee Harvey Oswald made
his strange trip to the Soviet Union. A natural question arises;
was Oswald part of the LAPD program?

A few words about *Daryl Gates*

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daryl_Gates are in order. Gates
went to University of Southern California on the G.I. Bill. He
worked closely with the infamous Police Chief *Bill Parker*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_H._Parker_%28LAPD%29. Gates
is a notorious right winger. Even someone as famous as Peter
Ueberroth was not afraid to ask the question, Is it true that
Daryl Gates is a Nazi?

He was in charge during the Watts riot that occurred five days

after the Voting Rights Act passed in 1965. Despite all his
failures during the riots, he was still considered an expert on
riots and riot control and helped prepare other police chiefs for
the riots that would occur in other parts of the country. His
policies were viewed as racist and led to the Rodney King beating
and many other abuses of police power

He started S.W.A.T, Special Weapons and Tactics, which put

military weapons into the hands of the police.

He worked with the Marines at Camp Pendleton to find the best
snipers.

Two interesting facts emerge when studying Daryl Gates.

The first one is how interested he was in Lee Harvey Oswald and
the JFK assassination. Just hours before Oswald was murdered by
Ruby, Gates was on the phone talking to the Dallas Police Department.

The second one is that he was in charge of Robert Kennedy's

security at the Ambassador Hotel the night of RFK's
assassination. Actually, there was no security. Gates kept the
police away, claiming somebody told him Bobby didn't want the LAPD
there.

The Los Angeles Police would burn most of the photos related to

the assassination before Sirhan's trial began. Then Gates kept the
case secret for twenty-five years. When he was forced to release
the files, he had destroyed most of the evidence

Part I: The Greatest Story Ever Told Part I evaluates Christian beliefs
established in the Bible and critiques the historicity of the Bible. In
furtherance of the Jesus myth hypothesis, this part argues that the
historical Jesus is a literary and astrological hybrid,[4] and that the
Bible is based on astrological principles documented by many ancient
civilizations, especially pertaining to movement of the sun through the
sky and stars.

Part II: All The World's a Stage Part II asserts that the United States
was warned about the impending September 11, 2001 attacks, that NORAD
was purposely confused through wargames to allow the planes to reach
their targets, and that the World Trade Center buildings underwent a
controlled demolition. Additionally, the film argues that some of the
named hijackers are still alive, that Hani Hanjour could not have flown
Flight 77 into the Pentagon, that the Bush Administration covered up the
truth in the 9/11 Commission Report, and that the mainstream media has
failed to ask important questions about the official account.

Part III: Don't Mind The Men Behind The Curtain Part III asserts that
the powerful bankers of the world have been conspiring for world
domination and increased power. According to the documentary, the rich
of society have been using their wealth to increase financial panic and
foster a consolidation of independent competing banks. The film details
the Theory of Electronic Conspiracy that the Federal Reserve System, the
central banking system of the United States, was created in order to
steal the wealth of the nation. It showcases the amount of money that
has been made by these rich few during World War I, World War II, the
Vietnam War and now the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. It describes the
goal of these bankers as world power over a completely controllable
public.[2]

9/11 was an inside job.

New Agency
IARPA Develops Spy Tools

Fledgling Agency IARPA Aims to Help Spies With New
Technology

By KATHERINE SHRADER
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON
May 31, 2007 (AP)

It's
called a "Micro Unmanned Aerial Vehicle" (UAV) - Dragonfly - in its
first flight. The insect-sized vehicle's aim is to prove that such
miniaturized platforms for intelligence gathering can work. (AP

http://a.abcnews.com/images/Politics/4b5fc687-b571-48c2-8ed4-ba303d4aeea3_ms.jpeg

WASHINGTON- Using a new laptop and a satellite link, FBI agents can
find out within two minutes whether the fingerprint from a newly
captured suspect overseas matches a terrorist database in Virginia.
Intelligence officials are running documents in languages such as
Arabic through a new computer program called "English Now." It converts
the foreign characters into the Roman alphabet and makes words such as
Baghdad, President Bush or Osama bin Laden jump out to spies who can't
read Arabic.
The language software and the fingerprint-recognition system
are examples of new spy gear that the national intelligence director's
office bought last year. They may seem like tools that should have been
available years ago, but the government isn't noted for its ability to
quickly develop new technology.
A fledging center called IARPA is hoping to change that. The
Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity will try to develop
groundbreaking technology for the 16 spy agencies.
One potential tool sounds like it comes from an episode of Star
Trek: "cloaking" technology that can bend radar around an object to
make it appear it's not there. Others include power sources shrunk
using nanotechnology and quantum computers that can speed
code-breaking, says IARPA acting director Steve Nixon.
"The world has changed in dramatic ways with globalization of
technology," Nixon said in an interview. "These are the things that
might not get done otherwise."
But not everyone is convinced this is the right way to make new spy
tools. The House Intelligence Committee has questions about whether the
government truly needs it.
"Much of this research is already going on," said Rep. Heather
Wilson, R-N.M., the top Republican on the House Intelligence
Committee's panel on technical intelligence. She said IARPA raises
questions about the role of new National Intelligence Director Mike
McConnell, who was supposed to coordinate U.S. intelligence agencies
not get into their daily operations.
"Is it to fund these things and pull them into the DNI's office and
give itself its own turf and projects and pet rocks?" she asked.
There is even resistance within the CIA itself, according to
officials who spoke about the concerns privately. The agency gets money
that is supposed to go for spy tools that can be shared across the
government. CIA spokesman Paul Gimigliano denied any friction, saying
the agency welcomes ideas that promote collaboration on new technology.

In the last half-century, U.S. spy agencies have made technical
breakthroughs large and small. In the 1970s, the CIA shared its
lithium-iodine batteries with the medical field, which now uses them in
pacemakers. Its scientists developed microdot cameras that can produce
images so small that they can be hidden in the period of this sentence.
They also built a life-size robotic dragonfly that could have been used
for surveillance, if only it could have handled crosswinds.
If IARPA can clear some crucial hurdles, including convincing its
congressional skeptics, the new office will be modeled after a similar
agency that develops gee-whiz toys for the Pentagon.
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency was created after the
Russians launched Sputnik in 1957, driving home the U.S. competitive
disadvantage in space. Since then, DARPA researchers have brought the
United States much-heralded advances including stealth technology,
global positioning systems and the Internet.
But it also brought controversy. The agency's Total Information
Awareness data-mining program was launched after the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks to use technology to find terrorists; critics saw it as a step
toward Big Brother-style mass government surveillance. Congress
eliminated the program's funding at DARPA in 2003, but portions were
moved to secret accounts at other agencies.
The new intelligence

There is a crisis in health freedom. On April 30, 2007 the FDA will
close the public comment period on a Guidance which will classify
every alternative practice as medicine so that only licensed physicians
can carry out the procedure AND vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc., will
suddenly become untested drugs which will be forbidden.

Bad? Real Bad! But public outcry can stop this assault on your health
and your freedom.

Spread the word! Tell everyone in your Circle of Influence,

With one in every eight people saying they will refuse to sign-up, up to
five million adults could effectively be refused permission to leave the
country.

Campaigners reacted to Mr Hall's remarks with fury, saying they were yet
more evidence of the lurch towards Big Brother Britain.

Phil Booth, of the NO2ID group, said: The idea that ID cards scheme is
voluntary, and people can opt-out, is a joke.

There are all sorts of reasons why people need to travel, not just for
holidays. There is work, visiting relatives.

What are these people supposed to do? It stretches the definition of
voluntary beyond breaking point. They will go to any length to get
personal information for this huge database. Who knows what will happen
to it then?

Mr Hall, chief executive of the Identity and Passport Service, delivered
his warning during a Downing Street webchat.

One concerned member of the public, Andrew Michael Edwards, asked what
would happen to people who refuse to join the £5.4 billion scheme.

Mr Hall replied: There is no need to register and have fingerprints
taken - but you will forgo the ability to have a passport.

Officials later explained the meaning of his remark.

The first ID cards will be issued in 2009, to anybody who applies for a
passport.

People will be required to give fingerprints, biometric details such as
a facial scan and a wealth of personal details - including second homes,
driving licence and insurance numbers.

All will be stored on a giant ID cards Register, which can be accessed
by accredited Whitehall departments, banks and businesses.

While The ID Cards Bill was going through Parliament, peers agreed an
opt out with Ministers for people who needed a passport, but did not
want to participate in the ID cards scheme.

It was the only way the Lords would accept the legislation, amid howls
of concern that it represents yet another move towards a surveillance
society.

But, as Mr Hall's comments this week make clear, the opt-out only
applies to being physically issued with a card.

In order to get a passport, people will still have to hand over all
their personal details for storage on the ID cards Register - where they
will be treated in the same was as those who agreed to sign-up.

They simply avoid getting the card - even though they will have to pay
the full combined price of £93 for an ID card and passport.

It means that, despite the Government repeatedly insisting the scheme is
voluntary, the only way to avoid signing-up is to never obtain or renew
a passport.

Therefore, anybody who objects to ID cards on principle and wants to
keep their personal details private must remain in the UK for the rest
of their lives.

Critics said it was clear ID cards were being made compulsory by stealth.

Some 6.6million people apply for travel documents each year.

Mr Booth said legal challenges were inevitable, as restricting the right
of free movement is a grave breach of human rights law.

A YouGov survey, published three months ago, found 12 per cent of
Britons would refuse to take part in the scheme, even if it meant paying
a fine or serving a prison sentence.

Mr Booth predicted many of this group would be prepared to bring test
cases to challenge the Government's position in court.

Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Nick Clegg said: This comment
confirms long standing suspicions that the government's claim that the
ID database will be voluntary is simply not true. The voluntary claim is
serving as a fig leaf for a universal compulsory system.

Once again the government's ID card plans are being pursued behind the
backs of the British people.

Labour has become increasingly obsessed with the introduction of ID
cards, claiming they will help to beat fraud and illegal immigration.

But both the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats have fiercely opposed
the scheme, amid concerns costs could spiral out of control.

Governors lose in power
struggle over National Guard
By Kavan Peterson, Staff Writer

A
little-noticed change in federal law packs an important change in who
is in charge the next time a state is devastated by a disaster such as
Hurricane Katrina.
To the dismay of the nations governors, the
White House now will be empowered to go over a governors head and call
up National Guard troops to aid a state in time of natural disasters or
other public emergencies. Up to now, governors were the sole commanders
in chief of citizen soldiers in local Guard units during emergencies
within the state.
A conflict over who should control Guard
units arose in the days after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. President Bush
sought to federalize control of Guardsmen in Louisiana in the chaos
after the hurricane, but Gov. Kathleen Blanco (D) refused to relinquish
command.
Over objections from all 50 governors, Congress in
October tweaked the 200-year-old Insurrection Act to empower the hand
of the president in future stateside emergencies. In a letter
to Congress, the governors called the change "a dramatic expansion of
federal authority during natural disasters that could cause confusion
in the command-and-control of the National Guard and interfere with
states' ability to respond to natural disasters within their borders."
The
change adds to tensions between governors and the White House after
more than four years of heavy federal deployment of state-based Guard
forces to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since the 2001 terrorist
attacks, four out of five guardsmen have been sent overseas in the
largest deployment of the National Guard since World War II. Shortage
of the Guards military equipment such as helicopters to drop hay to
snow-stranded cattle in Colorado also is a nagging issue as much of
units heavy equipment is left overseas and unavailable in case of a
natural disaster at home.
A bipartisan majority of
both chambers of Congress adopted the change as part of the 439-page,
$538 billion 2007 Defense Authorization Bill signed into law last
October.
The nation's governors through the National Governors
Association (NGA) successfully lobbied to defeat a broader proposal to
give the president power to federalize Guard troops without invoking
the Insurrection Act. But the passage that became law also
"disappointed" governors because it expands federal power and could
cause confusion between state and federal authorities trying to respond
to an emergency situation, said David Quam, an NGA homeland security
advisor.
"Governors need to be focused on assisting their
citizens during an emergency instead of looking over their shoulders to
see if the federal government is going to step in," Quam said.
Under
the U.S. Constitution, each state's National Guard unit is controlled
by the governor in time of peace but can be called upfor federal duty
by the president. The National Guard employs 444,000 part-time soldiers
between its two branches: the Army and Air National Guards.
The
Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 forbids U.S. troops from being deployed on
American soil for law enforcement. The one exception is provided by the
Insurrection Act of 1807, which lets the president use the military
only for the purpose of putting down rebellions or enforcing
constitutional rights if state authorities fail to do so. Under that
law, the president can declare an insurrection and call in the armed
forces. The act has been invoked only a handful of times in the past 50
years, including in 1957 to desegregate schools and in 1992 during
riots in south central Los Angeles after the acquittal of police
accused of beating Rodney King.
Congress changed the
Insurrection Act to list "natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious
public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident" as conditions
under which the president can deploy U.S. armed forces and federalize
state Guard troops if he determines that "authorities of the state or
possession are incapable of maintaining public order."
Backers
of the new rules, including U.S. Sens. John W. Warner (R-Va.) and
Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.)

Congressman Ron Paul warns of a new Gulf of Tonkin

False Flag | Gulf of Tonkin | Ron Paul

http://www.911blogger.com/node/5575 http://www.911blogger.com/node/5575

On Thursday, January 11, 2007, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas (R) (but
he's really a Libertarian) hit the house floor and put on the record
what many Americans fear might be coming down the pipe; a new Gulf of
Tonkin incident to initiate a shooting war with Iran.

The truth is that Iran, like Iraq, is a third-world nation
without a significant military. Nothing in history hints that she is
likely to invade a neighboring country, let alone America or Israel. I
am concerned, however, that a contrived Gulf of Tonkin- type incident
may occur to gain popular support for an attack on Iran.

The quote above is from the modified version of Paul's speech, in his
newsletter, linked here.

Thanks, Joe, Silent Patriot, and altruist.

I have to agree, there has NEVER in my lifetime been a candidate for any
office (besides myself) that I have felt more enthusiastic about voting
for as I do Ron Paul. This may be the last chance we have to avoid blood
in our own streets (between true lovers of liberty and the fascist
global government we see forming before own eyes) in the battle to
restore the Constitution and reinstate the limits it places on government.

Dear AFTF Lovers of Liberty and Patriots,

Good news travels fast!

You may have heard that the Honorable Congressman Ron Paul is exploring running for the Republican nomination in 2008.

Congressman Paul will be the only uncompromising defender of the Constitution in the race.

I can't tell you how grateful I felt, how full of heartfelt joy, and how much enthusiasm I felt when I heard the news of his Candidacy. I am 1000% behind him!

Ron Paul has stepped up to the plate because he knows what we all know: the
noose is tightening, and there isn't much time if we hope to restore to
Constitutional Government.

I called Ron yesterday to tell him I am on board to do ANYTHING it takes to support his campaign.

NOW is the time for the ENTIRE Freedom Movement, all Third Parties, ALL GOOD AMERICANS EVERYWHERE, from all political stripes and persuasions, to unite to overtake the weakened Republican Party. Stand firmly behind Ron Paul, and work to restore our Constitutional Republic.

Do not let partisan politics get in the way. No matter what your Party
affiliation, we must support Ron Paul as the Candidate.

Everything in the movie, America: Freedom to Fascism IS Ron Paul.

In my conversation with Congressman Paul, I told him I'll make copies of America: Freedom to Fascism available for his campaign. We will spread them far and wide.

What better way to introduce him to the public than for him to talk to them in their own living rooms?! What better way to help awaken them to governmental intrusions into their private lives than to see it in their own homes?

Congressman Ron Paul is the man with the strength to stay the course until
Enemies, Foreign and Domestic, are put in their rightful place!

There isn't a better man for the job. He has an impeccable voting record. He is right on, on Freedom and Sovereignty issues.

In a time of universal deceit, Congressman Paul dares to commit the
revolutionary act of telling the truth. How refreshing!

But now the work begins.

Ron Paul needs not just our affirmative nod, he needs our time, energy, financial contributions, and willingness to see him win. He needs us to use our precious accrued vacation time to go to New Hampshire to knock on doors, pass out AFTF DVDs, to be as dedicated to helping him win as he is to running the Race. His campaign must be organized District by District.

The entire AFTF Network must focus on helping Ron Paul. You have already
awakened a lot of Americans to the dangers we face.

NOW, help me, won't you, as I do everything within my means to promote the only HONEST, Constitutional American in the 2008 Presidential race.

With the right Candidate and a passionate grassroots effort, it is possible to take over a weakened Republican Party. I've told you many times of how we overtook the Republican Party in my Gubernatorial race in Nevada. I KNOW it can be done!

Well, HERE is that Candidate!

NOW IS THE TIME to join with me and support Ron Paul.

I've seen you at work. You can do this. WE can do this!

I Am Most Sincerely Yours in Freedom,

Aaron Russo

We have lived as if in a trance.
We have lived as people in fear.
And now—our rights and our freedoms in
peril—we slowly awaken to learn that we have been afraid of the wrong
thing.
Therefore, tonight have we truly become
the inheritors of our American legacy.
For, on this first full day that the
Military Commissions Act is in force, we now face what our ancestors
faced, at other times of exaggerated crisis and melodramatic
fear-mongering:
A government more dangerous to our
liberty, than is the enemy it claims to protect us from.
We have been here before—and we have been
here before, led here by men better and wiser and nobler than George W.
Bush.
We have been here when President John
Adams insisted that the Alien and Sedition Acts were necessary to save
American lives, only to watch him use those acts to jail newspaper
editors.
American newspaper editors, in American
jails, for things they wrote about America.
We have been here when President Woodrow
Wilson insisted that the Espionage Act was necessary to save American
lives, only to watch him use that Act to prosecute 2,000 Americans,
especially those he disparaged as “Hyphenated Americans,” most of whom
were guilty only of advocating peace in a time of war.
American public speakers, in American
jails, for things they said about America.
And we have been here when President
Franklin D. Roosevelt insisted that Executive Order 9066 was necessary
to save American lives, only to watch him use that order to imprison
and pauperize 110,000 Americans while his man in charge, General
DeWitt, told Congress: “It makes no difference whether he is an
American citizen—he is still a Japanese.”
American citizens, in American camps, for
something they neither wrote nor said nor did, but for the choices they
or their ancestors had made about coming to America.
Each of these actions was undertaken for
the most vital, the most urgent, the most inescapable of reasons.
And each was a betrayal of that for which
the president who advocated them claimed to be fighting.
Adams and his party were swept from
office, and the Alien and Sedition Acts erased.
Many of the very people Wilson silenced
survived him, and one of them even ran to succeed him, and got 900,000
votes, though his presidential campaign was conducted entirely from his
jail cell.
And Roosevelt’s internment of the Japanese
was not merely the worst blight on his record, but it would necessitate
a formal apology from the government of the United States to the
citizens of the United States whose lives it ruined.
The most vital, the most urgent, the most
inescapable of reasons.
In times of fright, we have been only
human.
We have let Roosevelt’s “fear of fear
itself” overtake us.
We have listened to the little voice
inside that has said, “the wolf is at the door; this will be temporary;
this will be precise; this too shall pass.”
We have accepted that the only way to stop
the terrorists is to let the government become just a little bit like
the terrorists.
Just the way we once accepted that the
only way to stop the Soviets was to let the government become just a
little bit like the Soviets.
Or substitute the Japanese.
Or the Germans.
Or the Socialists.
Or the Anarchists.
Or the Immigrants.
Or the British.
Or the Aliens.
The most vital, the most urgent, the most
inescapable of reasons.
And, always, always wrong.
“With the distance of history, the
questions will be narrowed and few: Did this generation of Americans
take the threat seriously, and did we do what it takes to defeat that
threat?”
Wise words.
And ironic ones, Mr. Bush.
Your own, of course, yesterday, in signing

"When even one American -- who has done nothing wrong -- is forced by
fear to shut his mind and close his mouth, then all Americans are in
peril."

- Harry S. Truman

I was introduced to Narco News by journalist Bill Conroy and asked to
become a copublisher. I accepted the invitation even though I was
still employed by the Legacy US Customs Service, and I introduced
myself to my fellow Narco News copublishers.

I retired from federal law enforcement service on October 3, 2006.
Since I no longer work for "Uncle Sam," I guess now it is time to
formally introduce myself to you. I have always strived to be a
consummate no-nonsense law enforcement and security management
expert. I also have a long career as theologian and minister, while
also being a driving force in numerous coalitions crossing
ideological, cultural and religious boundaries. I am the founder and
former chairman of the Federal Hispanic Law Enforcement Officers
Association and the founder and a chaplain of the International Order
of St. Luke the Physician -Yuma Hispanic Section. For over 27 years I
served with distinction as a supervisory criminal investigator and as
a journeyman criminal investigator with federal law enforcement
agencies, such as the US Department of Homeland Security's Bureau of
Immigration Customs Enforcement, US Customs Service's Offices of
Investigations and Internal Affairs, US Drug Enforcement
Administration, US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms, US
Immigration Naturalization Service, and US Defense Investigative
Service. I can tell you that thanks to Narco News, positive changes
have taken place at certain government agencies such as the US
Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

I know that millions of people enjoy reading the "Real Thing" in
Narco News. This media source has no hidden political agendas, but
wishes only to tell the truth and to expose what needs to be exposed.
However, for the most part business continues as usual in Washington
unless something big happens such as a terrorist attack or a natural
disaster, and even then, more time is spent "finger-pointing" than
addressing the real problem. We still have a lot of work to do.

Narco News and the Narcosphere, in addition to reporting the truth
and the facts, also fight for the rights of people and journalists
across Latin America to live and report freely, without fear of
reprisals. As a nonprofit, nonpartisan newspaper, Narco News relies

I
ngri Cassel writes

We need to keep a real close eye on this issue. If this goes
aheadwe absolutely cannot eat these
foods. Fluoride is an extreme poisonthat has been foisted on
us by the Government and vested interests in spite of the thousands of
investigations that have proved it to be very deleterious to
health.
Fluoride's affects at the limits of 4ppm which is the
allowable limit in drinking water have been well documented. What is
proposed as a fumigator for foods is
70ppm. Do the math

http://www.fluoridealert.org/

The Issue at hand...
In a
November 28, 2005 letter to Dow AgroSciences, Maureen Serafini,
Director, NYS Bureau of Pesticides, approved sulfuryl fluoride
(ProFume) fumigant on all processed foods and a large number of raw
food commodities in New York. These are
the foods most Americans eat.
In
response, FAN's Pesticide Project Director, Ellen Connett, requested
Director Serafini to revoke this approval.

Because
sulfuryl fluoride breaks down to fluoride in the human body, fluoride
is the endpoint of toxicological concern. In
their approval, EPA approved the highest levels of fluoride residues in
food in US history. Fluoride is persistent and
bio-accumulates in the human body.
Inhalation
tests with all animal species exposed to sulfuryl fluoride revealed
severe harm to the brain. Of particular concern was the finding of
holes (vacuolation) in the white matter of the brain, and an abnormal
softening (malacia) and cell death (necrosis) of brain tissue.

Here are some scientific studies done as to how
flouride affects the brain:
http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/brain/

Flouride and the Pineal Gland
http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/pineal/

And it is no accident
that the addition of flourides is being advocated at this
time--Flouride is part of the 'dumming down' process:
http://www.mdvventures.com/flouride.htm

Fluorides have been used to modify
behavior and mood of human beings.
It is a little known fact that fluoride
compounds were added to the drinking water of prisoners to keep them
docile and inhibit questioning of authority, both in Nazi prison camps
in World War II and in the Soviet gulags in Siberia.
Fluorides are medically categorized as protoplasmic poisons, which is
why they are used to kill rodents.
"Fluoridation is the greatest case of
scientific fraud of this century"
Robert Carlton, Ph. D., former U. S.
EPA scientist on "Marketplace" Canadian Broadcast Company, Nov. 24, 1992.
"Regarding fluoridation, the EPA should
act immediately to protect the public, not just on the cancer data, but
on the evidence of bone fractures, arthritis, mutagenicity and other
effects"
William Marcus, Ph. D., senior EPA
toxicologist, Covert Action, Fall 1992, p. 66

Fluoride Stupidity And Population Control

Preferred Network | March 24 2005

"The real reason behind water fluoridation is not to benefit
children's teeth. If this were the real reason there are many ways in
which it could be done that are much easier, cheaper, and far more
effective. The real purpose behind water fluoridation is to reduce the
resistance of the masses to domination and control and loss of liberty.
"When the Nazis under Hitler decided to go into Poland, both
the German General Staff and the Russian General Staff exchanged
scientific and military ideas, plans, and personnel, and the scheme of
mass control through water medication was seized upon by the Russian
Communists because it fitted ideally into their plan to communize the
world. ...
"I was told of this entire scheme by a German chemist who was
an official of the great IG Farben chemical industries and was also
prominent in the Nazi movement at the time. I say this with all the
earnestness and sincerity of a scientist who has spent nearly 20 years'
research into the chemistry, biochemistry, physiology and pathology of
fluorine--any person who drinks artificially fluorinated water for a
period of one year or more will never again be the same person mentally
or physically." - CHARLES E. PERKINS,
Chemist, 2 October 1954.

US to launch RFID passports on Monday

Despite the various
privacy
concerns that have been repeatedly raised in regards to e-passports,
the US is going ahead with their
plans
to launch the system this Monday. Not all newly-issued passports will
be RFID-enabled, since mass production has been held up by the ongoing
legal dispute over the technology. The first passports to be issued
will be those produced during the pilot run of the project, but the
full roll-out should be completed in about a year. Including the extra
$12 security surcharge slapped onto passports last year, the new and
"improved" models will cost $97, the same as they do currently. If
you're overly concerned about the security implications or potential
apocalypse causation, you might want to nab a passport now, since
traditional passports will be valid until their listed expiration date.
We'll manage like usual: hills, tin-foil, condensed milk, etc.

MI6 Are The Lords Of
The Global Drug Trade

Commentary By James Casbolt Former MI6 Agent
c. 2006 James Casbolt

http://z13.invisionfree.com/THE_UNHIVED_MIND/index.php?s=96b2c8027d164e9d25b4bbd6b6a52973showtopic=9854view=getnewpost

5-20-6

It may be a revelation to many people that the global drug trade is
controlled and run by the intelligence agencies. In this global drug
trade British intelligence reigns supreme.

As intelligence insiders know MI5 and MI6 control many of the other
intelligence agencies in the world (CIA, MOSSAD etc) in a vast web of
intrigue and corruption that has its global power base in the city of
London, the square mile.

My name is James Casbolt and I worked for MI6 in 'black ops' cocaine
trafficking with the IRA and MOSSAD in London and Brighton between 1995
and 1999. My father Peter Casbolt was also MI6 and worked with the CIA
and mafia in Rome, trafficking cocaine into Britain.

My experience was that the distinctions of all these groups became
blurred until in the end we were all one international group working
together for the same goals. We were puppets who had our strings pulled
by global puppet masters based in the city of London.

Most levels of the intelligence agencies are not loyal to the people of
the country they are based in and see themselves as 'super national'.
It had been proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that the CIA has been
bringing in most of the drugs into America for the last fifty years
(see ex LAPD officer Michael Rupert's 'From the wilderness' website for
proof).

The CIA operates under orders from British intelligence and was created
by British intelligence in 1947. The CIA today is still loyal to the
international bankers based in the city of London and the global elite
aristocratic families like the Rothchilds and the Windsor's.

Since it was first started, MI6 has always brought drugs into Britain.
They do not bring 'some' of the drugs into Britain but I would estimate
MI6 bring in around ninety percent of the drugs in. They do this by
pulling the strings of many organised crime and terrorist groups and
these groups like the IRA are full of MI6 agents.

MI6 bring in heroin from the middle east, cocaine from south America
and cannabis from morocco as well as other places. British intelligence
also designed and created the drug LSD in the 1950's through places
like the Tavistock Institute in London. By the 1960's MI5, MI6 and the
CIA were using LSD as a weapon against the angry protestors of the
sixties and turned them into 'flower children' who were too tripped out
to organise a revolution.

Dr Timothy Leary the LSD guru of the sixties was a CIA puppet. Funds
and drugs for Leary's research came from the CIA and Leary says that
Cord Meyer, the CIA agent in charge of funding the sixties LSD counter
culture has"helped me to understand my political cultural role more
clearly".

In 1998, I was sent 3000 LSD doses on blotting paper by MI5 with
pictures of the European union flag on them. The MI5 man who sent them
told my father this was a government 'signature' and this LSD was
called 'Europa'.

This global drugs trade controlled by British intelligence is worth at
least £500 billion a year. This is more than the global oil trade and
the economy in Britain and America is totally dependent on this drug
money.

Mafia crime boss John Gotti exposed the situation when asked in court
if he was involved in drug trafficking. He replied"No we can't compete
with the government". I believe this was only a half truth because the
mafia and the CIA are the same group at the upper levels.

In Britain, the MI6 drug money is laundered through the Bank of
England, Barclays Bank and other household name companies. The drug
money is passed from account to account until its origins are lost in a
huge web of transactions. The drug money comes out 'cleaner' but not
totally clean.

Diamonds are then bought with this money from the corrupt diamond
business families like the Oppenheimers. These diamonds are then sold
and the drug money is clean. MI6 and the CIA are also responsible for
the crack cocaine epidemic in Britain and America.

In 1978, MI6 and the CIA were in south America researching the effects
of the natives smoking 'basuco' cocaine paste. This has the same effect
as crack cocaine. They saw that the strength and addiction potential
was far greater than ordinary cocaine and created crack cocaine from
the basuco formula. MI6 and the CIA then flooded Britain and

RAINBOWS END

Ever since they were gunned down by cops on their spread in southwest
Michigan more than four years ago, News Hits has been interested in
the story of star-crossed hippies Rollie Rohm and Tom Crosslin.

When the standoff at the Rainbow Farm campground and concert venue in
Kalamazoo County began, the news media were out in force to chronicle
the fate of these two gun-toting pro-marijuana activists who'd dug in
to resist attempts to have their place seized by authorities. And
when bullets from snipers killed the pair around Labor Day weekend in
2001, it looked like the whole thing would become a big issue, a
story with echoes of Ruby Ridge and Waco. Then 9/11 happened, and the
Rainbow Farm dropped off the media radar.

But Dean Kuipers could not let go of the story. The deputy editor of
the alternative newspaper Los Angeles City Beat, Kuipers had grown up
in that part of Michigan. And from the moment he read about the
shootings in the Kalamazoo Gazette, which he continued to have
delivered to him in Los Angeles, he had a feeling that something
about the story "stunk."

So, like any good reporter, he followed his nose. The results of his
investigation will be showing up soon in a bookstore near you. In
Burning Rainbow Farm (set to be released by Bloomsbury Publishing
this summer), Kuipers offers a detailed account of events leading up
to the siege at the campground, and a look into the lives of the two
men who died there. We missed Kuipers when he was in Ann Arbor
recently to promote the book at the annual Hash Bash, but caught up
with him by phone last week.

Rainbow Farms wasn't around when Kuipers, 42, was a kid. But he knew
the area and the kind of people who lived there.

"This is like a regular Michigan rural neighborhood," he says.
"That's why I wanted to write about it. I grew up out there."

What he found in the two central characters were men that didn't fit
any easy stereotype. They were a gay couple whose Rainbow Farm, home
of the Roach Roast festival, became a focal point for Michigan's
pot-legalization movement. But they were also pro-militia and hunters
with a libertarian streak.

Kuipers says he didn't approach the story with any agenda. Do enough
good reporting, he figured, and the story would eventually sort
itself out. And that's what happened.

What he found were two men who paid the ultimate price in defense of
their beliefs. The war on drugs has given law enforcement "an
incredibly heavy tool bag," observes Kuipers, and there are some
people willing to risk everything -- their jobs, property, money,
even their lives -- in an attempt to oppose that power.

"This ends up being a story about the demonization of pot culture,"
Kuipers says.

The final chapter of this sad saga has yet to be written. Rohm's
family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in a civil case that's
still moving through the federal court system.

  http://news.com.com/2061-10789_3-6066688.html

Its official: The Bush administration formally said Friday that it will
try
to halt a lawsuit that accuses ATT of helping the National
Security Agency spy on Americans illegally.

In an 8-page document (PDF) filed with a federal court in the northern
district of California, the U.S. Justice Department said it will
intervene
in the lawsuit and try to have it tossed out of court.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital rights group based in San

Francisco, filed the class action lawsuit against the federal
government in
January. The suit claims ATT's alleged cooperation violates free
speech and
privacy rights found in the U.S. Constitution and also contravenes
federal
wiretapping law, which prohibits electronic surveillance "except as
authorized by statute."

A Los Angeles Times article dated Dec. 26 quoted an unnamed source as
saying
the NSA has a "direct hookup" into an ATT database that stores
information
about all domestic phone calls, including how long they lasted. In
addition,
EFF said earlier this month that it has unearthed possibly-confidential

documents describing a "dragnet" scheme in use by ATT. (ATT,
which has
repeatedly declined to comment, has asked that the documents be
returned.)

The Justice Department said in its filing that the "United States
intends to
assert the military and state secrets privilege" and have the case
dismissed.

The state secrets privilege, outlined by the Supreme Court in a 1953
case,
permits the government to derail a lawsuit that might otherwise lead to
the
disclosure of military secrets.

In 1998, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals elaborated on the state
secret
privilege in a case where former workers at the Air Force's classified
Groom
Lake, Nev., facility alleged hazardous waste violations. When requested
by
the workers' lawyers to turn over information, the Air Force refused.

The 9th Circuit upheld a summary judgment on behalf of the Air Force,
saying
that once the state secrets "privilege is properly invoked and the
court is
satisfied as to the danger of divulging state secrets, the privilege is

absolute" and the case will generally be dismissed.

That "absolute privilege" case is still good law and is binding on U.S.

District Judge Vaughn Walker, who will hear EFF's case.

The Bush administration did carefully note, however, that a mere
invocation
of the state secret privilege should not be viewed as confirmation that
ATT
did anything untoward, saying even the non-existence of the activity is
a
state secret. "The fact that the United States will assert the state
secrets
privilege should not be construed as a confirmation or denial of any of

plaintiffs' allegations, either about ATT or the alleged
surveillance
activities," the brief said.

Also this week, a Republican senator threatened to pull funding on the
surveillance program unless the Bush administration divulges more
details to Congress.

San Francisco Chronicle
U.S. moves to quash privacy suit against ATT

Bob Egelko, Chronicle Staff Writer

Saturday, April 29, 2006

The Bush administration said Friday that it will ask a federal judge to

dismiss a privacy rights group's lawsuit against ATT over the
company's reported role in a government surveillance program, because
the case might expose state secrets.

In a filing in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Justice Department

lawyers said the government will assert the "military and state secrets

privilege ... to protect against the unauthorized disclosure in
litigation
of information that may harm national security.''

The information is so sensitive that the entire subject matter of the
case
is a state secret, government lawyers said.

The suit was filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation in January on
behalf of ATT customers. It accuses the telecommunications company
of
giving the National Security Agency access to its voice and data
network and
its databases of records of customers' calls and e-mails to help the
agency's recently disclosed surveillance program.

President Bush has said that shortly after the terrorist attacks of
Sept.
11, 2001, he authorized the agency to intercept phone calls and

[cia-drugs] Eastman, Supreme Law Firm, rcnewschat and ALL others....

2006-04-19 Thread Max Robinson

The reason I am sending this out is because I have just located a new
trojan in my computer called Win32.Email.Worm.Anker.q [
http://www.viruslist.com/en/viruses/encyclopedia?virusid=93361 ] which I
do not believe has infected anyone from my computer because I do not use
Outlook nor the address book. The problem is I am very uncomfortable
with this sitting here and currently there is no description available
for this program and so far I haven't been able to locate a removal
tool or information.

All of you can send email without attachments as I have received them
from you in the past. Since March 28th, 1561 out of the 3417 emails on
my machine (no spam) contained attachments and I deleted them all, many
of the emails I received just today had attachments. I deleted them all
also leaving me only four emails since midnight. Do the math, I receive
an average of 162 emails a day and most of your emails from today just
got deleted and the information they contained is important to me and
the individuals/groups that I forward them on to. Please set your email
program to forward INLINE!!!

I must admit that I have also been guilty of sending attachments, but
only until I found the setting in my Thunderbird (Mozilla) email program
to forward all messages INLINE.

Thanks,

My bad! Oh, do I feel like a dumb ass. How embarrassing in front of all
my Internet friends. I just went over my settings in AVG and found that
the attachments on the emails I deleted were probably ALL GENERATED BY
AVG telling me that they are certified virus free! So please resend all
the emails I deleted this morning. (Just kidding)

I DO still have that "Win32.Email.Worm.Anker.q" which came from some
damn place.

The
Future of Food
Video
By Deborah Koons - Apr 10 2006 (130 reads)

There is a revolution happening in the farm fields and on the dinner
tables of America — a revolution that is ... transforming the very
nature of the food we eat. THE
FUTURE OF FOOD offers an in-depth investigation into the disturbing
truth behind the unlabeled, patented, genetically engineered foods that
have quietly filled U.S. grocery store shelves for the past decade.

>From the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada to the fields of Oaxaca,
Mexico, this film  gives a voice to farmers whose lives and livelihoods
have been negatively impacted by this new technology. The health
implications, government policies and push towards globalization are
all part of the reason why many people are alarmed by the introduction
of genetically altered crops into our food supply.

Shot on location in the U.S., Canada and Mexico, THE FUTURE OF FOOD examines the
complex web of market and political forces that are changing what we
eat as huge multinational corporations seek to control the world's food
system. The film also explores alternatives to large-scale industrial
agriculture, placing organic and sustainable agriculture as real
solutions to the farm crisis today.

Four military recruiters hastily fled a job
fair Tuesday morning at UC Santa Cruz after a raucous crowd of student
protesters blocked an entrance to the building where the Army and
National Guard had set up information tables.
Members of Students Against War, who
organized the counter-recruiting protest, loudly chanted "Don't come
back. Don't come back" as the recruiters left the hilltop campus,
escorted by several university police officers.
"The situation had degraded to the point
where there was a possibility of injury to either a student or law
enforcement officer. We certainly didn't want that to happen,'' said
Capt. Will Griffin, one of the Army recruiters.
University officials had been aware for weeks
that Students Against War planned a protest to prevent military
personnel from participating in the school's biannual job fair held for
students.
The student organization has become a bit of
a cause celebre of the national anti-war movement ever since it was
discovered that the group's protest of the same job fair last April
landed it in a Pentagon surveillance file, which listed the protest as
a "credible threat" to military facilities or personnel.
Universities that receive federal funds are
required to allow military recruiters on campus. But campus officials
had worried that Tuesday's protest would get out of hand as it had last
April, when Students Against War protesters surrounded the table where
military personnel sat, and hundreds of other demonstrators engaged in
an angry protest outside. Some of the recruiters reported that their
tires had been slashed and one employee at the career center was
injured.
David Kliger, campus provost and executive
vice chancellor, said the school was most concerned Tuesday about
safety issues, but also wanted to preserve access to the recruiters for
students who wanted to speak with them, while still allowing protesting
students their right to free speech.
Kliger said officials had tried to engage the
anti-war student group in discussions in the weeks leading up to the
fair. But when talks broke down, officials began privately hoping for
rain and brought in extra police.
The rain probably accounted for a decidedly
smaller turnout -- about 100 students compared with about 300 a year
earlier.
Still, the Army's Griffin said he sensed that
some of the students were "looking for action" and decided to pack up
their table before things got out of hand and someone got injured.
Students Against War members said they were
pleased that their counter-recruiting effort forced the military
personnel off campus, at least for the time being.
"We're saying it's not OK to recruit on high
school campuses, it's not OK to recruit on university campuses,'' Marla
Zubel, a UC Santa Cruz senior and member of Students Against War, said.
"In order to stop the war, you have to make it more difficult to wage
war."
But at least one student, Cody James, said he
was disappointed that he couldn't get in to speak with the military
personnel.
"It's frustrating,'' said James, a senior
majoring in politics. "I'm not a Republican. I'm not a conservative. I
don't support the war. It's about finding a career."

[cia-drugs] New low! Feds want gold from teeth, no BS!

2006-04-07 Thread Max Robinson

Feds Want to Seize Suspects' Grillz
This story ran on nwitimes.com on Friday,
April 7, 2006 10:47 AM CDT

TACOMA,
Wash. - Talk about taking a bite out of crime _ government lawyers
tried to remove and confiscate the gold dental work known as grillz
from the mouths of two men facing drug charges.

"I've been doing
this for over 30 years and I have never heard of anything like this,"
said Richard J. Troberman, a forfeiture specialist and past president
of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. "It sounds
like Nazi Germany when they were removing the gold teeth from the
bodies, but at least then they waited until they were dead."
According
to documents and lawyers involved in the case in U.S. District Court,
Flenard T. Neal Jr. and Donald Jamar Lewis, charged with several drug
and weapon violations, were taken on Tuesday from the Federal Detention
Center to the U.S. marshal's office, where they were told the
government had a warrant to seize the grills.

Before being put
into a vehicle to be taken to a dentist in Seattle, they called their
lawyers, who were able to halt the seizure, said Miriam Schwartz,
Neal's public defender. A permanent stay of the seizure order was
signed Tuesday by U.S. Magistrate J. Kelley Arnold, court documents
show.

Grills, popularized by rappers such as Nelly, are
customized tooth caps made of precious metals and jewels which can cost
thousands of dollars for a full set. Some can be snapped onto the teeth
like an orthodontic retainer, and others are permanently bonded to the
teeth.

Neal and Lewis have permanently bonded grills, their lawyers said,
declining to provide more description.

Government
lawyers who asked a federal judge on March 29 to order confiscation of
the grills said they did not know the caps had been bonded to the drug
defendants' teeth.

"Asset forfeiture is a fairly routine
procedure, and our attorneys were under the impression that these
snapped out like a retainer," said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the
U.S. attorney's office in Seattle.

Once the government
understood that removal of the grills could damage the defendants'
teeth, they abandoned the seizure attempt, she said.

Schwartz and Zenon Peter Olbertz, Lewis' lawyer, criticized what they
said was a clandestine attempt to have the grills removed.

"It's
shocking that this kind of action by the federal government could be
sought and accomplished in secret, without anyone being notified," said
Schwartz. "It reminds me of the secret detentions" in terrorist cases.

Seizure
warrants are typically sealed to prevent defendants from trying to move
or hide valuables and evidence, Langlie and court clerks said. They
become public with the filing of a return that shows what has been
seized.

[cia-drugs] RFID tracks prescription usage WITHOUT patient knowledge since 2004!

World's First Smart RFID Medication Bottle
Wednesday, March 10 2004 @ 11:34 AM CST
Contributed by: ByteEnable
OTTAWA
-- Information Mediary Corporation (IMC) is proud to announce the
expansion of its revolutionary Med-ic ECM (Electronic Compliance
Monitor) lineup to include eCAP, a smart RFID closure for medication
bottles and vials (www.eCAP.biz).
IMC and Remind Cap
International Ltd. (RCIL), both established leaders in medication
compliance technology, have teamed to provide a dynamic, reliable and
cost-effective packaging solution. Plastic liner components are
supplied by Owens Illinois Prescription Products Inc. and have passed
Federal child safety standards.

IMC and Remind Cap International Ltd. (RCIL), both established
leaders in medication compliance technology, have teamed to provide a
dynamic, reliable and cost-effective packaging solution. Plastic liner
components are supplied by Owens Illinois Prescription Products Inc.
and have passed Federal child safety standards.

Med-ic eCAP will launch at Interphex 2004 in New York City, March
16- 18, 2004.

Med-ic eCAP is a programmable RFID
reminder and monitoring
solution that tracks medication usage without active patient input. It
consists of IMC's Med-ic RFID "smart" sensor embedded in a RCIL's
bottle closure. Med- ic eCAP can easily be programmed to remind the
patient when the next dose is due and records the time the patient
opens the bottle to remove the tablet or capsule, thereby logging the
patient's medication compliance. The recorded data are then retrieved
with IMC's CertiScan reader for review by the physician, researcher
or pharmacist.
(OR HOMELAND SECURITY. Madd Maxx)

The Med-ic eCAP solution is targeting two critical areas: 1)
accurate, cost effective monitoring of patient adherence in clinical
pharmacy and trials, and 2) securing the pharmaceutical supply chain,
as dictated by recent FDA requirements.

"With an estimated 87 percent of patients dropping out of lifelong
therapy, such as with lipid-lowering agents, non-compliance is a
critical health issue affecting our aging population," according to IMC
President Allan Wilson MD, Ph.D.

The Med-ic eCAP is available immediately. It can be used in
clinical trials where precise dosing data are critical, and also offers
a wonderful co- branding opportunity for pharmaceutical manufacturers
and pharmacy chains.

A complete supply chain solution for drug manufacturers and
pharmacies, to be marketed as eCAP/Secure, is available for pilot
testing and will be released later this year.

IMC will demonstrate this and other exciting technologies at
INTERPHEX 2004 (Booth 282), March 16-18 at the Jacob K. Javits Center
in New York, NY.

Information Mediary Corporation (IMC), (www.informationmediary.com)
is dedicated to advancing convergence of developments in the fields of
medicine, logistics, high-technology, pharmacology, wireless,
e-business and anthroponomy. A blister packaging solution, for Med-ic
ECM (www.med- ic.biz) products is available through Shorewood
Packaging, a business of International Paper (NYSE:IP)
in the USA. All other Med-ic ECM products are available worldwide
through Intelligent Devices Inc. (IDI), (www.ecmdevices.com), a wholly
owned subsidiary of IMC. Med-ic, ECM, eCAP, eCAP/Secure and CertiScan
are trademarks of IMC and IDI. Remind Cap is a registered trademark of

  Pentagon devising scenarios for martial
law in US

  By Patrick Martin

According to a report published Monday by the Washington Post, the
Pentagon has developed its first ever war plans for operations within
the continental United States, in which terrorist attacks would be used
as the justification for imposing martial law on cities, regions or the
entire country.

The front-page article cites sources working at the headquarters of the
militarys Northern Command (Northcom), located in Colorado Springs,
Colorado. The plans themselves are classified, but officers who
drafted the plans gave details to Post reporter Bradley Graham, who
was recently given a tour of Northcom headquarters at Peterson Air
Force Base. The article thus appears to be a deliberate leak conducted
for the purpose of accustoming the American population to the prospect
of military rule.

According to Graham, the new plans provide for what several senior
officers acknowledged is the likelihood that the military will have to
take charge in some situations, especially when dealing with
mass-casualty attacks that could quickly overwhelm civilian resources.

The Post account declares, The war plans represent a historic shift
for the Pentagon, which has been reluctant to become involved in
domestic operations and is legally constrained from engaging in law
enforcement.

A total of 15 potential crisis scenarios are outlined, ranging from
low-end, which Graham describes as relatively modest crowd-control
missions, to high-end, after as many as three simultaneous
catastrophic mass-casualty events, such as a nuclear, biological or
chemical weapons attack.

In each case, the military would deploy a quick-reaction force of as
many as 3,000 troops per attacki.e., 9,000 total in the worst-case
scenario. More troops could be made available as needed.

The Post quotes a statement by Admiral Timothy J. Keating, head of
Northcom: In my estimation, [in the event of] a biological, a chemical
or nuclear attack in any of the 50 states, the Department of Defense is
best positionedof the various eight federal agencies that would be
involvedto take the lead.

The newspaper describes an unresolved debate among the military
planners on how to integrate the new domestic mission with ongoing US
deployments in Iraq, Afghanistan and other foreign conflicts. One major
document of over 1,000 pages, designated CONPLAN 2002, provides a
general overview of air, sea and land operations in both a post-attack
situation and for prevention and deterrence actions aimed at
intercepting threats before they reach the United States. A second
document, CONPLAN 0500, details the 15 scenarios and the actions
associated with them.

The Post reports: CONPLAN 2002 has passed a review by the Pentagons
Joint Staff and is due to go soon to Defense Secretary Donald H.
Rumsfeld and top aides for further study and approval, the officers
said. CONPLAN 0500 is still undergoing final drafting at Northcom
headquarters.

While Northcom was established only in October 2002, its headquarters
staff of 640 is already larger than that of the Southern Command, which
overseas US military operations throughout Latin America and the
Caribbean.

About 1,400 National Guard troops have been formed into a dozen
regional response units, while smaller quick-reaction forces have been
set up in each of the 50 states. Northcom also has the power to
mobilize four active-duty Army battalions, as well as Navy and Coast
Guard ships and air defense fighter jets.

Atta Intelligence Omitted From Report

By KIMBERLY HEFLING, Associated Press Writer1 hour, 16 minutes ago
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050812/ap_on_go_co/sept_11_hijackers_22printer=1;_ylt=Av97T4CDpYtFFK9Ks1PAbEOMwfIE;_ylu=X3oDMTA3MXN1bHE0BHNlYwN0bWE-

The Sept. 11 commission knew military intelligence officials had
identified lead hijacker Mohamed Atta as a member of al-Qaida who might
be part of U.S.-based terror cell more than a year before the terror
attacks but decided not to include that in its final report, a
spokesman acknowledged Thursday.
Al Felzenberg, spokesman for the commission's follow-up project
called the 9/11 Public Discourse Project, had said earlier this week
that the panel was unaware of intelligence specifically naming Atta.
But he said subsequent information provided Wednesday confirmed that
the commission had been aware of the intelligence.
The information did not make it into the final report because it was
not consistent with what the commission knew about Atta's whereabouts
before the attacks, Felzenberg said.
The intelligence about Atta recently was disclosed by Rep. Curt
Weldon (news, bio, voting record), vice chairman of the House Armed
Services and Homeland Security committees. The Pennsylvania Republican
has expressed anger that the intelligence never was forwarded by the
military establishment to the FBI.
The discourse project, Pentagon and at least two congressional
committees are looking into the issue. If found accurate, the
intelligence would change the timeline for when government officials
first became aware of Atta's links to al-Qaida.
According to Weldon, a classified military intelligence unit called
"Able Danger" identified Atta and three other hijackers in 1999 as
potential members of a terrorist cell in New York City. Weldon said
Pentagon lawyers rejected the unit's recommendation that the
information be turned over to the FBI in 2000.
According to Pentagon documents, the information was not shared
because of concerns about pursuing information on "U.S. persons," a
legal term that includes U.S. citizens as well as foreigners legally
admitted to the country.
Felzenberg said an unidentified person working with Weldon came
forward Wednesday and described a meeting 10 days before the panel's
report was issued last July. During it, a military official urged
commission staffers to include a reference to the intelligence on Atta
in the final report.
Felzenberg said checks were made and the details of the July 12,
2004, meeting were confirmed. Previous to that, Felzenberg said it was
believed commission staffers knew about Able Danger from a meeting with
military officials in Afghanistan during which no mention was made of
Atta or the other three hijackers.
Staff members now are searching documents in the National Archives
to look for notes from the meeting in Afghanistan and any other
possible references to Atta and Able Danger, Felzenberg said.
Felzenberg sought to minimize the significance of the new
information.
"Even if it were valid, it would've joined the lists of dozens of
other instances where information was not shared," Felzenberg said.
"There was a major problem with intelligence sharing."
Weldon on Wednesday wrote to Thomas Kean, chairman of the 9/11
commission, and Lee Hamilton, the vice chairman, asking for information
to be sought that would look at why the information was not passed on
by Pentagon lawyers to the FBI.
His letter also asks the commissioners to find out why the panel's
staff members did not pass the information about Able Danger onto
commission members and provide full documentation.
Kansas Sen. Pat Roberts (news, bio, voting record), chairman of the
Senate Intelligence Committee, and his House counterpart, Michigan Rep.
Peter Hoekstra (news, bio, voting record), are looking into the issue.

  Deep Background

  In Washington it is hardly
a secret that the same people in and around the administration who
brought you Iraq are preparing to do the same for Iran. The
Pentagon, acting under instructions from Vice President Dick Cheneys
office, has tasked the United States Strategic Command (STRATCOM) with
drawing up a contingency plan to be employed in response to another
9/11-type terrorist attack on the United States. The plan includes a
large-scale air assault on Iran employing both conventional and
tactical nuclear weapons. Within Iran there are more than 450 major
strategic targets, including numerous suspected nuclear-weapons-program
development sites. Many of the targets are hardened or are deep
underground and could not be taken out by conventional weapons, hence
the nuclear option. As in the case of Iraq, the response is not
conditional on Iran actually being involved in the act of terrorism
directed against the United States. Several senior Air Force officers
involved in the planning are reportedly appalled at the implications of
what they are doingthat Iran is being set up for an unprovoked nuclear
attackbut no one is prepared to damage his career by posing any
objections.
  * * *
  There is increasing evidence that
the Iraqi police forces, now under Shiite control, are carrying out
systematic revenge killings against Sunnis in Baghdad. The bodies
now showing up at the morgue have obvious signs of handcuffing and
blindfolding and evidence of being tortured before death. U.S. sources
indicate that the suspicious killings have reached the rate of almost
700 per month. The police are supervised by the Shiite-run Ministry of
Interior, which claims that the killings are being carried out by
insurgents wearing stolen police uniforms. But American intelligence
sources disagree, noting that many of the killers appear to be actual
policemen carrying the expensive standard-issue Glock automatics and
driving official Toyota Land Cruisers.

Your "story," which reads more like a bad parody than the real

riddled with terrible mistakes that render it ridiculous. For example,
even
during Watergate -- and ever since -- there has been unresolved debate

whether a sitting President can in fact BE indicted while in office.
Such a

impeachment is the only remedy provided by the Founders for removal of

Tom,

That said, I hope you will take this e-mail in the spirit in
which it is

However, THAT said, I am writing to point out the many
egregious
errors of
simple fact and context in your story, "Bush and Cheney Indicted." It is
precisely the kind of unfounded, idiotic and grossly incompetent
"journalism" that causes the truth to often go unreported or even
uninvestigated by the mainstream media.

Your "story," which reads more like a bad parody than the real
thing, is
riddled with terrible mistakes that render it ridiculous. For example,
even
during Watergate -- and ever since -- there has been unresolved debate
over
whether a sitting President can in fact BE indicted while in office.
Such a
precedent would, in fact, cause fierce Constitutional debate, since
impeachment is the only remedy provided by the Founders for removal of

Third, IF Bush and Cheney were indicted, they would not then
appear
"publicly" before the grand jury. They would be arrested and taken to
jail,
pending arraignment and a bond hearing, like any other defendant.

Further, your suggestion that the grand jury had "expanded" its
investigation to include Mena, Arkansas and 9/11, along other things, is
absurd. Apparently you know very little about the function of a grand
jury
and how it is impaneled and its parameters set.

Given the fact that it is a very real possibility there WILL
be
indictments
in the White House and possibly elsewhere over the Plame affair and
related
crimes, such as obstruction, it is pathetic, in my humble opinion, that
you
would so mangle the story as to render it ludicrous. I have often heard
criticisms of you as "over the top," but in this instance you have done
more
damage to the credibility of the "independent" press than you can
imagine.
I trust that once you have realized your errors, you will
apologize.

I am considering doing a major story, and don't wish to
embarrass you. On
the other hand, I think it important that your gross irresponsibility be
publicly acknowledged, IF you fail to do yourself.

I look forward to your response.

Thanks.

According to the New
York Times, the US military is paying hundreds of thousands of dollars
to send scientists on a screenwriting course in Los Angeles, with the
aim of producing movies and television shows that portray scientists in
a flattering light.

It is being billed as a radical solution to
one of America's most vexing long-term national security problems: the
drastic decline in the number of US students pursuing science and
engineering. [Duh, matbe they shouldn't have dunbed down so many -MM]

The students at a
five-day course at the American Film Institute included experts in
rocket science, nanotechnology and genetics.
They agreed that films
such as Deep Impact, the 1998 blockbuster starring Robert Duvall and
Morgan Freeman, were the sort that should be emulated.
While the decline in
interest in science is a problem for US industry as a whole, it is
particularly acute for defence laboratories, which, because of security
concerns, cannot use immigrants to take up the slack. [They created the
problem and viola(!) - this is the solution? -MM]
The idea of teaching
screenwriting to scientists was that of Martin Gunderson, a professor
of electrical engineering at the University of Southern California and
a technical adviser to Hollywood.
"My thought was, since
scientists have to write so much, for technical journals and papers,
why not consider them as a creative source?" he told the New York
Times.

  Christians don't have a
monopoly on prophecies that tell of an ''end of times'' or an end of an
''era.'' Many tribal nations, significantly the Hopi and the
Haudenosaunee, but including many others such as Cree and Lakota in the
North and Maya, Lokono and Maquiritari in the South, have prophecies
within their spiritual traditions that describe an ''end of times,'' an
era very similar to our present times and depicting or describing
prophetic signs apparent to those who watch for such things. The signs,
according to each culture and prophecy, reveal that major changes are
afoot.

The Christian tradition is compelling in that it dictates a clear
scenario for believers that accepts, on faith, the belief in the
resurrection of Jesus' physical body from death itself. The
resurrection myth propels to an end-tale with the return of the living
Jesus. This ''Second Coming'' is to gather those who had believed in
him as the only way to salvation. These would, in fact, be resurrected
and ascended into heaven to live in eternal grace with their Lord.
Everyone else, unfortunately, ends up in hell for torture and pain
throughout eternity.

There are those who say that the Second Coming, which is also described
as ''the Rapture,'' is already guiding American foreign policy.
Certainly, it appears that the true believers within the present circle
of U.S. policy makers and of many media outlets are steering toward
connecting the worldly events in their various fields and departments
to the sign of the coming Rapture. No doubt, many fully expect to be
among those who board the celestial ship to life eternal. These
analysts, mostly but not exclusively on Christian radio and television
shows, conjecture for millions of Americans that propelling Israel as a
major super military power in the Middle East and invading and
occupying a whole country - Iraq - at the ''cradle of civilization,''
portends the acceleration of the struggle between ''good and evil,''
expectedly toward Armageddon, the final mother of all battles, after
which comes the return of the living body of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps this is so, or perhaps it overstates the Christian case; but no
one can deny we live in the age of terrific religious fervor, when more
and more of humanity attaches itself to essential or elemental stories
that are the basis of whole religions, whose dictates and strictures
can often clash and expand into dangerous areas - including that of
self-fulfilling prophecy. We are also in an era when the resources of
the Earth that have fueled and supported industrial lifestyles are
quickly diminishing. This is where some of the Indian prophecies come
in.

John Mohawk, Seneca historian and Indian Country Today columnist,
recalled not long ago the mutual visits by Hopi and Haudenosaunee
traditionalists as early as 1948, where a prophetic tradition,
popularly referred to as ''the purification,'' was exchanged. This was
way before the ecology movement, before ''New Age'' and even before the
''energy crisis.'' The elder Indian spiritualists from the Hopi of that
time not only had prophecies of meeting ''Indians from the East,'' they
actually fulfilled their own tradition and traveled east to meet and
tell the Haudenosaunee about it. The sincere exchange of views that
followed saw these and other Native peoples review and renew their
prophetic traditions and this dialogue, largely unrecorded, has gone on
for more than a half a century after the 1948 visit.

Unlike the faith-based Christian liturgy, what the Hopi tradition
warned about involved patterns of human activity on Mother Earth that
had profound and predictable consequences. They expressed, as have most
Indian traditionalists to this day, that the greed for material
possessions and technological gadgetry had the potential to severely
affect the systems of the earth and that this was in fact happening
within Western civilization, which they were witnessing, and that they
had been told they should warn all peoples about the impending changes
and disasters.

No one listened then and too few are listening now, as the ancient
Indian warning is diluted by modern economic and political concerns,
but the message does resonate with observers of our current energy
crisis who tell us of major and very difficult changes ahead for most
of humanity.

The American ''way of life'' predicated on the wanton consumption of
cheap oil is in its last throes. Quantitative reality points to severe
developing problems with industrial civilization and its dependent
systems. We are entering what a well-researched book recently excerpted
in Rolling

renew expiring provisions of the USA Patriot Act, the collection of
antiterrorism measures passed after the September 11, 2001, attacks.

The final vote was 257-171. The bill makes permanent 14 of 16 provisions
in the act set to expire next year and extends two others for another 10
years.

Passage came with the specter of terrorism fresh in lawmakers' minds
after another round of bombing incidents in London earlier in the day.
(Full story)

Parts of the Patriot Act have come under fire from civil liberties
advocates -- and some lawmakers on both sides of the political spectrum
-- who say they provide law enforcement with sweeping powers that could
be abused.

However, President Bush and GOP leaders have pushed for renewal,
insisting the act has been used judiciously and contains key tools
needed to fight the war on terror.

The Senate is considering its own reauthorization of the Patriot Act,
and the differences between the two versions would have to be hashed out
in a conference committee in coming months.

In a marathon session Thursday that stretched late into the night, the
House considered numerous amendments before moving toward a final vote.

Lawmakers narrowly turned back an effort by Rep. Rick Boucher, a
Virginia Democrat, to renew the expiring Patriot Act provisions for four
more years, rather than making them permanent. The amendment drew
spirited support from archconservative Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, a
California Republican.

Rohrabacher said he supported the Patriot Act in 2001 because of the
threat faced by the country after 9/11, but only under the belief that
once the emergency was over, "the government would again return to a
level consistent with a free society."

"We should not be required to live in peacetime under the extraordinary
laws that were passed during times of war and crisis," he said, drawing
applause from some colleagues. "Emergency powers of investigation should
not become the standard."

But Judiciary Committee Chairman James Sensenbrenner said sunset
provisions were not necessary because there was no evidence the Patriot
Act was being misused and lawmakers could provide sufficient oversight.

The Wisconsin Republican, who shepherded the bill through the House,
also said 13 of the 16 provisions up for renewal have not been
controversial, including one allowing increased communication between
the FBI and CIA.

"Why sunset legislation where there's been no actual record of abuse and
vigorous oversight?" Sensenbrenner asked.

In the end, the amendment failed, with 209 in favor and 218 opposed.

Provisions allowing federal law enforcement to obtain library and
bookstore records have been among the Patriot Act's most controversial
parts. The House's reauthorization bill does not eliminate the library
provision, but it does tighten the language outlining how it can be used.

Lawmakers overwhelmingly passed an amendment that requires the FBI
director to personally approve any bureau requests for bookstore or
library records of suspected terrorists. Sponsored by Rep. Jeff Flake,
an Arizona Republican, it passed 402-26.

In the final tally, 14 Republicans bucked Bush and the party leadership
to vote against the Patriot Act renewal. Among Democrats, 43 supported
it, but 156 voted no.

CNN's Ted Barrett contributed to this report.

Larry. I thank you. I like thew work you do and I see what you are
saying to a point. The group is growing and I want to keep it open to a
point. If you see any thing that looks bad in their posts, point it out
and we will see if they get to stay.

The bits about chemtrails and J birch sounds crazy and I don't
quite get what the scam is.

I must say that I do not see things as you do. Though I am glad to
see you say that Jews against Zionism are good people because I know
many wonderful "Jewish" people and know all people are related and the
shadow govt and Zionists pay for the work of racists, especially on the
net. I still think you are too harsh on some people like Alex J.
I see things a bit more like David Icke and feel that the
sacrifice cult in all religions is the global gulag culprit.

Please keep us informed and I wish us all luck.
