$$$ for labtime [7:179]

2001-04-10 Thread Joe Dewberry

I am looking to take the CCNA exam soon, but would like some solid lab time.
What is a benchmark for say five four hour sessions with a set/rack of
routers?

Thanks,

Joe Dewberry

Re: IP Protocol 89?

2001-02-23 Thread Joe Dewberry

Heydoes anybody have a net xray .cap file they could post to the group?
All of the networks I have seen have NO OSPF! I'd like a chance to run it
thru a sniffer and see the traffic patterns, decodes etc

Re: T-1 Cross-over

2001-02-23 Thread Joe Dewberry

A T-1 has four wires on an rj-45 connector. 1-2/4-5 . I use the orange and
blue pair. wo-1/ow-2 wb-4/bw-5 on one end. wb-1/bw-2 and wo-4/ow5 on the
other end.

Re: Deleting Sub interfaces

2000-09-20 Thread Joe Dewberry

My favorite would be to make a clean config on your tftp server and then
issue WRITE ERASE followd by COPY TFTP START and reload the router. That's
if you can afford a reload on a production box.

Re: Traceroute Source Address

2000-08-30 Thread Joe Dewberry

Case in point...

I used to do Cable Heandendsvery greedy on address space. Say I added
network 208.208.122.0/23 to the cable router for the customers to use for
DHCP leases.

I trace back out to the internet using the gateway for that network
208.208.122.1. That would let me know that my carriers were getting my
traffic back across the internet.
I would use different sites but simple ones www.yahoo.com www.ibm.com and
a few other ones. Does that help?

Re: PRI Connection

2000-08-18 Thread Joe Dewberry

You have to be mindful of the PRI switch type 4ess, 5ess, or DMS. You can
get all of that from the telco that brought the circuit. You should be able
to drop the ckt right into the wic on your router and configure from there.
Use CCO to get the necessary reference material and you'll do fine.
