One Asian's comments about H1-B

2000-09-13 Thread rtc9

I was born in the US.
I think I'm different from a lot of Americans and Asians because I was
born with ADD and severe depression and have been fighting it all my life.
But I still think of myself as Asian.
Once you have been at that depth of pain, your existence seems to just
transgress everything human. I kept on going in school &have got a ME,
BSEE and MSEE , CNE, MSCE and CCNA.
Anyway last week I finished 4th in a Triathlon. Once you have been at the
level of pain that ADD and depression can cause, the Triathlon doesnt hurt
too much.
I try to work hard not so I can buy a big Mercedes or a huge house. I
think work is the main thing that keeps me going. I do have a Mercedes but
its an old one I rebuilt froma junkyard.I have a house but I rebuilt it from
scrap/
Anyway to be deep, there is something about our existence here much deeper
than being Asian.
Its our search for the meaning of existence here, and its about our
wondering why we walk this way, and smiling when deep down everything inside
is beaten. Its about being proud when your very existence defines itself as
neurological signals telling you bad things about yourself because of
depression. Its about feeling unbeaten when evrything inside you wishes you
could lay down.
And its about hope, that tomorrow this horrible fog will vanish and I walk
as other humans do. I realize I have missd much of the human experience--but
just to ber here in America is the biggest miracle of my life.

PASSED BSCN WITH A 963!

2000-10-01 Thread rtc9

I only studied for two weeks, i guess one
advantage is that i have a photographic memory.

Re: PASSED BSCN WITH A 963!

2000-10-02 Thread rtc9

The best book is the Cisco CCIE Lab manual by
McGraw Hill. Set up the OSPF,EIGRP and BGP examples in the manual, they are very
straightforward, and do the labs, they are not hard.
You will need four routers minimum.
The material will etch in your brain. YOU
WILL ALSO learn it like a router pro, not an exam taker.

I cant under stress the use of
equipment
Try the Boson Exams after that.
The BGP is not as deep as it is said
to be.
   Know:
  OSPF areas,
summarization principles, EXTSRAT, EXCHANGE,  .
  EIGRP

Boson Tests didnt help for BCRAN [7:33879]

2002-01-31 Thread rtc9

I recently took the BCRAN Test and used Boson Tests 1 and 2 to help me
prepare along with the Cisco Book. I didnt pass, I missed by one question. I
was taken aback; the Boson tests didnt really prepare me for the Exam. Does
anyone have any suggestions for the BCRAN Exam preparation process.

7513 into worthless pile of silicon? Help on resetting slave Confreg

2000-09-05 Thread rtc9

I accidentally set confreg on the Master RSP board to --boy was that a
mistake! I had to swap the master and slave RSP boards to get out of that
mess.
Now that I have a normal master again, I'm afraid to turn the 7513 into a
pile of worthless metal and silicon before I tinker with the new master
Confreg before I set the slave back to 0x102 vice 1-1-1-1. PLEASE HELP

Help! setting up new 7513 Configuration driving me bananas!

2000-09-05 Thread rtc9

Does anyone know an easy way to get a 7513 going out of the box? Like as
ez as setting up a 2501 and 2621 and 3102?
The 7513 master slave RSP is one stumbling block; the other is the
bootdlr commands.
The other is the router's present initial attempt to boot from the
network.cfg, cisconet.cfg, a.cfg file sequentially. Whatever happened to an
easy confreg 0x102 method? I accidentally set confreg to --boy was that
a mistake! I had to swap the master and slave RSP boards to get out of that
mess.
How do I set confreg so that it stops trying to boot from network.cfg,
cisconet.cfg, a.cfg file sequentially? Why cant I set it to initiate a
straightforward "Do you want to enter initial configuration dialogue" like
all the other routers mentioned above?
  Please help

Why do Labs use Serial vice Ethernet Connections

2000-09-10 Thread rtc9

In the HUTNIK and SATERLEE CCIE LAB BOOK, why do they always use
SERIAL (HSSI to HSSI)to SERIAL Connections, DCE clockrate =50. WHY CANT
the connections be made in Ethernet or Fast Ethernet with Crossover UTP
Cables? REASON!! I have only 2600's and 2500's--limited number of ETHERNET
PORTS avaialble, also crossover cable expensive!!
PS WHERE CAN I BUY CISCO ROUTERS USED FOR HOME CCIE LAB? I am tired of going
to lab site 50 miles away at 5 AM Sunday iits lonely.
