Passed Support 2.0

2001-01-22 Thread william

Hi guys

Just passed it today. The questions are not difficult but tricky. What I
said is funny questions. Really. I thought that it is the most difficult
module. Believe me, if you have passed BSCN, BCMSN and BCRAN, you will have
no problem with this exam. I had few Apple Talk questions. Quiet a lot.
About 5 of them.

For those who are working on this, good luck.

And thanks guys for your input here.

I'm on my way to CCIE.

Best regards.

Passed Support 2.0

2000-09-22 Thread Miller, Nathan (AZ15)

Thanks to the group for the study tips etc. I passed the Support 2.0 exam
yesterday (931). After taking some of the practice exams earlier in the
morning I thought that I had probably thrown my $100 away. Perhaps I got
lucky in the question selection but the level of detail required for this
exam was not as great as I had expected. Much of the exam is strait out of
the Cisco press books. I prepared by taking the CIT class from GN, reading
the exam cram book, and scanning the Cisco press book as a reference. In my
estimation I answered 50% of the questions from general knowledge, 30% from
portions of the Cisco press book that seemed to point to test questions, and
20% based on things that I learned in the class. Don't get me wrong, the
class was great and I learned a ton but the exam can not really simulate the
scenarios that are presented in the lab portion of the class and the test
can certainly be passed without taking the class. If I were to do this
again (and I am going to because I still need to pass foundation) I would
read the Cisco press book(s) twice or more and use other books for
clarification. Thanks again for the resource that this group/community
provides.
Regards,

Nathan Miller

I have several years of troubleshooting experience which came in real

Looking back over the objectives for the CIT test. I would say they didn't
change much just worded it better. I'm guessing here, but I would think a
new Support 2.0 book would be 95% the same as the CIT book. Yes, there were
fill in the blanks. Yes, I thought the Boson test was good. No previous

Passed Support 2.0;Another CCNP

2000-11-27 Thread STRAND Scott

Passed Support 2.0 last wednesday with a score of 832. This was the only one of the 5
exams that I thought was poorly written.
Halfway through the test I was starting to get upset because the questions were vague
to say the least..but if you have studied
hard and know your show and debug commands you'll be OK. Cisco really shouldn't
require you to sign a NDA for this exam, who in
their right mind could remember these weird questions?? :-) Here is how I passed:

Used the Cisco-Press CIT book (OK)
Used the exam cram book. (also OK)
Used Boson test #2 (helpful, I reccommend it)
Used Priscilla's flash cards (very helpful)

Here's how I rate the exams from 1 to 10 with 10 being the most difficult:
CCNA - 4
ACRC - 7
BCMSN - 5
BCRAN - 5
Support - 6

I consider myself a CCNP Version 1.75 because of the ACRC test. I know that makes me
only a 1.0 so I'll probably take BSCN to get to
2.0. Oh well, I'll take it.

I've read *alot* of study books during this process and here are two "must reads" IMHO:

Routing TCP/IP - By Jeff Doyle (Never would have passed ACRC without this one)
Cisco Lan Switching - Kevin Hamilton and Kennedy Clark

passed Support 2.0 for CCNP!

2000-07-25 Thread Dave Hennen

Hi all, I passed the Support 2.0 exam on Friday to finish my CCNP.

The exam was 61 questions, 75 minutes, 692 required to pass. All questions
where you needed to give more than one answer indicated how many answers
were needed.

I got a half dozen or so type in the answer questions, a couple of place the
labeled blocks on the right place in the diagram questions, a few questions
on Microsoft networking and about the same on web resources. A dozen or so
questions with exhibits like debug and show screens. There were a couple of
pretty vague questions and a few that weren't so vague if you took the time
to read them carefully.

I passed the test on Friday and the information was updated on the Galton
site this morning (Tues), pretty quick service.

I'm glad to have finished CCNP, thanks to everyone who contributes to the
list. It's a valuable resource for information

Now for the CCDP. Like someone else wrote, it doesn't seem right if I don't
have a study subject I should be working on.

I just passed the Support 2.0 test with a score of 873. There were 61
questions, 692 required to pass. The test had some confusing questions, but
it wasn't too bad. It did not have the technical detail I expected, but it
still required very in-depth study. I used the CIT 4.0 course book, the
Exam Cram book, boson #2, Priscilla Oppenheimer's flash cards, and threads
on this list. Thank you, Priscilla for your excellent flash cards, and
thanks to everyone on this list once again.

How about this:
CCNA v1
Routing v2
Switching v2
Remote Access v2
Support v2

CCNP v1 or 2? Is CCNA a pre-requisit and not actually part of the CCNP
cert, so I'm guessing CCNP v2.

RE: Passed Support 2.0 and CIPT Beta

2000-11-12 Thread Waqar M

Chen,
I used only the Cisco Press book CIT for study purpose. Concentrate more on
Protocol Analyser output type scenarios and know show, debug commands at ur
finger tips. Moreover, go through CCO components.
