Re: CCNP Advice [7:26053]
Ciscopress books would probably get the top vote here but I cant help but recommend both. I used both and each seemed to have different positives, like the Lammle books having those cool little palm flash cards... and Ciscopress having the exact, no fluff info you need... I always like at least two resources...Good luck! I found the Lammle CCNP routing book to be easy to learn, but lacking in some major areas for the exam. Symon --- > Cisco Press and Exam Cram's. Cisco Press and Exam Cram's. These subjects will be hard to tackle if you do not have above the CCNA understanding going into your studies. For this reason, use the Cisco Press as your guide (it's were the exam comes from). All the best !!! Hai, My best suggestion is : Sybex CCNP All 4 off them plus the Cisco Press CCNP books. I belived Sybex books is less technical writen than Cisco Press Books, so if you are having less real time with Cisco Router Sybex is better. RE: CCNP Advice [7:26053]
I personally found Todd's CCNA book one of the better technical books I've read, so also bought routing based on that. I have found it to be one of the worst books I've read. His discussion on OSPF was completely confusing until I read Doyle's book which was given to me and which you don't need for the routing test, just get Cisco press CCNP books. Since I bought this book of Todd's, I didn't want to spend more money on the Cisco CCNP routing book, so I used Doyle's and an older Cisco 403 routing book to clear the confusion that Todd's routing book had and used Todd's book mainly as a study road map. I have a friend who also quit Todd's book halfway through, sold the whole sybex series and bought the Cisco series. I think Sybex books are good in general, but the Cisco CCNP series can't be beat. I tried to buy them off my friend I mentioned, but he wants to keep them as future reference, as I will never open the Todd routing book again. Re: CCNP Advice [7:26053]
I have CCNP and will finish CCDP in two weeks. I advice you to go with cisco press books since they are based on the actual course.
