can you get the save dialog up, enter a path and filename to save to? if that is not the problem, you might want to check your unix file permissions... georg On Tuesday 16 December 2008 21:28:09 Rodolfo Medina wrote: > On Tue, Dec 16, 2008 at 8:18 PM, Raffaella Traniello > > wrote: > > On Tue, 2008-12-16 at 20:10 +, Rodolfo Medina wrote: > >> I mean, no file at all is saved on the disk. > > > > This is strange indeed. > > Is it the first time you save in Cinelerra or is it just a new > > malfunctioning? > > > > If you want we can try troubleshooting on #cinelerra on Freenode (I'm > > there now). > > It's the first time I use cinelerra, I just installed it today. > Thanks, but I don't have a chat program on my system now. > If any solution comes to your or anyone else's mind, please suggest it to > me by email. > > ciao > Rodolfo > > ___ > Cinelerra mailing list > Cinelerra@skolelinux.no > https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra -- dr. kurt georg hooss kurts film / schoepfung & wandel breite strasse 6-8, d-23552 luebeck kurts-film.de ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

Ciao, Raffaella: thanks for your help! I'll read carefully what you report, but first I want to say that my problem is that cinelerra saves and renders really and absolutely *nothing*! Ciao Rodolfo! If you are in trouble using the titler to edit the title, you might find help here: http://www.g-raffa.eu/Cinelerra/HOWTO/titles.html If you are in trouble loading a still image, have a look here: http://www.g-raffa.eu/Cinelerra/CinHOWTOs/load_media.html#How_to_load_still_images_on_the_timeline Saving shouldn't be a problem (I understand you get the file saved, but without your modifications). [CinCV] How to attach a simple text presentation to a video?
I want to insert a simple still image including some text at the beginning of a video file. The image should last, say, a few seconds. How can I achieve that? I loaded the video in cinelerra, right clicked on it and chose `attach title', edited it but then...? I did `File > Save as', but nothing remains saved at all! Any help highly appreciated. Re: [CinCV] Video effect - watermark??
Hi, John Detwiler schrieb: Could anyone please explain to me what creates the 'watermark' effect -- typically seen on broadcast TV to imbed the logo of the channel into the (usually lower right) corner of the frame? In most of the cases, it's just a transparent overlay. For a static logo, you can make a png (with alpha channel). For an animated logo, you can make a quicktime movie with the png codec. The logo can also have (half transparent) shadows. Then, choose an alpha capable colormodel in cinelerra and simple place the logo track above the rest. I rarely use cinelerra nowadays, but last time I tried it, it worked well. Burkhard ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

The background was then put transparent. Then I added another video track and put it there. The video was on lower track. With fade slider I set the opacity. To get this to work you need color format with alpha channel like RGBA The results: http://www.youtube.com/IlotulitusOy If you use video on other track it blends them and it is quite good transition sometimes. [CinCV] Video effect - watermark??
Could anyone please explain to me what creates the 'watermark' effect -- typically seen on broadcast TV to imbed the logo of the channel into the (usually lower right) corner of the frame? I've tried various combinations of 'overlay mode', but none seems to make that 'embossed' or 'shadow' effect. What's particularly slick about the commercial version is that, although fairly unobtrusive, it's equally visible on top of dark content as it is on bright. Has anyone found a Cinelerra (or, even, gimp) technique that makes this visual effect? (Even if I can't do it on moving video, it would be worth adding it to my still image before pasting into the video track.)
