Lab Swap [7:52933]

2002-09-09 Thread The Edward Groove

Hi,

I need an SJ date between 10/28 and 11/3. If you have
a date available, and don't quite feel comfortable
with Token Ring, IPX, and IGRP, then I have a 11/18
date in SJ to offer you (these topics, among others,
will be dropped on 11/4).

Please email me directly.

Thanks!

Eddie

Lab Swapping Procedures?? [7:52945]

2002-09-09 Thread The Edward Groove

Hey List,

If I was to swap lab dates with someone, how would we
go about it in a secure way? That is, a more
reliable way than just timing it to do it via the
online interface.

I was looking on Cisco's site, and I could only find
email correspondence for any CCIE-related questions.
Is there a live operator I can speak to? If so, does
anyone know the number?

Please email me directly, if you can.

Thanks!

Eddie

I have an Oct 1 date that I would like to swap for an
(on or around) Oct 30 date. Please let me know ASAP,
if you feel ready a little earlier and want to swap.
I would prefer the SJ venue, please.

Thanks!

 A couple of suggestions:

 1) Verify that your ATM interfaces are up and up
 which i assume you
 already did.

 2) Since your LS1010 ATM interfaces are setup with
 UNI version 3.1, change
your ATM uni version on your routers to be 3.1. (The
 default is 3.0).

Please provide the IOS version you are running on
 the LS1010 and on the
 routers as well.

 Thanks.

The best place for FLASH would be Ebay. I think if you're shopping for
2500- you will find an 8 Meg stick ranges from $35 to $50. This is a
far cry from the $100 to $150 it once sold for just a few short years
ago.

As far as RAM- that's and easy one. The specs are:
16 Megs/ 72 Pin/ 60ns/ Parity

You should be able to pick up a 16 Meg stick for less than $10. I have
ordering RAM from M.C. Howard Electronics [[EMAIL PROTECTED]] for
approximately 3 years now. You'll need to know the specs when dealing
with these guys (refer to the above paragraph).

On the topic of FLASH and RAM- I have had nothing short of perfect
service from Jeff @ PC Wholesale [[EMAIL PROTECTED]]. I buy most
all my FLASH and RAM for the 2600s from him.

I have found both of these sellers so trustworthy- that I generally
E-mail them with what I need and pay them without directly (without
using Ebay).

All the best !!!
Phil

2500 boot ROM's [7:41394]

2002-04-13 Thread The Edward Groove

Hello,

Does anyone have any *extra* of the latest boot ROM's for the 2500
series routers? I can't load 16 MB memory until I upgrade it. I know
they're free from Cisco, but they said the lead time is about 3 weeks
(probably more). Does anyone have any they could send me ASAP?

Just thought I'd give it a try...=)

Thanks,

Eddie

Supervisor III [7:40659]

2002-04-05 Thread The Edward Groove

Hello,

I need some help in answering a few questions.

If i have a supervisor III (WS-X5530-E1) with no uplink modules on a Cat
5500, and need to know the minimum requirements to be able to load a
newer IOS.

First of all, do I need at least one switching module installed, or is
there another way to upload the IOS?

The memory on the Sup III is 32DRAM/4Flash. Is this configuration
compatible with version 6.3(3a)?

I can't seem to find any documentation on Cisco's site regarding this.

Thanks in advance!

Eddie
