Re: CCIE Exam [7:18808]

2001-09-10 Thread David Goddard

Manny,

I totally agree with John. So much theory that you see in the CCIE written
is covered in the CCNP tests. Plus, it takes a while to get the CCIE number
behind your name, while you could have CCNP after your name after passing
just one more written test. I personally recommend knocking out your last
test, and then take the written.

  Whatever you decide, good luck!

Dave

I would download the info off of cisco's website about token-ring and the
information on RIF fields. Other than that, the book you have should do the
trick. I know of some good self test software if you want to e-mail me as
well.

Hi Manny,

There is an exam Blueprint and list of recommended reading that is posted on
the Cisco Website. www.cisco.com
Here is the link for the Routing and Switching Written Exam that should get
you started.

Hi Group

I have one exam to go to finish my CCNP. I have decided not to pursue the
CCNP and move on to the CCIE written.I am currently reading Bridges,Routers
and Switches for CCIEs. I know that volume 2 is out. Can anyone recommend
reading material to prepare for the written? I plan to spend about 6 months
preparing.

Manny

2001-09-06 Thread John Neiberger

I would recommend that you finish up that last test while you're
studying for the written exam. Once you've finished up the CCNP exams,
there are just a few topics that you need to study to be ready for the
CCIE written. Besides, since you've already done three of the exams,
why not finish the last one?

As far as reading material, check the archives. You'll see the same
books being mentioned over and over again. There are a few must-haves
and you already named one of them.

Good luck!
John
