Stan,

verify if is not there some access-list applied to filter telnet trafic (to
some servers) through the router!
Once I apllyed a a-list denying telnet access through the router and when I
was telneting the router, it gets connection but do not prompt me the
password´s request.

Verify, this can be problem!

good luck guy,

Leonardo.

To all,

I have been trying to telnet to remote router (2501) and the connection is
opened, but I never receive a password prompt. I telnetted to a directly
connected router and did a "sh cdp neigh det" and the router is listed as a
cisco neighbor. I believe telnet uses a layer 3 protocol (TCP/Port 23) and
cdp operates at layer 2. What could be the problem???

Thanks,

Stan Rossetti
