[CinCV] Re: Canon HF10 (Was: AVCHD editing in cinelerra?)
Hello World. I'm seriously considering buying a Canon HF10 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0012BC054/) if I can manage to blag a trip to somewhere that sells them cheaper than the UK (pretty much any country in the world, then!) Having said that, if I buy this camera am I likely to suffer the problems described in the rest of this thread? It's a lot of cash to buy it to find out and I don't know anyone who has one that I can ask. Has anyone got one of these? Any comments, either on this subject or the HF10 in general? Hi, Oddly, since just loading everything as "create resources only" and *then* doing "replace current project" it has worked fine ever since. Got back to rendering my work of art (ha!) again last night. It seemed to be hanging on the create .bcast/blah_blah_.toc files for some reason. Hopefully any new stuff I create will be OK. [CinCV] Re: Cinelerra hangs loading projects (was openSUSE 11)
I spoke too soon! After some testing things aren't working after all. :-( The first two projects I tested did, but not the rest. Typical! When I load an .xml file of a known-working project (i.e. it was created on the same physical hardware running the Packman RPM for SLE 10.1 loading the files off the same home partition) Cinelerra hangs. The last thing I see on the console is mpeg3_read_prev_packet 1 result=0 title=0 tell=1b2e078 program_byte=1b2e078 mpeg3_read_prev_packet 100 result=0 title=0 tell=1b2d878 program_byte=1b2d878 [mpeg3io_open_file] Error opening file '/home/mgould/.bcast/home_mgould_Desktop_My_Movies_05 Bus Crash_mvi_2015 slow_m2v.toc': No such file or directory top doesn't show much activity and utilisation is bumping along the bottom. I'm using Cinelerra build 1058, libmpeg3 1.7 and internal ffmpeg. I can't currently see what links the set of projects that do work and those that don't - they're all just different scenes in the same film; the source (.m2v and .jpg) are the same and they all used to load perfectly. Any help would be appreciated and I do realise that I've probably used up my help quota for the year. UPDATE: If I load the project as "create new resources only" and then load it again as "replace current project" it appears to work, even if I quit Cinelerra and go back in - so this is a workaround. Why does it behave like this? Any ideas? Deleting the .bcast directory makes no difference. [CinCV] Introduction...
Hello World, My name's Marcus and I'm from the UK. This is my first post. I've become a big fan of Cinelerra in the few months I've been using it. It's a compelling reason to use Linux as far as I'm concerned! Love it! Keep up the good work. Knowing how each and every mailing list and forum has its own netiquette I hope I don't break the rules too soon. I have checked through the archives without much success and think I already know the answer to this one anyway, but here goes: I've taken a bunch of video on my little compact camera at 30fps. Rendering it to PAL 25fps gives the dreaded judder. I've been reading up on this and it's a known and common problem. Having said that, is there any way in Cinelerra to reduce the impact or cleverly disguise it? Can I ask a second question? Again, it's a PAL thing... I'm using the Cinelerra camera to zoom round very large photographs (and video, above). When I set the project (via Format -> Video) to PAL 4:3 aspect ratio it works fine and I can zoom about to my heart's content. However, when I set it to PAL 16:9 not only does the camera's aspect ratio change (which I would expect) but the photograph's aspect ratio changes, too; i.e. it's all squished. How do I set things up so that my camera is 16:9 but the photograph doesn't get squashed? Obviously when it comes to showing it on my 16:9 widescreen TV it needs to look right. I think I am misunderstanding something fundamental, here, but I don't know what! Not sure if it's my understanding of Cinelerra or aspect ratios in general. Thanks, Marcus. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
