How to manage the pix 501 remotely via telnet or pdm [7:52825]
Hi I just installed two PIX 501 with vpn tunnel over the internet for my client and I would like to allow telnet and pdm from one site to the other. The tunnels are up and I able to send traffic in both directions but I cannot telnet into the remote Pix from my PC.I tried the following command: telnet 172.16.1.2 255.255.255.255 outside This command would not allow my PC (IP address172.16.1.2) to telnet to the remote site but I am able to telnet to my servers behind the PIX. i have the same problem with PDM. I have two routers connected to the same LAN but I cannot ping the loopback IP address of each other. from router1 I am not able to ping the loopback of router2 and vice-versa. Why ?. I have a network that I am implementing using ipsec 3DES over the internet by ADSL using cisco routers. There is 700 remote sites connecting by vpn to the main site to a cisco 7140 router. the remotes sites are negotiating the IP address from the ISP. I am wondering if activating a routing protocol on the routers would be a good idea. Want to get to setup frame relay on my two routers connectected (2x 2501) back-to-back with a DTE/DCE cables. When both routers boot up I could see the routing table with "sh ip route" and after 30 secondes the protocol on the serial interfaces go down. I have a cisco router 2501 and I cannot boot to the prompt. The Router starts fine and hangs during the boot up. I have tried to get into the ROMMON prompt, that did not worked. I also swaped the flash memory with another 2503 and still I cannot boot to the prompt. I need it for my home lab. I have been working in Novell/NT environment for 3 years. I would like to move into Cisco/networking. I have been studying for CCNP. I passed already CLSC and ACRC.
