ccnp switching passed!!! [7:57482]

2002-11-14 Thread Leonardo Rocha
People, yesterday I took the 640-604 exam and passed with 901, I did spend
37 minutes to answer the questions which were so well defined.
Used only the cisco press certification guide for the 504 exam and some lab,
I can say the material for 504 covers very well the 604 contents. So, those
who has the old material can keep tranquil.

For who will do the exam, good luck and thanks for the group help.

Regards,

leo

Assunto: Router Modem

I'm trying to dial into a US Robotics 33.6 external modem connected to my
Cisco 2520 router. The modem has a db-25 connector on it which I've placed
a db-25 to RJ-45 convertor on it. From the RJ-45 I connected a Cisco rolled
cable (console cable) to it and connected the other end of the RJ-45 cable
to the AUX interface on the router. The configuration are already on the
AUX interface on the router. When I dialed to it, it answers and seems to
connect via hyperterminal. However, after the connection, I don't seem to
be getting any response back from the router or something like that because
nothing seems to echo back. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank
you.

here is a VERY simple access list i have put on a
router that is providing our internet connection to
prevent connections to www.radiowave.com and
www.entrypoint.com(used to be pointcast):

access-list 100 deny ip any host 206.64.127.11 log
access-list 100 deny ip any host 64.37.194.196 log
access-list 100 permit ip any any

then on every interface i have put:
ip access-group 100 in
ip access-group 100 out

yet this is not preventing the connections. can
someone tell me why? the router this is on is the only
link we have to the internet. this is very puzzling to
me.

  Hi list

Can I do the accounting of history commands in a
router just using a Syslog Server ?
  Or do I need a radius or tacacs+ , like a
  CiscoSecure?

I'd like to use local authentication , and for
each user, record the commands he had done in the router.
The syslog Server is a 3CDaemon, from
  3COM.

To all,

I have been trying to telnet to remote router (2501) and the connection is
opened, but I never receive a password prompt. I telnetted to a directly
connected router and did a "sh cdp neigh det" and the router is listed as a
cisco neighbor. I believe telnet uses a layer 3 protocol (TCP/Port 23) and
cdp operates at layer 2. What could be the problem???

Thanks,

RES: how to block Media Player

2000-07-24 Thread Leonardo Rocha

Jim,

If you configure the Media Player to not use HTTP, it will use port 1755.
I think it´s only one way to do this: - Configure the media player to not
use http and create a access-list denying all to use remote port 1755.

*Without configuring the media player to do this, it will always use port
80.

good luck,

Leonardo.

My users access a lot of web sites running Media

associated with it?

Thanks in advance.

RE: No debug over telnet

Type the "terminal monitor" command in the privileged EXEC mode to see the
debugging.

Hello,

I have noticed that although I can turn debugging on over a telnet
connection, I cannot watch the debug information over a
telnet connection to the router. I deduced that if you want to debug
activities on the router you have to connect to it
through the console port. If that is not true please let me know.
