RE: bri flapping with demand cirquit/igrp redistribution
Try remove the "log" from the access-list 15 associated with the route-map stuff. Also, you do not need the summary-address under OSPF. -Ya -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Patrick Murphy Sent: Friday, March 23, 2001 5:04 PM To: Leah Lynch; 'Jay Chandradas'; 'Chris Larson'; 'Bob Boone'; [EMAIL PROTECTED]; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: bri flapping with demand cirquit/igrp redistribution Also check the BRI interface and see if you see IPCDP, it should disapper when you no cdp en! Re: 2 default routes on PIX???
Cory: Based on my experience, you can't set up two default routes on the PIX, it simply doesn't allow you to do that. For load balancing, I would put another router in front of the PIX and the new router will share a same public LAN with the other two routers. You can start setting up load balancing from there either using static, IGP or even BGP. -Ya On Tue, 20 Feb 2001, Stull, Cory wrote: > Scenario: 2 2600 routers both with T1's to the same ISP. > 1 PIX firewall between internal lan and the 2 2600's. > > Can I have 2 default routes in the PIX pointing one to one 2600 and the > other to the other 2600? > If so is this doing per packet load balancing? and what happens when one T1 > goes down? > > > I would have set this up in a lab to test it but don't have a PIX. OSPF Process ID
Hi, group: Will this a potential problem if I have both EIGRP and OSPF running in the same router with the same process ID, for example, ID #100. The reason I am asking is because I have the exact situation on one of my router, it seems like the router could not participate in the OSPF updating domain. The only difference I can see from other OSPF routers is this router is also running EIGRP with the same process ID. I am not doing any redistribution here between EIGRP and OSPF. CCIE Written
Hi, all: Just came back from the CCIE written test and Yeah, PASSED! It was a fairly good test, covers a lot of stuff. Not as hard as I expect though. Anyway, I am glad it is over, the next thing is even more exciting! Thanks to all the group memebers who contribute to this list. Re: Online training
Thanks, Donald, for your suggestion. As a matter of fact, I have lots of hands-on experience on my daily work as a senior network engineer. But guess what, in my opinion, hands-on means nothing but just some repetitive keybord movements if you can not explain and understand thoroughly all your movements. To me, hands-on is not hard at all if you understand the underneath theories but not just those IOS commands, the hard part for a good network engineer is however to be an observer and lecturer not just an implementor. Unlike some people in this list, I strongly believe in reading and understanding from bottom up. That's why I think some sort of training will help me understand better than just studying by myself. Why online then? Because I am taking care of every detail of the LAN/WAN infrastracture here and just can't leave the office. :-) -Ya On Wed, 25 Oct 2000, Donald B Johnson Jr wrote: > Ya > You can't get the CCIE with out hands on. > Duck > - Original Message - > From: Ya Wen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: Cisco Group Study <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2000 3:40 PM > Subject: Online training > > > > Hi, all: > > > > My company agrees to pay me for an online CCIE training course such that I > > could work while study. :-) Do you guys know if there is any good quality > > CBT based CCIE courses out there? > > > > Thanks a lot! > > > > -Ya > > > > _ > > FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: > http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html > > Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > _ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

BGP full routes
Hi, is there anybody who is using a Cisco 3620 router with 64MB to handle BGP4 with full Internet routing table? I am currently multihoming to two ISPs using two Cisco 3620s and planning to run BGP4 with them. But the maximum DRAM a 3620 can handle is 64MB. There is no way I could upgrade it to be 128MB unless I change to two bigger boxes. But before I do that, I just want to check and see if 64MB is sufficient of handling all the Internet routing table. Thanks very much! -Ya **NOTE: New CCNA/CCDA List has been formed. Theoretically, you can have about 1024 VLANs in one switch, but in reality, it's recommended to use no more than 100 VLANs... -Ya "Hitesh Pathak (CSD-BBYRO-RTSG)" wrote: > Friends, > > I hv a question. > > Can anyone tell me What is the MAX. no. of vlan's can be created using a > switch/switches . CCIE Lab equipment
Hi, there: I am studying for CCIE now. Luckily, my employer wanted me to build up a CCIE lab for all the CCIE wannabes in the company to practice lab scenarios. The employer promised a budget of $15,000 for all the hardware and software. What my question for you guys is what kind of Cisco equipments (router, switch, hub etc) do I need to purchase for the lab such that we could have a pretty good simulation for everything required by CCIE lab tests. What are the equipments used in the real CCIE lab?
