I have two video tracks, video track 1 starts at the beginning, and i would like to use track 2 to positioning the videos free now they start at the beginning of the track just as videotrack 1. Of course i can copy the video i would like to insert in track 2 and paste it at the right position, but later when the video is in position i would like to move it around. So far i haven??t found any info about that, is it possible or not and when yes how can i do this? Can anyone tell me where i find info about that? Thanks for infos BF. Hello, Hello, I don't quite understand your problem... What do you want to do? Are you trying to move the video on track 2? Is moving the video on track 2 the problem? I would like to know if it is possible to move around a media in a track just like in Final Cut? There're several ways to move a media on a track. First, you select a part of the track using the [ and ] buttons to define the start and end point. Then you can paste silence using Shift+Space. That moves to the right the medias which are on the right side of the in and out points. You can also cut the part you selected, just by pressing the x key. Selecting an area and using in ([) and out (]) points and pressing Shift+Space does a past silence that´s right, but when i then try to insert a media it is still positioned at the beginning of the track and not right (next to) the outpoint. Well, perhaps you already know that. Please give us more information about what you're trying to do, and we'll be able to help you. It works somehow if i goto the last position of the first track and arm the second video track and insert from the sources menu, but then i can´t move around the video for example in Drag and drop mode (arrow mode) the media stays at it´s position where it has been inserted before. I can move it to the beginning of the track but not right. And if i go to the end of the media and the mousepointer becomes an arrow pointing right i can extend the media but not repositioning it. Thanks so far, Bernhard F. Nicolas, Paris. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

Is it possible to move a track around in the 'arrow' mode instead with the mouse moving the track with the keyboard frame by frame. In the Drag and drop mode i am only able to move around the media between several video tracks, but not for example to the right. Thanks, BF. I want to lipsync individual recordings. But it is kinda hard doing it with a mouse, play to check, and move it a bit around again. Matthew, Did you try to : - select 1 frame using the [ and ] buttons, before the media you want to move - go to the compositor, and you can use the x key to remove 1 frame several times. It works while the video is played. Unfortunately, it's not possible to paste 1 frame (is that a bug?) using the v key. The paste silence Shift-space do not works either. So, you can move the media on the left, but not on the right. You have to go back to the main screen to do that. One of them being, as Stefan de Konink said : - to move the mouse over the beginning of the media you want to move - put the mouse cursor a little bit on the left. That way, the arrow points to the right - click and move the media located on the right I've seen a Cinelerra demo made by Andraz, it's available on the cvs.cinelerra.org website. I think he said it's possible to use Cinelerra with the keyboard. I admit I still use the mouse, even if I type with my 10 fingers (400 chars per minute ;-)) and love vim. I'll read the manual again when I'll get some spare time. There're a section about keyboard shortcuts. ;-) Nicolas, Paris. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra

Try pressing the keys on the Num Pad and see what they do (1 4 especially) Also, doc/cinelerra.html actually contains some shortcut keys, as well as when you hover your mouse over some of the buttons around the place, (see that bar just below the menu bar) you'll see what keys correspond to which button. ___ Cinelerra mailing list Cinelerra@skolelinux.no https://init.linpro.no/mailman/skolelinux.no/listinfo/cinelerra
